I've had 3 dogs and 3 cats. I've always gone to Little River Veterinary Hospital. after many people recommended this vet upon our permanent move to maine, it took months for a first…read moreappointment. that is not a complaint - rather a nod to a busy practice well run, not cramming you in just to charge charge charge and create a waiting room full of pets! sadly, in advance of our meet and greet, my sweet giant lab got a bug, or a tick bite, or the copious amounts of duck poop disagreed with his tumtum and we ended up needing urgent care. we got the first ferry off and left a message we were on the way and taking our chances on being seen. on the drive as soon as they opened we received the call 'come on in'. day one: everyone was exceptionally kind and competent. every test was explained. came away with meds and he was feeling better until - next morning. he's walking around but not himself. when i offered him a banana that MY LABORADOR RETRIEVER REFUSED!!! i told my guy 'get dressed we're going back.' they had him all day on IV meds and fluids. got him stabilized. more xrays and tests. when we fetched him at 4 we had the full care run down. what to look for. when to bring him back. amazing care and i was a wreck! was it expensive? sorta i guess .. and i fully believe they saved my dog's life. and i can tell you that an ER visit with tests and xrays was 25% LESS than the meet and great wellness check with the vet we got into right away for a checkup and shots. in short - i do believe they are fairly priced. the facility is immaculate. the staff all needs raises! the docs we met were amazing. kind, compassionate, very well versed in what could be happening ... and lovely. and just to address 'joy' and her need to hurl pejoratives at Dr Chris Tomalty - i didn't meet him. saw him in the halls. i'd say handsome, not scary! also - he's canadian. rude and insulting isn't the general disposition in my extensive canadian interactions. just sayin. if you're looking for a vet - take the first appointment a few months out and join the family!

Our dog Lucy has been coming to your business for 5-6 years, since we moved to Searsport and has…read moreseemed to weather the experience with a few behavioral issues after being left for several days. We would pick her up and she was a "hyper-fit" but soon settled back into our home routine after reassurance, a shower and much brushing. We picked her up yesterday and she was so glad. She was also shining clean and had been brushed out , toenails trimmed (really well). She was less stressed, even when coming home into the house. She was glad to be home as always but way more comfortable with being gone. We had a repair man stop by today, and for the first time ever, she didn't run out barking and trying to scare him off, she was watchfull, but not threatening . Not sure how you managed this, but whoever is working there now , THANK YOU, for taking such good care of her and helping with her training. Kerry Dougherty & Dick Dyer

The business is under new management and the new staff is extremely rude. It took 3 phone calls…read moreover a few days to get a return phone call. I had several questions because the ownership is new and I am not familiar with their policies. The female was clearly irritated by my questions and she kept telling me to look at the website, which I had already done. My questions were specific to what I needed to provide for a dog that takes daily medication and if my dog could have 1-on-1 exercise/play time because she doesn't do well with other dogs. I also had a question regarding vaccinations; the prior owners would tell us when their records showed a vaccination was due. Also, we've boarded our dogs in kennels in other states that want kennel cough vaccination every 6 months (even though the vet states it's annual). When asking for clarification, she kept telling me to call my vet and would not answer any questions regarding 'their' requirements specific to kennel cough vaccination. When I finally told her that I didn't appreciate her attitude, she explained that I had an attitude and promptly cancelled my dog's reservation, telling me to find another kennel. We have been using Canine Country Club for years with nothing but GREAT experiences. I met the new owner a few days ago (she owns Paws and Claws in Belfast as well) and I thought she was nice, but apparently the owner told the staff person that I was rude when I stopped by. The only reason I stopped by was because we were driving past the kennel and I needed a reservation in just 2 days. I was hesitant to make my hotel reservations without knowing I had a reservation for my dog. The owner told me to go right ahead and make my travel reservations and assured me that she had a spot for my dog. I thanked her for her time and told her it was nice to meet her. Apparently the experience was not mutual since she told her staff I was rude. We already found another kennel to use and their staff was extremely helpful and professional. It's a shame that customer service is now nonexistent at Canine Country Club and the courtesy of returning phone calls and answering questions of customers is a huge inconvenience. I don't think they will do well with the current staff..... Apparently they don't recognize that customers have options too.

We've been…read moretaking our 7 year old lab there for boarding since she was a puppy and have never had anything but great experiences. I've found that they are very responsive via telephone, are very pleasant when interacting at the facility, and even send pics and texts while she is there. We had taken our lab to other boarders who charge $30 per night, and then $10 more if you want them to have playtime, then $10 more if you want them to get a walk. One of the fantastic things about Zeke's is that they have a HUGE fenced in yard that the dogs get the run of for hours of play time. No extra charge for exercise! I feel guilty enough leaving her at a boarders, so knowing she isn't kenneled much, outside of overnight and naptime, is a huge relief to me. Another bonus... they always give the dogs a bath before pickup and even washed our dog bed this last time! We took our lab and our new dog over the holidays this year and it was our new pup's first time at a boarders. They were able to share a kennel and I knew he would be well taken care of. Our dogs have NEVER come back injured, only happy and exhausted!

Redd loved it. When Yvette took over, things changed a bit and seemed more like a dog place but that's ok too. Due to my own circumstances, I have mostly used them for overnight boarding in the past 4 years and I drive 40 minutes just so Redd can have a good place to stay. Redd still loves to go, he gets plenty of exercise and I know they take good care of him as Yvette is a vet herself. Everyone there seems to care about the dogs and it appears safe, clean and friendly. They are picky about who they take and that is fine with me. They have also washed my dog bed and groomed my dog before he comes home. I highly recommend them.

We do not charge application fees or take down payments before we have actual puppies available. Since our puppies do find homes all over the U.S. you will choose your puppy from pictures provided and place your deposit on the puppy of your choice. At 6-7 weeks of age (after puppies have received their first round of vaccines) we encourage nearby families to come and spend time with their puppy. In the summer time we plan an outside Puppy Party where we have mini agility equipment, kiddy pool, and toys available. This is a time to meet your puppy, us, and other families. Families of winter litters can see your puppy by individual appointment. Puppies will be ready to leave at 8 weeks of age.  If you are from out of state then we are willing to meet you at Bangor International Airport (BIA) so the puppy can fly home with you in the cabin. We do not ship puppies.
