I went into the fine jewelry department today. A month ago I purchased an emerald pendant for my wifes birthday for $600. She wanted matching earrings. The clerk acted like I was putting her out asking about them. Discustedly asked if I used a Belk card or service agreement. I asked if she could look up my name or phone as we had purchased several items in the past. Cant do it, slapped a stack of sales slips on the counter and said she would have to look through them to find the number of the pendant I bought. Another clerk came over and said she would look in the EFFE book to find a copy. After many sighs and eye rolls they found the item. Now could not find any earrings anywhere near a match and the only ones were $2,000. All in all a terrible experience, and last time I will buy anything there. read more

Pros An associate working every 25 feet. Sanitation throughout the store was exceptional. Restrooms where well clean, sanitary and appeared to be on a scheduled a maintenance. Cons No one spoke to us, I said hello to one associate and they responded in kind. Waited at one check out area and 2 Associates in other booths nearby paid no mind to their environment. In fact one associate was counting there till 10 and saw us as she was speaking to another in another booth behind us informing her that she was done for the day. She then came out from behind counter and appeared to be heading in our Direction then turned the opposite direction, and left. Pro and con The app for checking prices and discounts was nice but at the same time a required having to constantly pull your phone out the check the prices to make sure since none of the reduced prices was on the product just a sign it's her narrative saying 60% off or 10% off. I appreciate your cleaning and safety measures but when you closed all those registers it was before Covid. But now it is imperative that you make more available. Standing in line for a long period of time is not recommended. The CDC indicates if you go indoors you should get what you want and go. I circled the store 3 times looking for a checkout and ended up in a line of women at the cosmetic counter with the same problem. Your customers are mostly over 65. The most vulnerable of all populations. Just yesterday we have 59 new cases in the Villages. There were employees with their mask on their chin or so it doesnt cover the nose. One of your clerks said to me Ill pass out from the CO2. Thats literally impossible for a normal healthy female. Dead people can't shop. And I'll be shopping at Amazon, Ulta and Macy's until the problem is fixed. read more

This is a very specific review not necessarily of Belks store overall but of the shoe department. There was a woman who works there named Karen who is the most patient and kind employee. Honestly have not been in that store for what feels like years and it was a pleasant surprise being bright clean and very organized. They had a dynamic sale and I got Madden sandals for women generally $50 on sale for 27 purchased four of them Surprisingly Belks was a find for me. Everytime the intimate section has a good sale I always go restock on the things I need. However, the last few years I have went the same rude woman has been there. Not friendly at all. A spazz. Everytime I go to check out her system is down. I ask her a question and get a rude answer or she raises her voice at me. I don't bother talking to a manager because they've tolerated her behavior for years now-yes I'm talking about you L. Another worker could see my frustration growing when I wasn't being treated properly, and she was very helpful and offered me coupons for being treated the way I was. Hanna did a great job and made me feel better about my past experiences. read more

Yesterday I went into Belk's in Lady Lake, FL...and thought that I had walked into a rummage sale...the carpeting is filthy...departments are in disarray...no one could help me at the Estee Lauder counter..she had left. Like all Belk's, this is your typical, slightly upscale, department store. They try to be a Macy's but don't quite make it. Don't often find good sales here but then, I don't come very often either! Surprise - on this visit, we found the service personnel to be very helpful. For the area, Beall's, Kohl's ofter better choices with comparable or better prices. read more

There is never enough help. I like the merchandise although, the prices are high and IF they have a coupon, it cannot be used on most affordable merchandise. What really surprised me was the amount of clothing in the fitting rooms left by customers who had tried them on. I felt like I could have shopped better and found more things by going through the items on the unwanted rake and items still hanging in the fitting rooms. The rake hanging the unwanted items had so much on it that it looked like it was going to fall over and some of the items had fallen on the floor. Even the merchandise displayed on the tables ( i.e, folded capris, tee shirts, etc. ) were such a mess that it was too frustrating to go through everything to find the right size. I realize that customers can be difficult and they are the culprits but if there are not enough sales associates to straighten and clean out the fitting rooms, then it isn't a store that I care to shop in. My time is worth more then having to sift through mountains of clothing just to find what I am looking for. read more
