John T Bell Realty was OK, but just OK Meaning (Not Bad and Not The Best but in the Middle) When Mary Jane Bell was the Property Manager and in the office all the time. Property Management can be a thankless Job sometimes and they did have lots of Properties they managed. However, when they switched over to Rhonda, I began having Tons of Troubles with things like Rhonda sending me the Security Deposit of a Renter knowing they had Moved Out before their lease was Up (Like the 11th Month of the lease or so) and without telling me that I was receiving the security deposit rather than the Rent Check. I also have always had an issue with Bell Realty and "Carpets" I 'm not sure what it is With them and "Carpet" but they do not "Professionally" have them Cleaned or Barely Cleaned at all from Renter to Renter which poses a Problem both for the Property Owner and the Renter. The Renter signed this on the Lease, that the Carpet will be "Professionally Cleaned" upon MoveOut. It is Bell Realty's Job to see that this happens, it never did--and this is my Chief Complaint with them. Which means if you allow them to manage your property, Make sure to check on the Carpet Cleaning during the last Walk Through to make sure that the renters have done as they contracted, in the Rental Lease. This is not good. I have chosen to give John T Bell Realty three stars rather than two because for most of the around 5 years I was with them, Mary Jane Bell Managed My Property there in Goldsboro and she did a fine job. I don't know what happened when the Change Over Occurred, maybe the new Woman Rhonda was just needing to learn the Ropes. They are FAR Better than EAGLES/ReMax--who get's an F-Minus, Minus, Minus, Minus. Do Not allow EAGLES or EPI Property Management to Manage Anything for You. I will write their review later. These are things people need to know, especially those out of owners who do not know "Goldsboro" ( Like Me but am quickly learning that it can be Nasty) and the "street lingo" about the way they do business in Goldsboro, which is many times is not good. Not Always, but sometimes. I hope this review helps someone who is in need of a Good Property Manager. I think I have found a Good one in DEES and TYNDALL, YAY! I will write more later so that you will know who do go to, and who not to go to--if you need some recommendations and this Woman's recommendation ( Bria M,) is truthful-with the exception of 'Rhonda Always Protecting the Property Manager' because I never felt that I had any help at all from Rhonda and actually had the exact opposite. It's important for Property Managers to check references and credit checks ahead of signing contracts so your property does not get Slam Torn Up. Recently applied to this company w/ the recommendation of a co worker. Viewed the apartment and submitted the application and fee, which at the time my co worker decides to submit one as well. Ironically she gets approved and I was denied to be told that my credit wasn't good enough... yet checked my credit and no inquiry had been submitted at all!!! Wow... considering I have good rental history and meet the income requirements. Bad business!! read more

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! If would not give a star if I could! Looked at 2 different properties from this company just to have them say that the property didn't except pets. Dealt with them for 3 weeks, knowing we specifically said that we had a dog. When we put the application in the front desk girl asked us what kind and how old our pet was, only to turn around literally 2 seconds later to say that they don't except them. when we asked to see the property manager she came out, not only did she not introduce herself but she immediately started to raise her voice and spoke with aggression with her hands. The unorganized chaos is not worth dealing with. Don't go there unless you want your time wasted and be lied to. read more

NEVER rent or buy from this place. I have never experienced such rude and unprofessional practices. We applied for a house that said pets allowed only for them to deny both of our pets AFTER we applied and put down our deposit. They also weren't going to tell us we couldn't have our animals until it was too late to get the deposit back, but luckily we asked before the deadline, otherwise we would've been out $800. The entire process was unprofessional and Alex is the rudest, nastiest person i've ever had to deal with. John Bell Reality has been a great rental agency. The ladies in the office are extremely patient and helpful. I won't lie we had a ton of problems with the house we rented (no fault of the rental company) and for the most part they always sent someone right out and tried to fix the problem. Mark their handyman is awesome and always does a great job. As far as move out goes we made sure the house was well cleaned, the carpets were cleaned, and the lawn was taken care of. If you follow the cleaning check list you will be fine. They gave us our full deposit back without any issues. I would highly recommend this rental company. read more

We own a house in Goldsboro and used John T. Bell as the property manager for 3 years. We got orders back to Goldsboro and decided to move into the house again. Rhonda, the property manager, assured us the house was "move-in ready" after the last renters moved out. It was not. First, the house must've been left open after the renters moved out, as there was an infestation of flies (and their associated turd marks). Second, the vinyl floors peeled up in all rooms (the flooring company said they could've fixed it if they knew about it earlier). Third, the renters burned the siding on the back porch. Fourth, the renters left a bed and several personal items in the garage, plus about 100 moving boxes in the attic (from when they moved into the house). Fifth, there was an invasive vine growing into the side of the house (I found it in the attic). Finally, all of our neighbors told us they were glad our renters moved out, because they were a menace to the neighborhood. There were several other small issues (to be expected when you rent out a house). I understand having bad renters. But, we paid this company $3750 in management fees over 3 years to guard our interest (the house was only 10 months old when we moved out - we paid $210,000 for the house). The worst part was their attitude. Mary Jane and Rhonda never took responsibility for doing a poor walk-through of our house or for neglecting to care for our property. Rhonda even went as far as saying, "I can't be here 24 hours a day." The money we spent on management fees would've been better saved for repairs. read more

I have been looking to rent for months now, uploaded every app possible. With little or no feedback when inquiring about a property this task was becoming a pain. I inquired about 2 properties with John Bell realty and Rhonda called within a day to let me know they had applications. Bummer right, no she made some calls and found a home that is better than the ones I had called about!! We are applying right away and I can not wait to move and work with Rhonda during our lease!! read more

An awful property management company! Ronda is extremely unprofessional any time it comes to actually getting things done. Her go to excuse is she is "protecting the property owner" As a rental property owner myself, part of owning a home is having expenses relating to upkeep and maintenance.
