I worked with Angie to alter my wedding dress. Nothing too fancy. Just shortening the length, sewing on a belt accessory, and adding a bustle. Angie was incredibly professional and talked me through what needed to be done. It never felt like she was trying to upsell me and was incredibly transparent over what certain accessories should cost and where I could look to find them. She quoted me an incredibly affordable price that was way under what others had quoted me (*cough David's Bridal cough*). She did excellent work, and the day of, I felt amazing in my wedding dress. Angie also worked with my Mom to alter her Mother of the Bride dress. My Mom was having a tough time finding a dress that she liked and suited her. Angie was incredibly patient offering my Mom suggestions and working with her when it came to make the final alterations. I really really appreciated all her patience working with my Mom. This was a great experience. If I ever need to get a dress altered in general, I'll be coming back here again. read more

I got married a month ago (10/12/14) and had my dress alterations done here. I bought my dress back in February from a shop in Berkley. The dress was big and definitely needed alterations, but I knew the prices would be outrageous where I bought my dress. With the good ole checklist from "The Knot," I knew I needed to get an alterations appointment around July - August at the absolute latest! I started off by calling alteration shops near my house. The first place I called the lady seemed pressed to get me in there ASAP because she gets busy with Prom & Homecoming. I didn't like her explanation and thought it was weird and kind of soon for me to be bringing my dress in. Prom is generally in May so why would I get alterations 5-6 months before my wedding. Nope not going there! Another place I called there was a bit of a language barrier. I immediately decided not to go there. The last thing I wanted/needed was difficulty in communication while handling alterations for my wedding dress! Umm no. Too important of a task to risk miscommunication. After two strikes I started feeling discouraged. How the heck am I going to find a place to do these alterations that will do great work and I can trust??? Yelp! Duh. Bella Alterations came up and wasn't too far of a commute from my house. I called them to see when I needed to come in and they said August would be fine. There was no pressure to get me in there - strictly informative and completely up to me. I asked when they had available and an appointment was scheduled. I ended up getting scheduled to work that day, so I called to let them know and they were able to accommodate me with a new appt day. I was so happy/relieved! Appt day was great. The ladies were so nice and down to Earth! The one lady (wish I got her name!) felt like an Aunt, and the other two ladies reminded me of my friend's grandma. Very friendly, sweet and blunt/honest. I loved them! Made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in there. The price for alterations was almost half of what I expected to pay! Very pleasant surprise. They told me the dress would be ready in 4 weeks. I went back for my dress in a month. Fit perfectly! The bustle was two buttons - which made it easier than having to have someone tie up my dress. Yuck! They told me I could leave my dress there and pick it up the week of the wedding if I wanted - which I did. I picked it up 3 days before my wedding, paid for the alterations, and asked them to press/steam my veil for me. I didn't try on my dress again until the wedding day, and it still fit perfect. Luckily! I realize I should've tried it on again, but figured had I gained weight not much could be done in 3 days. Lol! I know my matron of honor had a little difficulty buttoning the bustle, but I think it was just because it was either too stiff or too much fabric. Not 100%, but I know there weren't any issues with it once she got it - it remained in place the entire night! Couldn't be any happier with my experience with the women at Bella Alterations! I'll refer anyone I know in need of alterations to them - they're that great. Wish I had a reason to go back to them, such great people! read more

I am a procrastinator by nature and these ladies work fast!! Within a week my dress was ready and perfect. Highly recommend.

Angela did a beautiful job on the alterations for my wedding dress. I got my dress as part of a sample sale and it was slightly too big. I also lost a few pounds between buying the dress in December 2021 and the wedding in August 13. Angela made the dress look amazing. She is very skilled at her craft, calm, and super professional. She also provides high-quality alterations for a very affordable price. I had 3 fittings overall and got many compliments on my dress. My bridesmaids said it literally looked that it was made just for me. Angela also was amazing at doing the alterations for my flower girl's dress, who I was not actually able to the shop due to conflicting schedules and her mom's very recent delivery of a new baby girl. Instead, Angela gave me instructions on how to pin the flower girls dress and between that and some videos I took of her in the dress, Angela was able to do the perfect alteration of the hem. If you want beautiful alterations on time that won't break your bank, go to Bella Alterations. Angela is awesome! read more

They will take care of you. Genuine people who are Experts with alterations. She not only altered my wedding dress to fit me, but helped me redesign it to make it my own! She has a solution to every problem and it is well executed. This could've been a stressful process, but she made it so easy. Thank you! read more

Bella alterations is FABULOUS. I have several upcoming formal events, and had several dresses/jumpsuits that needed some alterations. They are so friendly and professional. When I went in to try on and pick up my clothes, one of the jumpsuits was a tad too tight. 10 minutes later, it was perfect! Everything was completed exactly to my specifications, and the fit was perfect. To top It all off, they charged me less than they had originally quoted me! Super happy customer over here. Thank you Bella Alterations! I will be back and will send all my friends read more

My daughters and I recently went to Bella Alterations in preparation for my daughter's wedding. I and two of my daughters had our dresses hemmed/altered by Angela. The bride also had Angela do her alterations. We could not be more satisfied with the results, especially my daughter's wedding gown. Her dress was two or three times too big, but looked custom made when Angela was done! I will definitely be recomending Angela and Bella Alterations in the future. read more

The women at this place are miracle workers!!! I had been dreaming of a backless wedding dress and refused to be a bride who wears strapless. That being said, I of course fell in love with a dress that happened to originally be strapless and have a covered back. I took the dress to these two lovely women and they said no problem! In the end, I ended up with my dream dress...backless and with crystal straps. When everyone else looked at me like I was crazy for my alteration hopes, these two saw the possibility alongside me and had the talent to make it a reality! I cannot thank them enough for giving me my truly one-of-a-kind wedding dress! read more

I found Bella's on Yelp so I figured I'd pay it forward and review myself! I needed quite a bit done to my dress - several layers of tulle hemmed, waist taken in, cups added, and the bow reworked into sleeves. Everything considered, I think I got a great deal!! The dress fit absolutely flawlessly. The ladies at Bella's are well organized and clearly know what they are doing. read more

After doing a lot of research on where to get my wedding dress fitted and altered, I finally started going to places for an appointment. Bella Alterations was the only place that put me at ease about what alterations they would be doing and they listened to what I wanted. My dress had quite a bit of work done and I wanted an illusion neckline and back with buttons added. The final result was amazing and I couldn't be happier. They did a fantastic job and went above and beyond to make my dress perfect. I also had my MOH's dress altered here as well as my brother's suit pants. Everyone was happy. Did I mention their prices are affordable and fair? I recommend them to everyone! read more

If you want great alterations this is the place to go! Got a bridesmaid dress altered here. When I went to pick it up, it felt a little tight up top but stupidly I was in a rush and figured it would be fine. Two days before the wedding I tried on the dress and it would barely hook and was sooo tight!! I knew I'd be so uncomfortable at the wedding. I called and they told me to come in. I drove straight there and they let it out while I waited...only took about 30 minutes. They also didn't charge me for the fix. I'm so thankful to them, and they alleviated a lot of anxiety at a high stress time. Highly recommend them if you want quality alterations! read more

Really happy with my dress! I got a bridesmaid dress altered here and it came out perfectly. The appointment was fast and the turn around time was about 2 weeks. It was inexpensive too! I'd happily go here again. read more

Best experience! The owners are so friendly and fast! Took my bridesmaid dress there and they took in the sides on the bust and hemmed the bottom of the dress. It was promised on the 11th and it was done and fit perfectly. Also the price for all the work was only $70 very reasons for all the work. read more

Angela is incredible! She was so nice, flexible, professional, knowledgeable, and great to work with. She was able to take in my wedding dress about four sizes, shorten it, modify the decals, and create a bustle that looked great, all for a very reasonable price and working with my schedule. I absolutely recommend her business! read more

I had been looking for a professional seamstress and I stumbled across this wonderful place reading the yelp reviews. I decided to take a chance and boy I'm glad I did. My bridesmaid dress needed to be altered at the bottom and the arms adjusted. It was ready in a week and it fits like glove! I can't wait to wear it to my sisters wedding. read more

I'm a bridesmaid in 3 weddings and each bride asked us to get our dresses from a popular bridal salon. Of course each dress fit completely different and needed alterations. After a quick yelp search I found Bella Alterations with very positive reviews so I figured I'd try them out. I just picked up the 2 dresses I needed altered and they are perfect. The cost was $70 and it was worth every penny - especially since one dress was so big I was practically swimming in it. I will definitely be back for any future alterations and will recommend this place! read more

Nothing but great things to say. I left getting alterations done on a bridesmaid dress until the last minute. They were able to do it quickly and for a great price. The work was perfect and I will be coming back for all my future alterations! read more

After having a dress disaster with the alterations performed by the salon I bought my dress from I was sent by the salon to Angela at Bella Alterations. The disaster was identified on Weds, my wedding was on Saturday, we were assured by Angela that we could come in Thurs AM and try the dress on and it would be fixed. We showed up on schedule and tried it on, while Angela had done an amazing job correcting the issue of the bridal salon we quickly noticed that the last set of alterations the bridal salon was supposed to have performed were not done and the dress was several inches too big in the hips! I immediately started freaking out, Angela calmed me down and assured me she could and would fix it in 1 hour and we could grab a bite then come back and try it on. She called in 50 minutes and said it was complete. I tried it on (second time that day) and it fit like a glove. Not only was Angela extremely professional and sweet but she did beautiful work as well! I have Angela to thank for making me look great on my wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional service and professional quality! read more

Bella Alterations did a great job on my wedding dress, which fit like it was made for me on my wedding day! They are efficient, on time, and also reasonably priced. As soon as I had my first fitting, I felt comfortable that my dress was in good hands. When I came to pick it up a few days before my wedding, my dress and veil were steamed, pinned up to keep its shape, and put into a larger dress bag. Even after a long drive up north, we didn't need to steam it or touch it up the day of the wedding. I will be going to Bella for all my alterations in the future! read more

I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. I needed an emergency alteration done to my bridal gown. After going to several other establishments I found Bella's. Not only did they alter my gown in 24 hours they charged me less than the other stores quotes. Thank you once again!!! read more

The only place to go for alterations! She does such a great job. Had my dress within a week for New Year's. It needed so much done; hems, a bustle, waist taken in, the works. She is great, you won't be disappointed. read more

If you need anything altered I highly recommend Bella Alterations. I took a bridesmaid dress and wedding dress here, and the prices were very reasonable. I was actually surprised since they both needed a lot of work. My wedding dress was way too big, way too long, and needed a bustle added, and after a few fittings it fit like a glove. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was and I'm so glad I took it here! read more

I got my wedding dress altered here and it was such a great experience. They had me come in only two months before the wedding for my first fitting. After that I came back at the end of the month to try it on. Then they kept it for a few final alterations before I picked it up about a week before the wedding. It was steamed for me and they put cardboard in it to keep its shape. I didn't even need to do any steaming touch ups on the big day - it looked great. On top of that, my dress from was a size too big with cap sleeves, and the salon I bought it from told me to budge about $600 for alterations - Bella only charged me $300! read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about Bella Alterations. I recently got married and had my wedding dress altered here. The owner is spectacular and works miracles. She has been a dress maker since she was a child, and it is very obvious that she knows what she's doing! After much searching, I found the perfect bridal gown, but it was a corset back, which was not what I had in mind. I ended up getting the dress (10 sizes bigger!) and having the back altered. Now, I probably wouldn't advise other brides to do this since the dress ended up needing a lot of work, but Bella Alterations did exactly what I wanted to and transformed the dress into a zipper back! I ended up making a couple of trips to get fitted, but it ended up fitting absolutely perfectly and I couldn't be happier! read more

Great service, quick turn around and my bridesmaid dress now fits perfect and looks wonderful!!

I cannot begin to say enough good things about Angela at Bella Alterations! She took an actual disaster and moved mountains! I had a different woman making my wedding dress who wound up in the hospital and left my dress at 5% finished 5 weeks away from my wedding day right as the holidays approached. Not only did Angela take this project on when all I handed her were scraps and a vision of combining two different dress ideas, but she completed the dress in two days and did the final touches and fittings all within a week...exactly the way I had dreamed!!! On top of that, she was conscientious of the money I had already spent and my budget limitations and kept me within my budget! Again, if you have any doubts or questions, PLEASE go see Angela. You will not be disappointed! read more

Angela at Bella Alterations is absolutely incredible. Her work is impeccable and timely. She altered my wedding dress to ensure a perfect fit, and crafted a cover up for me from extra fabric. Her bustle was beautiful and professional. She hemmed my lace in a way that preserved all the fine details. She also altered a second dress for my wedding weekend. She was so reassuring and knowledgeable. I felt utterly comfortable and at ease at an otherwise stressful time. Her prices are extremely reasonable. I almost got into a fight with a colleague about who had the better wedding alterations expert until we realized we were talking about the same person!!!!! I recommend Angela to everyone I know. read more

I had Bella alter my wedding dress. My dress had a lot of work to be done, and they quoted me a fair price and I had received a rave review from a co-worker. I brought my dress in about 6 months before my wedding, and after several appointments making changes, my dress was transformed. I had a weight change the week before the wedding and the fix was made in a hour with little issue. I cannot recommend this place enough, they did a wonderful job on my dress (which was not an easy job) and my bridal party (including my mother and grandmother) all used them for their formal dresses with no complaints. I HIGHLY recommend using Bella!!!!!!! read more

Angela did the alterations on a bridesmaid dress for me that was about 3 sizes too big. She only charged me $80 when the bridal shop I bought it from wanted to do the same alterations for $200!!!! She got it done in 4 days for me also- super fast! She was efficient, professional and super quick-- plus her work is impeccable. Def. I am not surprised Bella Alterations has 5 stars. I got married in August2016 and my dress was beyond gorgeous after the alterations. Very compassionate too. I had my mom pass away not long before my wedding and had a blur flower sewn into my dress at no extra cost. I was so touched...I could tell they care about their customers. I was just beyond happy with the fit of my dress, the timing it was done and just everything. It was sooo easy and stress free most of all. I LOVE this place. BRIDES GO HERE. Reasonable prices too. read more

I bought my wedding dress from a boutique in Birmingham that was going to charge me over 600$ for alterations. When I had ordered the dress, I ordered a size 8, and by the time I received the dress 6 months later I had become a size 4. I had already been a bridesmaid for 5 other weddings, so I knew 600$ was excessive for alterations. I was referred to Bella Alterations by a friend of mine who had her wedding dress and all of her bridesmaids dresses altered there. The owner at Bella offered to do my dress for less than half of the price estimate that was given to me by my boutique. I am so happy with the outcome! First of all, the dress fits like a glove and I was very very picky. She will do multiple fittings/alterations with you (I believe I had at least 4) for no extra charge - even if you lose weight. My entire upper body is lace, and the alterations are flawless. Five stars for beautiful alterations, multiple fittings, friendly service, and very reasonable pricing! read more
