He and his daughters run the restaurant with a few close coworkers who may as well be family, and their service is as good as the food. Everything, from boquerones (lightly fried large sardines) to patatas bravas to pulpo (octopus) has been perfect every time. And the prices are fantastic at 6 euro for a plate of boquerones and 3 euro for the patatas bravas. But by far our favorite is the made to order paella mixto. Jorge puts love into his cooking, and this, and his fresh seafood and vegetables, keep us coming. Ack year after year. It is always our first meal when we reach torrevieja, our home away from home.

The desserts all looked good, but I had the puffed pastry with ice cream and hot chocolate. Very decadent. As a finale, they bring you a small piece of spiced cake and a local dessert wine. Delicious. Today, I tried the queso fresco with anchovy for my app and had the grilled calamari as my second. It was really good. Tasty and tender. The service here is good and everyone was helpful despite my dreadful Spanish. The patio is lovely with all mature trees providing shade. I would totally recoomend this place!!!

We're picky, new restaurants open and close every day in NYC. Mar a Vila should be in NYC!! Or at least they should open a location there or in Brooklyn. They definitely need to open more locations somewhere. This food is too good to be kept on such a tiny island, away from so many people!
