I've been hesitant to write this because everyone was really nice, and I truly appreciate that. I also understand this is a place where people are learning. But I've been feeling increasingly upset every time I see my hair, so I felt it was important to share my experience. I came in with a few reference photos, but unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like what I asked for. The instructor did most of the haircut, but it felt more like she was playing around in my hair and trying to appear knowledgeable in front of the student, rather than focusing on what I actually wanted. One side of my bangs was blunt cut, while the other was only partially blended, which is really frustrating. I have wavy/curly hair, and both the instructor and student were pulling very hard with a comb I could actually feel strands being ripped out. I'm a pretty shy person, especially when I'm by myself, so I didn't speak up in the moment and I regret that. I rarely get my hair cut, this was my first in about a year. I had just finished growing it out after buzzing it, so it was a really emotional experience for me. Everyone was kind, and I don't want to be overly harsh, but the experience left me genuinely disappointed and upset. read more

If I could give this school 0 stars I would!!! If you are interested in the beauty industry, do NOT come here! TOO EXPENSIVE & honestly not even worth it. they will try to screw you over with your hours and very money hungry. I recently just got dropped from this school because I was being treated unfairly with the instructors and owner. I got punished for attending this charity event I was invited to go to by the owner of a salon to go help out with prom hair for the high school girls. No money involved and I wasn't even with the girls from the school but yet I got punished and said if I attend the charity event that I will be dropped and can no longer be on the school premises. I have screenshots of the owner herself telling me all this via email. I can't even pick up MY back pack from the school that has my social security in it and other personal items because it's being held hostage by the owner. Don't waste your time coming to this school. I wasted lots of money and lost my hours at this school. Now I gotta start from the beginning at a different school with better structure. It's honestly sad how they treat people at this school but karma works in many ways! I will learn way more stuff at a different school NOT this one. BAD ENVIRONMENT, BAD INSTRUCTORS, BAD VIBES!!! They also quote and try to charge clients for services the same price as a regular salon and that's NOT RIGHT because it is a beauty school so we are still learning so it should be half priced a regular salon. read more

I'm from the Dallas area originally and frequent many different beauty colleges to get my hair done. I'm completely understanding about the students learning on me when I go and am aware that not everyone has experience with my tightly coiled textured hair but my experience here was unlike any other beauty school. From the moment I sat down for my shampoo, I knew it was gonna be a teaching moment. During the shampoo, she didn't scrub my scalp, during conditioning, she barely raked through my coils to detangle, we went to go blow dry and she had it on a cool setting with no attachment or comb to elongate my coils while drying, she started to flat iron and at that point I was ready to just leave and go home to do it myself- which is exactly what I did. Throughout this entire experience I tried to let her know what works best for my hair texture and she ignored it, there were no instructors or supervisors walking around to make sure she was doing things correctly l, and she had only been at the school for 2 months prior to me walking in. I expected so much more from the instructors here. I don't even blame the student as much-- the instructor who assigned her to me knew that she didn't have as much experience and chose to do nothing to help. read more

They did an awful job on my mother's haircut, it was completely uneven and they missed entire chunks of her hair. The girls stand around gossiping, texting on their phones, etc. Their 'break room' is merely a corner of the salon with a table and microwave, so depending on what time of day you get there there are girls huddled in the corner eating in plain view while you are getting your services done. I went in to get a brow wax and the girl missed quite a few stray hairs, did not clean up my browline at all, and left bits of wax all over my forehead. The place was dirty with grit on the floor and old, outdated equipment; half of the nail polishes are old and clotted up and they have to shake them for a long time before they can even use them. My mom's pedicure was CRAZY, they did not properly pumice her feet and her toenails had the worst polish job you've ever seen, full of bubbles and streaks, and it took them almost an hour and ten minutes to do a simple pedi! If you want a $5 haircut and don't mind risking yourself to a student, feel free, but me? I'll shell out the extra money to get a sanitary, friendly experience somewhere else. read more

i like this place, getting your hair done takes a little longer than if you were at the salon, but i guess that makes sense because they are new at it, but that never bothers me, especially for the crazy low price they charge. read more
