They did a great job managing his needs and his appointments. My dad commented several times that Ladera Sunrise was the best facility that he had been in, and if he could not be at home, he would prefer to be there. They kept the house very clean, enforced all the rules around safety, and most importantly, took excellent and kind care of my father during the most vulnerable time of his life. We had to make the decision this year to put my 90 year old grandmother in assisted/full time care due to her dementia. What I thought was going to be a daunting task turned out to be a seamless process once we came across Gary and the Westside Quality Care Manor. Gary is not only highly qualified in the medical field as a registered RN nurse, but he and his entire staff are caring, loving and have a great sense of humor during what can be a difficult time for families and there loved ones. From the moment we stepped into Westside Quality Care Manor, it was sparkling clean, warm, his care givers were cooking home made food, they were chatting with there residents, and we witnessed family members stopping by to see there loved ones (un announced) which they encourage and was very important to me. At that moment I knew my sweet little grandmother was going to get all of the proper care and attention she needed. They also have a sweet dog named Simba, which they made sure to ask if we liked dogs before allowing Simba into the living area were we would sit with my Grandmother. I must add my Grandma loved dogs and loved Simba. My Grandma was so well cared for during her time spent at this wonderful place, Whilma one of her favorite care givers here always had her dressed in her favorite cozy outfits, and always would wash my Grandmothers hair with the most divine shampoo & Conditioner. This always made my family so happy to know my Grandmas's hygiene was at the highest level. I think I can attribute all of this to the fact that Gary, his family and staff stand by the fact of only taking on 6 patients/residents at a time. This was also extremely comforting to our family knowing that this was a small family run care facility, in which attention to all of there residents were of the highest priority. I want to thank Gary, his entire family & Whilma for taking such excellent care of my Grandmother. My entire family will be forever grateful to you all. She has advanced MS and is…read morenon-ambulatory, so she needs a place with truly attentive and compassionate caregivers who will check in and pay attention to what is happening at the home at all times. I'm so thankful that we have found that at Beit Shalom. I guess I'll start with the staff. Along with being experienced at what they do, the caregivers are kind, gentle, and patient. The manager, Naomi, checks in daily, and gave me her cell phone immediately before I even asked. She is very responsive to calls and texts, and has been quick to address our requests. Naomi also arranged my mom's intake with a mobile physician who comes to the home monthly to check on the residents. Eilat, the owner, also gives out her cell phone freely and is very available and conscientious. She really cares about her board and care homes, and develops a personal relationship with every resident. She has live musical entertainment at Beit Shalom on a weekly basis, decorates for holidays, and makes the place very homey. When my mom first moved in, she had some trouble expressing exactly what she needed and when. She didn't want to bother anyone and she wasn't sure what was reasonable to ask for, so we had a bit of a learning curve. At this point, my mom and I both feel secure that the caregivers are on top of her medication, willing to prepare the food that she's in the mood for at a moment's notice, and will make sure to give her regular bed baths and ensure she's comfortable. It's a huge comfort for me to know that my mom is well cared for 24 hours a day. My mom is also VERY calm and content, not having to worry about whether her needs will be met.
