I stopped by to pick up a couple of items before the store closed. While there I saw a police…read moreofficer questioning an older gentleman who was accused of shoplifting by one of the store employees. Well after being put through the embarrassment of that accusation it was determined that he had not done what he was accused of by this employee. (A heavy set white lady with a very bad haircut). I wish I would have gotten her name but unfortunately she didn't have her name tag on her shirt. She did not give this gentleman any type of apology after falsely accusing him of shoplifting. I put in a description just so management if they happen to read this can sit down and talk to her about this incident. Not only about accusing this man of doing what he didn't do but about not apologizing to him afterwards.

The management of this store and corporate managers have very low ethics. Anyone who shops here…read moreknows that they do not scan groceries and other items j- there is a price sticker an the checkout staff has to read it and enter it in the register. The first two times I shopped here, I was charged twice for the same item which I noticed by looking at my receipt as I walked to the ar.. I returned to the store and got a refund. Waste of time. I notified corporate office in Texas and they never responded indicating they condone this scammy behavior to get more profit. The last time I was there, the checkout clerk tore the itemized portion of the receipt off and kept it - this way I could not check to see if I was overcharged. Nor can you.

Fred's pharmacy is everything you'd want in a small town drugstore. I dropped off a prescription at…read more5:30 only 30 minutes before closing time. Not only were the pharmacy clerks friendly but the pharmacist had my medicine ready in no time despite a a room full of customers who were waiting also. There were several pieces of antique pharmacy cabinets which gave it that quaint drugstore feel. I have a feeling that Fred's is the place to go when you can't find it anywhere else.

The pharmacy service is really good, this is a good spot if you need to buy a quick present or if you forgot to buy the drinks for your friend's dinner. Another interesting thing is that for some reason most of the cashiers are usually smiling and nice, some are even willing to make small talk (if you want to)... I'm just saying this because it's a warm feeling when a cashier treats you as a person lol This is the kind of place that you are not thankful for until you don't have one around! Of course when you're in Baton Rouge, there's a memorable meal around a lot of corners if you choose well. Then there's the "I forgot to pack" syndrome which for me has included various toiletries, stationary, and charging cords. In these situations, the nearest chain drug store (Walgreens, CVS, etc.) is the best bet to restock. This one is on the way to the Plant, is easily accessible off the road, and has what you'd expect for a Walgreens. Nothing more nothing less. .I stopped in last week, they had what I needed, and I was soon on my way as it should be.
