Went for homecoming week and it didn't disappoint. I was greeted right away by someone selling…read moremerchandise and liked the ambiance. The bartender with short hair was friendly so I got a peach margarita which was huge and strong. I like how there was water at the bar you can help yourself to. Plenty of seating and general admission was comfy so indirect regret not getting a couch. There wasn't a server so I had to place my food order at the bar. It took a while to get it but when I did, the fries and wings were tasty. Price was right and the band was very talented. They played instruments and sang. Even the peole on the audience sang amazing . Money well spent and a time was had. Seemed like a Cheers type of place bc everyone seemed to know the band. Even someone from the kitchen came out to sing. The next time I'm in town, I'll be coming here. Ample parking in a strip mall. Near a campus.

I was amazing. The music was by Sherry Reeves from Birmingham. I got there early and was able to talk with her before the show. I used to play the flute in high school but she was amazing. Her music takes me to another place. It's the kind of experience that stays with you long after the show is over. If you haven't been here before it is a MUST GO place for Jazz. The crowd is a bit older (30+) which is perfect for me. The ambiance was great. Check out some of their upcoming artists. I'll be back soon.

The service from the bartender was good. She was very polite and attentive. They have security at the door that conducts thorough checks of all bags and people. He was also polite. They do have the scannable menu's and from what I did see if people's food orders the food did look amazing so I'll be back to check it out! I also went on a Tuesday and a little early. From what I hear on the weekends they do get busy. Overall if you don't like large crowds I would recommend coming during the week and not the weekend. I also hear they have brunch on Sundays so I'm looking forward to that as well.

They had a great dj but with how popular it is I recommend getting a reservation if you wanna go during the hype times. Hookah is good. We got wings, fries, steak quesadilla, lamb with mash potatoes and it was all good. The service was a bit slow considering it didn't seem that busy initially. I had to get up to get my own drink at the bar and pay for it separately at one point. We would definitely return as the whole group had a great time!

My final work travel stop this week wrapped up with a mighty fine meal at Prohibition Rooftop Bar &…read moreGrill in Madison, Alabama. The restaurant sits just a stone's throw from the ballpark where the Rocket City Trash Pandas play, so the whole place already has a fun, lively atmosphere before you even sit down. Now given the name "Prohibition," I half expected someone to knock on the door and ask for a secret password like it was 1927. Back in those days, enjoying a drink required secrecy, dim lights, and maybe a jazz band playing in the corner. Today, things are a little easier... though for this non-drinker, my order was simple: water on the rocks, hold the lemon. I prefer my water about 100 proof for maximum flavor. My boss and coworker grabbed seats at the bar while we looked over the menu. We kicked things off with the Pork Belly Burnt Ends and the Pork Bao Buns. Let me tell you, those Pork Belly Burnt Ends were an absolute masterpiece. They came out crisp and seasoned just right with a little spicy kick. Served with raw carrots, homemade pickles, and lettuce wraps to bundle those little jewels together--downright tasty. If food had a Hall of Fame, these would already have a plaque on the wall. The Pork Bao Buns were good as well, but they simply couldn't match the grand slam the Pork Belly Burnt Ends delivered. For my main course, I ordered the Smoked Wangs with the Jala Mango seasoning and a side salad. The wings were delicious--cooked and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was solid. No bootlegging required. Prohibition definitely hit it out of the park today. Between the great food, the great service, and the fun atmosphere near the ballpark, this place is a must-stop for locals or anyone just passing through Madison. Our waitress tried pretty hard to convince us to order dessert, so I'm guessing their sweets are just as flavorful as everything else on the menu. The only problem I had today? I couldn't finish my meal. I was absolutely stuffed. If this had been the 1920s, the only crime committed here would've been leaving food on the plate. Great food. Great service. I'll gladly return--though next time I may need a little more room in the stomach.
