Not only do they continue to help our daughter grow and give her the personalized attention she needs in class, on the playground, in daycare. But they have gone to the whole way to the mat for her to advocate for the essential services she will need to continue to learn and grow. Our daughter may well be stronger and even safer years after she graduates from AMS because of their limitless advocating for her. Separately, our daughter is now communicating at what an independent assessment has said is a level 1.5 years above her age group. And she's an increasingly confident and determined little person. Someplace else, she might be reciting more things by rote or I don't even know what skill someone might need a toddler to have. Instead, she can and will tackle anything. It just doesn't occur to her there's something she can't do. They are an enormous part of that. And just great partners in all aspects. I'm a better mom because I know them. Arcadia Montessori school is not just a school of magnificently talented, dedicated and kind people. They *love* their students. They advocate for and protect kids way beyond what one could reasonably expect from anyone other than immediate family. They just bring tears to my eyes - more than I'd like to admit! And just yesterday when I went to pick up our daughter who otherwise has deep separation anxiety said - mama, can you come back a little later?

She truly makes the transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten so smooth. She helps the kids come out of their shell, improve their eating habits, and grow so much in their development overall. Ms. Eden is also amazing! She teaches Kinder through 3rd grade, and my daughter has learned so much from being exposed to different grade levels. Her reading has improved tremendously thanks to the supportive environment. The school also offers a fun summer camp program, where you can choose different activity packets and the kids go on trips Monday through Friday. My daughter loves it -- she's always excited to go and spend time with her friends. I've seen such a positive impact on all the kids here. Many who started out with separation anxiety or shyness now love coming to school every day. That says a lot about the teachers and how they connect with the students. One of the main reasons we went with this school was because of all the positive reviews and the smaller class sizes, which allow for more one-on-one attention between teachers and students. They also provide a yearly schedule so parents always know what's going on, and their early drop-off and late pick-up (until 5:30 PM) make it very convenient for working families. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a place where their child can learn, grow, and feel genuinely cared for.

We have Ms. Lily as our room teacher who is the BEST! She is warm, patient, and truly care about each child. There are several things that I really appreciated: **The staff & teachers are all very warm & caring with the kids as well as understanding & informative with the parents **The facility is the cleanest of all the preschools I toured **Lunch is not served on styrofoam plates - I know this is a common thing among preschools, but it really bugs me...Creekside's lunches are served in sectioned aluminum trays that help keep the food warm until it gets to the kids **They potty trained my daughter! I'm sure every kid is different but they did so well with her that we didn't have to do anything except maintain what they taught at home **Despite what their one 1-star Yelp review complained about, I felt my daughter was totally kindergarten ready - I've attached pictures of her report card to share all the topics that are included in their academic curriculum **Super cute holiday activities & awesome summer onsite field trips (which we appreciate for safety reasons) & this year they've started an annual recital! **Optional weekly homework to enhance what they've learned (only takes about 10 minutes to finish all pages) Note on access: Previously, you could only drop off your kid at the front door due to COVID, but now you get a key fob to open the door & walk your kid in. I recommend making sure you know what you're going to do with their artwork ahead of time...there is a LOT. I can't thank Ms. Grace, Ms. Francesca, & all of my daughter's wonderful, patient teachers enough for their care - we miss you all so! When he first started, he was really shy, hardly spoke, and would prefer playing and being alone, which was concerning me. However, my son soon began to excel. He's become more social and verbal, constantly learning new things and continuously showing improvement. When I pick him up from school, I love seeing how happy and comfortable he is playing with the other children. He now tells me about his friends and what he did that day, and sometimes, out of nowhere, he'll sing songs he learned at school. The teachers are incredibly kind, caring, and patient with all the children. They genuinely show how much they care for every child's development, well-being, and education. They are always willing to discuss any questions, recommendations, and concerns I or they may have. I appreciate it when the teacher not only informs me of his progress but also points out areas that he needs improvement in. The staff also helped me with potty training and were always understanding and accommodating to schedule changes. I have peace of mind every day when I drop him off, knowing he will be safe, well cared for, and in good hands. I completely trust my child in their care. I 100% highly recommend Discovery Montessori Preschool to any family searching for a high-quality, reliable preschool where children are encouraged to learn and develop. Thank you so much Ms. Nilani, Ms. Dishani and Ms. Ayanti! You are all greatly appreciated!

Until the age of two, we were able to nurture his love of creativity through art, get him engaged in reading and music, and keep him active and independent while learning at home, but his social-emotional growth needed a community like Modern Schoolhouse to truly develop. We met another family at his favorite playground that had an AMAZING experience at Modern Schoolhouse and their daughter, who was academically gifted and raised with similar philosophies, was thriving under their care. We enrolled and discovered for ourselves that Modern Schoolhouse was indeed an absolute gem for child development. Our son entered after turning two, and he was very shy/reserved at the time. The talking, dancing, singing, bilingual artist that blew us away with his funny ideas and love of learning at home, needed help expressing himself in the larger group. Over the next several years, Leonardo was able to grow and thrive his ability to emotionally self-regulate, from having a 'safe space' at home to being able to identify what he was feeling and how to 'calm his body,' to listening to others and respecting common space. What we didn't anticipate was not just the top quality of the school, the clean aesthetic spaces, and the exceptional teachers (Teacher Alicia from class 3 was truly amazing!!), but also the like minded and kind community that became a key part of our son's social life. During our son's first years at home, we studied Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia- instituting some principles of each in our approach at home. It wasn't until we met Sue and her philosophies at Modern Schoolhouse did we see some of these same philosophies embodied in an American child care setting; and we must have interviewed or toured at 5 or more local schools before finding Modern Schoolhouse. The core beliefs consist of the idea that children are competent, capable, curious individuals with hundreds of ways of self expression. The role of the school and family should be creating a structured, clean, and aesthetic environment that is conducive stimulating exploration and discovery. Teachers in this sense guide and foster collaboration rather than just 'delivering information.' Giving our son a new challenge was hard at first, but Sue and her staff were quick to offer suggestions and outside resources so we could reinforce some lessons at home, especially around his development of social/emotional skills like managing anger, dealing with disappointment, and learning to communicate when he needed space. He also was given the chance to learn how to build relationships and have positive interactions with new friends. Each 'season' and month had different themes that would be clearly delivered in monthly/quarterly emails along with chances to meet with teachers on child progress in key development areas of language, tracing, use of scissors, how to put on shoes/jackets, counting, class participation/listening, and emotional self expression. By class 3 (3 years old and above), our son was giving 'show and tell' presentations, using the 'sharing bee' to discuss their weekend, and playing inventive games to stimulate imagination and curiosity. Through the use of brightwheel, we were always shown photos and videos of our son having fun with friends and doing some fun activity. The school also offered many events at the school such as the "annual art show," "parent and me" day, and music sessions from Teacher Gaia culminating in a student led music performance (the cutest!). This year all the 4 classes made their own animal costumes and acted out various Disney themes. It was extraordinary to see him flourish and thrive under Teacher Alicia in class 3, who is truly remarkable for her ability to connect to kids and meet them where they are on the journey. By the end he was more confident in his presentations and even singing his favorite Disney songs Karaoke style to the class! Everything ended on a wonderful note with his graduation and small speech to parents and the graduating class. We were given an opportunity for a graduation photoshoot and his 'family book' with messages from all of the teachers as a keepsake that he created during his time there. As he graduated before many of the others in class 3, everyone created a special hand painted art for him with with the handprints of all his friends. It is bittersweet to go onto the next chapter, but he graduated school scoring high in every single metric of development, and he easily was interviewed and accepted into an international private school. Thanks you for being such a key part of his childhood journey and we hope to stay in touch with Leonardo and our growing family!

Initially, we had some concerns about starting him so young, but it quickly became clear that enrolling him early was the right choice. He is truly thriving--emotionally, mentally, and intellectually. The curriculum at TMS is incredibly well thought out. Each activity clearly connects to the weekly or daily theme, and we've seen real growth in our son's development. He's starting to learn the alphabet and has become much more verbal since he began. What stands out even more is how happy our child is at TMS. Every photo we receive through the app shows him smiling, and we always feel confident dropping him off, knowing he's in caring and capable hands. The teachers, staff, and owner (Sue) are exceptional. Our son absolutely adores his teachers and lights up when we mention their names in the morning. Even though he's usually very attached to us, he was so excited to see his teacher at the Annual Art Show that he practically leaped from my arms to greet her. That kind of connection is exactly what every parent hopes for in a school: a place where your child feels loved and supported. On top of all this, the school is extremely clean. Our son has hardly been sick, and we've noticed how attentive the staff is to hygiene--little ones always have their noses wiped, diapers changed very frequently and the environment is clearly well-maintained. TMS is far beyond a typical daycare--it's a place where our child is growing, learning, and genuinely happy.

Overall, it's been a positive experience with a few minor considerations. One of the standout features for us is the flexibility -- the school is open from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and I really appreciate being able to drop them off as late as 9:30 AM. It gives us the chance to enjoy slow mornings together. In addition to the flexible hours, there are very minimal holidays, which is a huge blessing for working families who just can't take that many days off in a year. Meals (breakfast, snack, and lunch) are included, and the facility is nut-free, which is crucial for us due to our daughter's peanut allergy. The school is very accommodating, and both Emilene and Stacy are great with communication. Stacy speaks Chinese, which is helpful since we're a bilingual household, and she's on top of everything. Together, Emilene and Stacy run the school very competently and are always responsive when we reach out. We've also noticed Spanish-speaking teachers interacting with the kids -- it's a nice bonus to hear them occasionally counting or singing in Spanish at home. The school provides uniforms, which makes mornings simpler -- no outfit struggles. Homework starts in the Primary class but is optional, which takes off some pressure. I like that the teachers let kids learn at their own pace. For example, our daughter has started writing her name, while her twin brother is still tracing -- and both are encouraged at their own level. Class sizes are a bit large, which might be a concern for some. Also, nap time is still enforced even though our kids are weaning off naps -- understandable, but something to be aware of. One thing I do wish is that they would take and share more pictures of the kids during the day. As a parent, I'd love to see more of what they're doing and experiencing at school. Overall, it's a warm and structured environment with great hours, minimal closures, helpful staff, and a multilingual atmosphere that we really value.
