I don't know how the service is at night in the Garner Belks, but the long daytime waits to pay for items has got to be killing this business. I have shopped Belks my whole life in different cities, looking for good reductions in items to dress up my wardrobe, nice jewelry, and quality beddings and linens. The customer service was as excellent as the products they sell, A+. And then there is this store.... I cannot understand why this store only has 1-2 cashiers working in the store at a time. There have been several times I picked out several items to purchase but did not have another 30-45 minutes to wait in the long lines. I dropped the items I intended to buy ($75.00-$300) on a random rack and had to keep my appointments elsewhere. I end up buying similar items from other stores and online, and don't go back to that Belks for 6 months. I waited 40 minutes again today, and the people waiting with me were as frustrated and disgusted as I was. This store has no respect for their customers, our needs, and our busy schedules. If your cashiers can't quickly handle Clients' payments and questions, they need more training or be assigned other duties where they don't interact with the public as much. People trying to check out also shouldn't have to wait behind people making returns. Today I waited 42 minutes to get to a cashier to pay for my items, behind 5 other customers. read more

William Henry Belk is probably rolling over in his grave right now. I've never walked into such a pit of a store in my life. You can barely walk between the racks because of all of the clothes on the ground. There's several seasons' of clothes shoved into every available space. I can't believe it's not a fire hazard. What finally made me turn around and walk out is when I pulled a dress off a rack and the whole rack collapsed like a pile of toothpicks. Stores complain that people are shopping online? I had an issue with a product that I brought from the store a while back. I called prior to going to the store and spoke to a manager that advised me that she could assist me with my problem. Once I arrived she did just that. Another employee that I came in contact was also very helpful and personable during our interaction. The store had several great sales on clothing and shoes during my visit. I wish I had more time to shop at that time. read more

This is a very large outdoor shopping center which seems to operate both sides of Garner Station Road at the intersection of US-70 and US-401. Gigantic parking area and great visibility in the parking lot. I like that it's hard to sneak up on me. I shopped at Belk in Garner yesterday, 11/2/2024, and was very disappointed in the women's section. They have so many clothes jammed in, it is hard to get around. The carpet was strewn with tags, strings, etc., and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed/cleaned in a very long time. I think I had rather drive a bit further and have a better shopping experience than I did yesterday. read more

I have been a customer of Belk for several years. Recently I placed an order online. One of the items was wrong and looked "cheap". I went to a Belk store to return the item and receive a refund. I was informed that Belk farms orders to something called "Marketplace" and I would have to contact them. I have made 4 attempts to contact them to return the item and receive a refund. I have not received a response from them at all. I contacted Belk customer service and was informed I would have to contact these people at Seller Name: Sanchez Service Phone: (941) 5298576 Email: sanchezservicecares@outlook.com After a couple of weeks, still no response from them. I contacted Belk again with no satisfaction. I now have a poor quality item that was not what I ordered and out the money as well. Until this order I have never had an issue with Belk. They have most if what I need from a brick and mortar store or will get it shipped to them postage free. They will also shop for you and deliver to your car. I rarely buy things unless they are on sale - their sales are outrageously fantastic. Buy 1 get 2 free! I support them as much as possible hoping they don't get shuttered. read more

The main manager of this store is extremely rude but the employees are wonderful. Don't know how they put up with her. God Bless them.

Just left there (Jan 3) and this place is wiped out!! So much I questioned the cashier, whom was super nice and energetic. He said that they were going to inventory today. Wow oh wow! I can understand bringing inventory down for that but it was the store was about to close. Even with this pandemic and Christmas rush they shouldn't never be that low. This store is smaller because it carries very little inventory and does Not carry Any "high end" items at all. I bought a Frye bag at the mall Belks but the best hand bag you can hope for is in the under $75.00 range and either brown or black. The same story applies to all departments. They never answer the phone if you call so don't bother either. Very hard to find a clerk there too. read more

This is the Hudson Belk to shop when you don't want to be bothered with the crowds of the mall. It's located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The store is well stocked despite the smaller footprint.The staff is friendly even though the store seems understaffed at times. The clothing selection is comparable to Kohls. read more

Yes, it is a smaller store. Yes, things aren't always organized and tidy. But the customer service is great. I have always found them to be helpful and for the most part, happy. Here's a tip, I worked in retail for many yrars- if the clerk isn't friendly or seems grumby, give them a big smile and tell her you love dress or earrings or shoes. Their mood will change. No, you shouldn't have to do it, but why not? You made someone happy and voila, your customer service experience just got a lot better. read more

DISORGANIZED! Clearance clothing and regular priced on same racks, no attempt to organize by size! Ironically I stood in a long and slow line to pay for the one shirt I found in the mess... the lady before me had an extensive return and the clerk stopped on each garment to hang it up carefully on the rack behind her! Yes - with at least 4 other people waiting for service! I believe that could have waited until the line was taken care of - no it was not a busy day - Tuesday morning early. Ran out of my favorite foundation (Clinique) and decided to visit this Belk location instead of driving to the mall and dealing with the weekend crowds. I headed straight to the Clinique counter and waited a few minutes before being approached by a Clinique associate. I immediately felt like I was keeping her from something much more important than my little makeup purchase. Although, she matched my skin color perfectly on the first try, her demeanor was extremely off-putting. Every question I asked was answered in a condescending tone that made me feel silly for even asking such a question. A large part of the reason I pay more for department store makeup is so that I can ask an "expert" my skin care questions (and also get the right shade the first time). Once I purchased my makeup (one good thing about the associate's lackluster personality is that she didn't try to upsell me anything), I decided to browse the rest of the store. I've never visited this location before and it definitely feels small compared to the Belk's at the malls- the clothing racks seem a little cramped and I think I would've had a hard time navigating a stroller through them. I walked through pretty much every area of the store and past at least 2 associates but was never acknowledged to by anyone. Also, when I tried on a shirt, the dressing room was pretty littered with clothes. Surprising considering the associates seemed to have nothing to do besides wander around aimlessly ignoring the customers. Next time I think I'll just go to the mall. read more
