By their own words, this is the only place that serves you open after 2pm in Kimball. By my words, this one place beats out anything you might find in Cheyenne. At least if you're like me and you like local down-to-earth places, full of friendly locals. I chatted with the bartender Ashley for awhile and we had a great time. Believe it or not, this is the first time in three tries I've actually found nice people in Nebraska! Should've come from the west instead of the east this whole time! Drinks: No tap. There, I said it. That's the loathing part. They do have a good selection of bottles including local brews, and a secret $1 off per beer if you get two. (Whoops, not a secret anymore!) I enjoyed my Nebraska OSO. Food: My goodness. I was watching the chef make the food (next to the bar) and it seemed to be taking quite awhile. Was my food going to be cold? Were these other people's orders too? Well, the burger came out just fine and let me tell you, wow. The buffalo, per Ashley, is local - only 14 miles from farm to pub. The taste of everything together is just overwhelmingly homemade. I was worried when I saw the freezer full of certain apps, but you won't go wrong with the buffalo burger - or the Rocky Mountain Oyster burger! (I've had them before so I didn't, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see them outside Colorado. Ashley loves them and if you've never had, go for it!) Atmosphere: So local. So homey but welcoming, which often isn't the vibe for local places. You get a nice little downtown to explore for 10 minutes and then you get this nice little place to explore. I was even offered to join their pool tournament! As an admitted outsider! Hence why I said I finally found part of Nebraska I like. So that makes the 5 stars a slam dunk here. There's TVs, music, just... anything you want, it's here. You'll be at home. Come home to Kimball.

Loving this place! Came from Lake Oliver and needed some quick food and a drink! Nate was the bartender and was awesome with service, food is frozen but so much better than anywhere else around here. Fun vibes, sexy bartender. Chalk all over the bathrooms, super awesome. Nothing on draft but local can selection! Gambling machines and touch tunes juke box

    Excellent burgers made by Nate

We drove over from Cheyenne to visit Nebraska just to knock off another state. We decided to hit up Beer and Loathing as it was raining and didn't have many options for sightseeing. The town of Kimball was essentially shut down except for this bar downtown. We walked in and were greeted by one of the owners, Nate. He was pleasant and helpful and we had so many questions about the area. The locals were friendly and the bar was really pretty cool. The decor was unique and Heather, one of the other owners, had done the bar and the walls with beer caps. Clearly the owners are proud of the hard work and they have great customer service in mind as well. The beer was cold and the burgers were delicious. A unique experience for a couple from Alabama.

Parts and Labor Brewing Company was a complete disappointment. We stopped in just before 9:30 PM…read morehoping for wings and a beer, only to be turned away despite plenty of customers still dining inside. Apparently serving paying customers a few minutes before closing was too much to ask. My reply to the owner... Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your response reinforces the concerns I expressed in my original review. Rather than addressing the customer experience, you chose to dismiss it by focusing on the time we arrived and by implying that my review was the result of me "needing a great day." That kind of sarcasm does not reflect the level of professionalism customers should expect from a business owner. You stated that you personally saw us enter at 9:40 PM and that the kitchen had already closed at 9:30 PM. However, I take accuracy seriously, and I do not appreciate being misrepresented. I have a screenshot documenting the time I left your establishment, which directly contradicts the timeline presented in your response. If the facts are important enough for you to publicly defend your business, they should also be important enough to present truthfully. To be clear, businesses have every right to establish kitchen hours and closing procedures. Had the situation simply been explained professionally and courteously, my review likely would have reflected that. What stands out is not the policy itself, but the way concerns were handled afterward. I travel extensively throughout the United States and internationally, reviewing small family-owned businesses because I genuinely enjoy supporting them. In many cases, when an owner responds thoughtfully and demonstrates a commitment to customer service, I am willing to reconsider or update a review. In this case, however, instead of leaning into customer service and understanding, you chose to defend, justify, and direct sarcasm toward a customer. I can accept mistakes. What I have a much harder time accepting is dishonesty. The screenshot of the time I left your establishment speaks for itself. I wish you and your business the best, but I stand by my review. To make matters worse, we had a similar experience elsewhere in Sterling when a Sonic employee snapped at us for trying to place an order. Thankfully, Village Inn restored a little faith in customer service with friendly staff, welcoming patrons, and genuine hospitality. If you're traveling through town, don't expect Parts and Labor to go out of its way for customers. We were in and out in under a minute--with nothing but a bad impression to take with us.
