Unfortunately, because of demand, it, wasn't available at the restaurant when we visited. We got a 7 beer flight to try a variety and I then settled on a larger pour of my fav - Ambar. We weren't hungry for a meal but ordered two snacks plus bread from their snack menu. And holy hotwheels, they were huge portions. Our selections were 1) grilled, salted peppers and 2) pica-pau (the pork version). It was literally enough food for full meals for 4 people IMO! And what is pica-pau you ask (it translates to woodpecker)? Well, in my book, it's pica-WOW! Cubes of pork adorned with some carrots, cauliflower, olives and parsley swim in a totally amazing sauce that we sopped up with the bread. We asked our server about the sauce and understood it was butter, chicken broth, white wine, lemon, garlic. Service was a little scattered. I think our original server left at shift time so we then ended up with a couple others pinch hitting. The scattered service along with no soap in either men's or women's restrooms = automatic star deduction.

The other weird thing about the Crow Bar, a rock bar in Cascais and not in Bairro Alto, is that it's customer base doesn't appear to be long-haired metalheads. We first went in the summer of 2016 and we were very happy to go back (quite a few times) in September, 2018. Bruno is a good bartender and very friendly (in his own way). His colleague, a very pretty, tattooed lady, was a bit shy but nice. Where else can you get a caneca and a bottle of Heineken for a total of only €4.50? I'll tell you where - the bar across from the train station in Tunes (Silves) down in the south of Portugal! But you won't hear any rock and roll there! I don't know who owns this bar but my God, I hope they make enough money here to keep it open. We're rockers and even if it isn't a rock crowd (when we've been there), at least it's rock! And beer! Cheap beer!

My only wish is that these is more of a way to help navigate the canned selection. I know a lot about beer but it's hard to decide on these because there isn't much in the way of write ups, just suggestions from whomever is there working or drinking. I normally stick with the tap, in general. I suggest taking the drinks out by the park on nice days. I really like this little area.

This place has quite a nice selection of beer, for a small store. Mostly European, and I was excited to see all the BrewDog from Scotland and Mikkeller from Denmark. Also surprised to see many Rogue Ale's beers, even on draft as well. There is a shelf for Portuguese craft, some from Lisbon. The girl working there, Ann Marie, is the best. She's really knowledgeable about the beer. When I asked her about a label, she'd tell me - their best beer is XXX, which I don't have right now, but of the two I have, this one is better. She is honest about her opinion - they waited six month to get this beer, she was really excited to try it but felt rather let down. She also enjoys giving trivia - the label Electric Nurse from Denmark comes from the occupations of the founders - one is an electrician and the other a nurse. She lets me sample the draft before deciding which one I want. Last but not least, she is diligent with regular sampling of the beer to ensure quality. ; ) The place has a relaxed vibe, with some games and books for entertainment. We just sat at the bar and chatted with locals, about beer, food, and everything. A really lovely way to spend an afternoon of our vacation, rather than hurrying around like crazy tourists. If you prefer, Praça Das Flores is just across the street, a park where you can totally enjoy a little corner of nature. Beers are not cheap here. The bottles costs over €3 each, and drafts mostly €4-6. Whereas a Sagres usually costs me €2 or so. However, if you don't feel it's worth paying extra to support craft and quality beer, then by all means stay with your Super Bock.

The shops are set all the way in behind the tables and umbrellas, so unless you really walk up to it, you may pass by this place many times and not find it. I'm thrilled that with each visit to Portugal the local beer scene is getting more vibrant. While there are more micro-breweries, it's hard for a traveler to visit, as it's a challenge to find out accurate info about their opening hours - if they are open to public - and then trying to fit the visits into your schedule. You also need to pray that they open as scheduled. Now, there is Beer Station, which specializes in local crafts, is right smack in the middle of the tourist area, is open for long hours, and has very affordable prices. So you tourists can just sit back, relax, and have a jolly good time. Bottles are around €4, and for draft, you can get 20cl for €3 or 40cl for €5. A flight of three is only €5, very affordable (wish I have $5 flights back home!!) and a great way to go for trying different beers. And don't forget to go inside and check out their bottles selection in the fridge, and get some for souvenirs. The staff will be more than happy to help with your selection and tell you more about the Portuguese craft beer scene!

Their selection of beer is great with lots of craft options, including Portuguese crafts and locals. They can serve you in the bar area or tables or you can serve yourself inside and try any of their taps by ml, imperial or pint sizes. We also ordered a few of their Turkish pizzas and you can tell they're homemade and they all tasted delicious. I got to chat with the owner for a bit and he was really nice and passionate about his business. All in all, if you live or are visiting the area, check out Na Medida and enjoy a few crafts with great artesanal pizza.
