I was discouraged from hearing responses from stylists like, "When is the wedding? Oh no, I don't have any availability." Or "The wedding is all the way out there? I will have to rethink my original price quote." Just when I thought I would have to style my own hair for the wedding, The Parlour salon responded enthusiastically to my inquiry. I set up a consultation with Krissy and was pleased by her professionalism and knowledge of bridal hairstyles. I brought in a few photos of inspiration and within minutes she went to work. Less than an hour later, she transformed my hair. I have very fine hair that has a reputation for not holding curls very well. She did a wonderful job at creating volume and pinning curls to make the style last for hours. I was so happy with her service that I booked her immediately and was delighted to hear she could style my bridesmaids as well. On the day of the wedding, she showed up early and was ready to work. She brought her own equipment and hair products. She styled my bridesmaid's hair beautifully and even offered touch ups, if needed. Additionally, she styled my hair and helped pin an intricate head wreath that had some weight to it. I paid a little extra for her to stay on site and touch up my hair after photos (hours later) but touch ups were not needed because she styled my hair securely in place. I even danced all night and my hair still didn't budge. Simply perfect. A few weeks after the wedding, Krissy did a follow up of her services. I am really so grateful to Krissy and The Parlour for their exceptional service. The Parlour is a relatively new salon in Ukiah. The salon is a clean and friendly environment and I would recommend their services to any bridal party.

I was very disappointed with my experience with Bella Mae Hair and Makeup. The final makeup look was not what I had discussed or expected, and I was unhappy with the results. To make matters worse, I developed a stye after my makeup appointment, which raised concerns for me about hygiene practices. I also had a frustrating experience regarding my hair appointment. I received a text message from someone who did not initially identify herself, informing me that she would not be able to do my hair because it was her son's birthday weekend. While I understand that personal commitments come up, I was disappointed that no effort was made to reschedule me with another hairstylist or provide an alternative solution. This left me scrambling to make other arrangements at the last minute. Overall, the lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care made this a negative experience. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Bella Mae Hair and Makeup. MY RESPONCE TO YOUR REPLY Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify a few points regarding my experience. My original review focused on the makeup trial, communication, and customer service. I did not bring up deposits or finances. However, since those issues were raised, I feel it is important to provide additional context. While I understand BellaMae's deposit policy, I was told during my trial that a revised contract would be sent that evening or the following day. I was also told this would be around my payday, when I intended to move forward with booking. I never received the revised contract, and I was not comfortable sending a deposit without first reviewing and signing the updated agreement. I was instructed to book my trial online, which I did, but there was no follow-up regarding the contract or next steps. If the date was as time-sensitive as described, I would have expected some effort to confirm I had received the paperwork before assuming I was no longer interested. As for the makeup trial, despite several adjustments, I was ultimately unhappy with the final result. The foundation was not a good match for my skin tone and appeared orange on my complexion, which was not the natural look I had requested. I also felt uncomfortable being advised to have my eyebrows threaded or reshaped. I embrace a natural appearance and felt that my preferences were not fully respected. Regarding the stye, I am not claiming BellaMae caused it. However, developing one shortly after the appointment raised concerns for me. I rarely wear makeup because I prefer a natural look, so experiencing an eye issue after one of the few times I had professional makeup applied was concerning and became part of my overall experience. I appreciate your acknowledgment that communication regarding the hairstylist could have been handled better. Receiving a message from someone who did not initially identify herself and learning she was unavailable due to a personal commitment left me scrambling to make other arrangements. My review reflects my honest experience as a customer. While others may have had positive experiences, mine involved concerns about communication, professionalism, and the services provided. I have been going to Ashley for lash extensions for over a year now. Ashley has also done makeup and hair for very special occasions in my life as well. I can't recommend her work enough and how talented she is as a stylist. She is honest and will do absolutely everything to make sure you don't leave the chair disappointed. Ashley's product in the salon are top of the line and can speak from personal experience since I buy the products to take home. Her location is in a beautiful and relaxing spot right about Starbucks which is an extra bonus! I can't wait for ashley and Aimee to do hair and makeup for my wedding day next year. I am newer to the area and hadn't found a Solon or hair stylist I've really loved, until I went to Ashley! I had over a year of grow out with blonde ends and brought my own hair extensions that weren't a perfect match. Ashley is amazing at blonde and blending (which isn't easy when you have three different colors of blonde and natural grow out) AND she was able to match my extensions perfectly by toning them!! Such an amazing experience and a beautiful and clean salon. Ashley became my favorite hair stylist I've ever been to after just one visit! I booked a highlight service with Celestial and couldn't be happier with the results! She took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and created a beautiful, natural-looking blend that brightened my hair without looking harsh. We did have to broke it down into a couple sessions because of my hairs health but Her attention to detail and knowledge of color really show in her work. For four years since moving here, I have tried SO many hair stylists. one did color well, but every shampoo was a bath; another had great conversation, but cut was uneven. When I exclaimed how it didn't look like the photo the stylist insisted this is how it's done because in 2 weeks they will be in my eyes. I'm sorry but am I a 6 yr old getting short bangs so the mom doesn't have to come in so frequently? Why the hell would I want bangs that would be what I wanted weeks from my appointment. While continuing to cut more of the bangs and then flat ironing them over and over to make them "longer" she charged me $15 and shoved me out the door. Upon further examination saw that most of the ratings are from years ago. She may once have been a good stylist, now maybe time to retire.
