I received a traffic citation and just like…read moreeveryone that gets a tickets, I got 2 dozen letters in the mail from different attorney offices saying they can handle my case. I am not from the Asheboro area and don't know anything about any of them. However, their letter got my attention so I called. The lady on the phone was nice and explained that all I needed to do was complete the "Waiver of Appearance" and include my credit card and email it to her. So that is was I did on Dec 16th. My court date was Jan 6th. I thought everything was all going to be taken care of. On Jan 30th, I haven't heard anything from them so I called to find out how I need to pay the court. The lady told me that my paperwork was not received. I sent her the email that I sent back in December and she agrees that I sent it to the right place. However, since it is passed my court date now the cost has increased more than 3 times. WOW! Basically they have screwed me and there is nothing I can do about it. I guess their business strategy is....let's ignore the paperwork the first time we receive it and then once it is passed the court date then we can charge clients more. What a great way for them to make a little extra money!!!!
