    Goats cheese starter - fancy!
    Emily C.

I don't understand why this place is rated so badly. My three stars is more of a 3.5, just not quite a 4. I was hesitant to say the least as a result of the reviews of past customers, but I have to say, these guys need to re-review. It's really a very lovely spot. We visited early on a Sunday evening and so were able to avail of their early bird which is excellent value. (I wouldn't be happy paying full price for the mains here which were all very much on the pricey side) But, as I said, early bird, great value. They also allowed one of our party to swap in one of the pizzas and still be part of the deal which was really great and is often not the case with a lot of restaurants. I took a picture of my starter as it was so freaking amazing. Goat's cheese with various sauces and garnishes. Absolutely delicious. For mains I had the chicken supreme with veg and roast potatoes which was a bit of a let down after the starter. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with it, but it was a little greasy and the flavours weren't really there that I was expecting. Overall, the service is what won this place over for me. Every one of the waiters was friendly, accommodating, and professional. If I lived in the area, I would definitely go back.

Lunched here today with no.1 who is 6 and decided we should have a lunch date for valentines. He wanted italian so I picked because it was open at 12.45 on a Sunday and was handy! The boss ordered garlic bread, not on the menu and asked for spaghetti bolonaise (even though it was penne) on the menu, both of which were agreed to without hesitation by the friendly waiter. I had a delicious fresh crab starter that was served with gluten free bread and I had the chicken supreme which came with sauted spinach and roast potatoes, really tasty. The kid ate every scrape of his food which is unheard of and we shared a ridiculously large portion of ice cream for dessert. Really friendly staff that could not have made more effort to make us feel welcome, despite being very busy with 2 large groups today.

Although I'm reluctant to give a local business, especially one so near me a bad review Bellagio wasn't great the night I visited. It used to be one of the best and busiest restaurants in Terenure giving always packed Mario's a good run for its money. However its prolonged renovation and reopening has taken the buzz out of the place slightly. The new refurbishment opened the place out more and took out the 1st floor of the original building, this had made the place bigger but also a big colder and empty. I could deal with this if the food hadn't been so bad that night too. The bruschetta I got was thrown together and the mains not up to much either. It is a pity as this place used to be great and you'd be always guaranteed a good meal and nice night out. This aside they do a good lunch menu for under a tenner. I haven't had lunch there but I'd be reluctant to go back.

It has the genuine Italian taste and atmosphere. Service team remembers me and are very friendly. Everything they have, from appetizers, to pastas, to steak, to dessert! They are all fresh, high quality items and meals. This place gets packed everyday for dinner, so try to call or come early to book in advance if you are coming for dinner. I'm addicted to this place!! Like I said; I tried other places but this one tops them all.

We walked over and you can see it was busy and a small restaurant but they luckily had availability and got us a table quickly. Once there we were given break, oil, and vinegar as well as water to enjoy as we looked over our menu. The server recommended a great wine my friend never had and we ordered an appetizer and meal. For the appetizer we ordered: Calamari in crosta and it was honestly one of the best if not best calamari I've had in a long time. It was light, crispy and not oily. Also loved that sauce they paired with it! For the main meal I ordered: Tagliatelle ai frurti de maré e bisque di gamigri Rossi. It was delicious and my friend ordered Tagliatelle al Ragu di cervo Irlandese and she said it was incredible and savored every bite. We didn't order dessert, but would absolutely pop back over when in town. The price was extremely reasonable as well! Lastly the restrooms were clean!

This place shocked me!…read more I found San Lorenzo's via Yelp, so thank you Yelpers! It is one of the few places in Dublin that takes American Express cards. So you can leave home without it when you come here When we asked if they had a table they said only if you are up from the table in an hour. We were hungry so we agreed The environment is dark and tasteful and lively The wine list is not good, but the food and the staff make up for everything The avocado and caprese salad was awesome The shrimp in wine sauce was off the charts delicious The chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto was delicious and the polenta and creamed corn were spectacular The monk fish wrapped in crispy pancetta on a bed of pesto basil was amazing To top it off we had the Nutella cheesecake with Carmel sauce and gelato with biscotti crumbs on top- this was surreal!!! All this and we were done with all the food, a bottle of wine and cappuccinos in an hour and never felt rushed If you are in the mood for Italian food, come to San Lorenzo's

Why I'll go back: wide variety of sauces lets you satisfy any craving…read moreYou HAVE to order: the arancini (how's that for a curveball) Tony's Tip: Given the generous portion size and wide variety of sauces, if you can do a group of 4-6 you'll be able to sample a lot more of the menu. Things I liked about Sprezzatura: - whatever you're in the mood for (marinara, carbonara, bolognese...), it's probably on the menu that night - the sauces are rich/heavy. I like, but maybe not everyone will. - generous portions - super friendly service Things I wasn't crazy about: - the finish on the table left a stickiness that was annoying as we sat through our meal - the kitchen door kept slamming shut (loudly) with every staff pass-through and needs some sort of better hinge or soft close mechanism - each pasta dish was a bit overrun with sauce. I might have soaked it up with some bread, but the amount was unnecessary for the pasta alone. We ordered three pastas dishes. I actually liked the one I didn't order the most - an amatriciana-like red sauce with a little spice. My wife enjoyed the Fettucini, Nduja and Mascarpone. The Mafaldine Cashel Blue (cheese) and Roasted Walnuts, which also had caramelized onions in it, was actually not as sweet as I expected (or wanted) it to be. What we did agree on, though, was how delicious the arancini was (we went with spicy sausage). I would lead with that...but don't get carried away. The wine choices were limited, but solid. And the price was very reasonable. I'd go back again (if I actually lived in Ireland!), mostly when I have a fix for a certain flavor. There was a lot of delivery business taking place during our visit. I suspect these sauces don't travel well (no firsthand experience with that), so dine in seems like the better call to me.
