Christian Child Cares - Student's work

Christian Child Cares

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! Former staff speaking here!…read moreThe playground there is a black top nightmare. It reminds me of a prison school yard. The kids can take out the toys, but there aren't many options for the small black top yard. The lack of kitchen is another thing. All the food is microwaved and there are no fresh meals except peanut butter sandwiches sometimes. The staff are rude to the children and talk bad about them constantly in front of other children. Some of them play favorites and it shows. Some of the staff are also lazy. Miss Martha would leave an autistic child strapped into a high chair for hours on end just so she didn't have to keep him out of trouble. She would leave him in a soiled diaper all day long, not changing it unless absolutely needed. Then would also send him back to the toddler room so she didn't have to watch him. The toddler room teacher let this boy roam free and just kept an extra close eye on him, which he needed. Another one of the teachers would complete her school work while she was supposed to be monitoring the children. They constantly over ratio the students and the lack of toys and books is disgusting. The toys are kept out of reach of the children and they are not allowed to play with them unless the teacher says. They only have a slim selection of toys as the owner does not want to keep buying them after the kids break them, a typical expense of running a daycare. The books are nonexistent for the same reason. If a child's play breaks anything, she doesn't replace it and leaves no resources for the kids to engage with, constantly getting them in trouble with the teachers for misbehaving due to boredom. And don't even get me started on the lack of care. I witnessed illegal issues and brough it up to the owner only to be ignored after providing the documentation requested. The owner's sister is a joke. She only cooks and never helps with the kids properly. When she does, she's short and rude. Her daughter is also a huge bully to the other students and she tantrums when they don't what she wants to do. The teachers were instructed not to make copies of resources to teach the children. We were told to only print when needed but were expected to keep the children educated and entertained with no resources, educational videos, or worksheets/activities. Some of the staff were very friendly and loved the children like their own, Azra, Pashtoon, and Badriya in particular, but the rest of the staff were short, rude, and cared for only the money. Do not send your child here if you care for them!

I am visiting Scranton with my husband and two year old daughter from Nashville TN. I was hoping to…read morefind a drop in childcare similar to what I use in Nashville for doc visits , etc, was glad to find an even better one!! I found Christianchildcares.com, an in home child care that offered drop in services. When visiting with Janet over the phone she invited me to visit so I did...I immediately felt at home and completely at ease with her and the other children. Her home was very clean and orderly with the children happy and well behaved. I was very impressed!! I am a stay at home mother not really because we can afford it but because I have felt by the day care options where I live due to quality interaction and price we cannot afford for me not to stay home...If Janet was available in Nashville I would feel completely at ease leaving my precious girl with her. Janet has a caring, easy, direct way about her that you will much appreciate!! I encourage you to use her services anytime! She offers caring interaction and activities with your child! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to find her while visiting this city! What a blessing!!

Keep yourself and your children far away from this place. Every experience I've had here--both…read morerecently and in the past--has been consistently negative. The staff are dismissive and rude, and the doctors feel more focused on rushing through appointments than actually helping patients. During my last visit, my doctor completely downplayed my concerns and symptoms. I clearly explained that I cannot take serotonin-based medications because duloxetine once sent me to the ER with serotonin syndrome. Not even two minutes later, he tried prescribing DULOXETINE...WTF!?. I had to interrupt him and repeat myself so he wouldn't put my life in danger again. Any time I tried to talk about what I was experiencing or what medications might actually be appropriate, he cut me off like he didn't have the time or interest. I didn't even have the chance to discuss my symptoms with him. I got about four words in before he cut me off constantly and talk over me. After waiting months just to see "Dr. Muhammad," I walked out feeling unheard and unsupported and honestly, just listening to what this guy had to say I feel like I knew more than my own doctor about mental health. That was my first intake appointment yesterday I went in for my follow up appointment and met my new doctor. Her name was Jeanette Lasher. She was listening country music while I was talking to her and barely acknowledging me, gave me an attitude as if she didn't have time for me just like Dr. Muhammad at my intake appointment. She downplayed my symptoms and tried to prescribe me a medication. I told her I wasn't comfortable with. I feel like every time I have an experience with these people they've just come right out of crazyville! This facility has repeatedly shown a lack of empathy, professionalism, and genuine care. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for mental health treatment. I cannot stress it enough do not take your kids here and do not seek mental health treatment from these people. It's dangerous and you deserve better. You deserve people that actually want to give you all ears and put an effort to make you feel better.
