So if you are reading this, you maybe looking for a wedding chapel. So let me make this useful: 1. The interior has been repainted white, so if you are looking at photos on Yelp, anything maroon is outdated. It actually looks quite simple and charming inside. The lighting through the windows makes for some good photography. The greenery outside will give you a good back drop through the windows. 2. The basement looks newly renovated, and has a full kitchen. They do not have everything in the kitchen you might need, so make notes and take photos to help you plan. 3. If the bride is mean, don't go in the dressing room next to the kitchen. She might be in there. 4. The back entrance is ADA accessible. It has a ramp. You can take some photos here where you lean on the railing, lined up in a row like at a prom. People might not be willing to do that in the rain, but whatever, their loss. 5. There are two bathrooms in the back entrance. One is slightly better than the other; you can guess which one they made nicer. I know because I deserve the best when I am my most vulnerable, even if bridesmaids have to wait. It's not their wedding. Bathrooms are a bit tight, ADA folks may need help. 6. The bell works. You can ring it. I did not. Not my wedding either. It is an euphonious sound. 7. The piano inside works. I am tone death so I don't know if it was well tuned. 8. The place is 100+ years old. It is now well seasoned firewood. I can't tell you what to do, but don't use candles unless you want to make the evening news for the wrong reasons. Which reminds me: 9. I have never seen or felt a ghost anywhere. That includes this place now. It is probably not haunted. Congratulations on your forth coming wedding. I'm sorry for not liking this chapel more but there were just enough little things that I couldn't justify a higher ranking. I recently went to this chapel for the wedding of a very good friend so was involved in the rehearsal, set up, etc. And though I was impressed with the site, it wasn't until I decided to write the review that I discovered the cost. On one hand I was amazed at how high the price was (let me preface that by saying I got married more than 20 years ago so my ideas of pricing might be a bit skewed), yet I also was impressed with how much is included in that pricing. The chapel, the dressing area, the candleabras, the podium, etc. While the church area is beautiful, the reception area well appointed, and the grounds in the back lovely for an outdoor function, there was limited space for the bridal party to get dressed and virtually no area for the groomsmen to get ready. There was also a limited amount of space downstairs to prep the food. The biggest issue I noticed was because the chapel sits so close to the road there was quite a lot of road noise bleeding through. Fortunately we were here solely for the wedding so while the changing area and road noise was a bit problematic, the other issues didn't come in to play. read more

I've been to two different baby showers held at the Bell Tower Chapel. Both showers were held outside and this place is beautiful! The luscious grass and large tree make me think of The Secret Garden--it has that vintage charm with the white picket fence too . This chapel would be a great place for family reunions--I've even thought about hosting a large extended family Thanksgiving here, maybe we'll do it this year! read more

I can remember as a little girl visiting a chapel just like this with my grandmother. It totally takes me back. If your looking for simple country charm to that classic elegant style for your wedding day venue, the Bell Tower is it! Bell towers staff is incredibly helpful and great to work with! The location is set in a quiet country town of Boring, Or and is beautifully landscaped! As a photographer I can't stop talking about this place to my brides looking for country charm and elegance. For me the windows just ooz country elegance and old country charm! On the outside the window frames set the tone for the Chapel and on the inside the light just radiates !!! I will get a lot of pictures with these windows as their background! Not to mention the gorgeous chandeliers that will make any bride feel like a princes. Once you've said "I DO" don't forget to ring that Bell for the whole town to hear! It reminds me of that song..."Going to the chapel and Im gonna get married!" We got married here in May, and it was fantastic. The chapel has a good small town feel that hit right at home for me, and is something you really only see in movies and shows. Plus, the chapel has a working bell that we got to ring quite a few times right at the end of our ceremony. Super fun. The chapel is great if you want comfortable seating for about a 100-person ceremony inside. The outdoor area in the back is even bigger, and we honestly had to make a tough call if we wanted it outside because it is a great setup. We ended up using the outdoor area for the reception. Honestly, the best part of booking this place was the owner and caretaker, Cristi. Super attentive and helpful throughout the entire process. She answers questions quickly and honestly, and worked really hard to help us brainstorm ideas when plans looked like they were falling apart. If you are able to book her as an on-site coordinator, I think she's completely worth the money. Also, if you're planning on using the outdoor area and want to make sure you're prepped for rain. At the time of our wedding, we found that a 20'x80' tent fits pretty comfortably in the back area. I probably wouldn't go any further than 80', but it housed our 90-100 guests comfortably with a bar. 5/5 Would re-marry my wife here again. Helped put a wedding together here. This place was lovely, the improvements (better paint, wider doors) made it better than we had planned. Easily kept the 75ish guests comfortable, plenty of room, nice to have both indoors and out. We used The Bell Tower Chapel in Boring for our July wedding. We can't express enough how perfect the chapel was for us. We had approximately 100 guests and the space worked out wonderfully. The chapel has old turn of the century charm with updated modern conveniences. The grounds are beautiful for an outdoor reception in the warmer months. The proprietors were great to work with and went out of their way to make sure our day was perfect. We would use the Chapel again for not only a wedding but for any other event. We gladly give The Bell Tower Chapel a five star rating. read more

I went to a very-good-friend-of-mine's wedding July 26 2014. The love that was there that day quickly filled this cozy venue. Based on the reviews you'd think they would not repeat the miscommunication error, but my friend ended up having a colliding rehearsal schedule leaving them holding their breathes till the day of the wedding wondering if they would have double booked that too. Thankfully there was only that one scheduled however stomachs were uneasy till that day. Turns out my friend booked the rehearsal with the owner and the other couple booked with the agent. Agent and owner didn't communicate bringing both families there fighting over the rehearsal space (they said it wasn't pretty, people arguing over who is right, people deliberately occupying aisle space wasting each others time from rehearsal until it was finally settled over the phone). Thankfully since my friend booked with the owner they were "technically" in the right however that was a bit unfair to the other couple and still a bit worry-some to my friend. After that I bet they packed up armor just in case they had to fight their way down the aisle with another couple! haha. In all seriousness though, weddings are already stressful, there is no need to add to it. Plus side the venue is beautiful providing plenty of great photo opportunities! They chose an outdoor arrangement, but could have easily brought the tables indoor if the rain decided to partake. I saw the prices online (yes I'm that nosy friend!!) and I thought they were very reasonable for a wedding venue, in fact ,one of the lowest I've seen. Parking is very limited however the venue size is also so with a max of 125 people without a reception, but with reception (the more popular choice) is only 90 people max. Even so there really wasn't that many parking spaces available and required a few rows of triple parking just so some guest wouldn't have to walk the distance. My friends were aware of that so they must have done some carpooling with the bridal party providing more space for guests (or I was just too early to not have any trouble with it even with being in a middle of a triple park). In a Giffy... Pros: Price, Picturesque (both indoor and out), catering (you can bring one or use theirs), ease of access for DJ. Neutral: Size (with 90-125 people max, it caused a little tension on who to invite, but if you wanted something on the smaller scale already or don't have a big family this would be great for you), 3 bathroom (2 technically public, 1 downstairs for the bridal party which I still used after eating too much cake!!). What do you do when you want a chapel wedding but you don't want everyone to have to drive to a seperate reception location? You book your wedding at The Bell Tower Chapel in Boring. This old church dates back to the late 1800's I think, the original bells still ring in the tower. The stain glass windows, chandeliers, raised alter, wooden pews all come together to make a storybook wedding feel. The bride and groom ring in their marriage themselves at this location. Before exiting the chapel they pull the rope together and ring the bells. The banquet room is nice for small groups or you can push the pews to the walls and open up both rooms together. The 1/2 acre grounds are nicely landscaped and a great place for photos, outdoor reception. Reasonably priced, Air conditioned, bridal room downstairs, sound system and some decor provided. No hassle, convenient, great photo opps. I give it a big thumbs up and recommend it to many clients. read more

My husband and I just had our wedding here on October 17. We changed locations with about 5 months until the wedding, and this seemed to fit the price. However a 250 dollar security deposit and a 95 dollar cleaning fee was a little steep. Even if I did get the whole deposit back. The location is beautiful. It is super versatile accommodating pretty much any color scheme. The chandeliers are amazing and the grounds are plentiful (though my wedding happened to fall on the rainiest day of the week...yay... The main con is you do all the work yourself. All the set up, clean up, food set out, everything is on you. Now the price does include a rehearsal but it is almost 100 more dollars than we paid. I feel like for as much work as you have to put in that you should get the original price I paid and a rehearsal. The place was spotless when we left, one of my bridesmaids swept the entire floor, we took out all the trash, all to get our deposit back. The Owner is super friendly and reasonable and was willing to work with us when we had an issue with our bank account (Comcast took out a triple payment from our account...those a holes) The only thing that I didn't get was the gate code so my husband had to frantically call them that day so we could get into the wedding. Overall: Pros- Beautiful location, all in one site, clean, versatile, good communication, and experience. Cons-set up/clean up does not match the price. read more

We picked this venue for our wedding because it has beautiful inside and outside areas, so we could have the ceremony inside if it rained. It ended up being a nice day, and we had the ceremony outside in the grass in front of the white arch/gate, and it was perfect. Patrick Connolly was very responsive to emails and texts, and the whole event went very smoothly because of his help. Couldn't have a picked a better place to get married. read more

We love everything about the Bell Tower Chapel. It is beautiful, quaint, elegant and charming all rolled into one. We had our ceremony outside on the most beautiful June day imaginable. The grass was green, the tree provided shade and the chapel was cool inside to protect the precious wedding cake. All of our guests raved at the beauty of the location. It was a dream come true and a day of complete happiness and joy. Patrick is a joy to work with and never once lost his patience with me, even when I was losing my mind! I'm a local florist in Happy Valley who has designed for many weddings in and around the Portland Metro Area and Vancouver. The Bell Tower is my favorite place to design flowers for because of the beauty, history and lovely feel of the Chapel and surrounding areas. It's truly a pleasure to walk into this special place as a florist and "do my magic" to help create a beautiful memory for bridal couple. While the space was lovely I was unimpressed with the way they handle the business aspects of booking the space. We called to find out if it was available for my upcoming wedding date and was told that it was available. Then we were told that there was another party interested in it for the morning, and it would be available after 1pm and they had called first so it was "first come first serve". We wanted the space and said that we were willing to come and put the 1/2 payment down right away to reserve it, and was told "no", which was a little understandable. So, we waited for our day of the appt to see what time it would be available, and low and behind the owner (who lives in Montana) called my mother and told her that the other party had canceled their appt and that we could go in earlier to see it. We were so thrilled and went there, we were not only on time, but 5 minutes early. We went through the whole tour and right as we were sitting down to hand over the money and sign papers the other party showed up saying that they were promised the facility. After contacting the owner, she sided with the party that had originally had the appointment. None of that says "first come first serve" to me. But, furthermore, she apparently cannot keep track of her own messages regarding dates, appts, etc. After talking to the second bride we came to find out that she had been promised the date for the whole day, so in reality, it had never been "available" to begin with. And my family and fiance and I wasted our time and a week of looking for other sites for our wedding. We also found out from the bride that she had spoken to the owner and told her that she wanted the space and would be at the appt, so why were we ever told it was canceled? I would say that you make sure while dealing with these people that the date is really really available, but unfortunately due to her living in another state there is really no way of knowing forsure.
