The Traveling Winers on Oklahoma Wine Trail…read more The biggest piece of advice we can give you about this vineyard is 1) go to the website first and print off the map, and 2) GO! Although it is a BIT out in the country and you have to drive quite some distance on gravel roads, it is definitely worth the trip! We got so lost on our way to this winery, thinking that we may never get out of Green Country, because even our GPS was confused with all the country dead-end roads. But we prevailed! We didn't give up! And we were definitely rewarded with a gem of a visit. This place makes wine out of everything! (Ok, so we're exaggerating, but that's what it seems like). And although we don't typically care for fruit wine or even really hugely different varietal grapes, we actually thought that a couple of their wines were so different and interesting that you just couldn't not drink them because they were so enticingly different. Okay, so that doesn't make sense? I get that....I'm really not sure how to put this into words, so instead, why don't you just go visit this vineyard and see for yourself! Would SO love to hear your comments! The Traveling Winers at The Vineyard Trail

Located in the middle of nowhere…read more If you are driving on Hwy 16, traveling east or west, it is advised that you stop at Twin Hills Convenience Plaza and Restaurant for fuel, food, and drinks. It is miles to the next town and restroom. Not exactly a Buc-ee's, Love's or Pilot, like on the interstate, but it works. You can get the bare necessities: beef jerky, beer, a hot meal and a nature break. One end of the building is the gasoline and convenience store and the other end is the Twin Hills Restaurant. On the front door of the restaurant today a sign," Help Wanted, 2 Cooks Needed." This always worries me when I see a sign like this at a restaurant. Who's doing the cooking today? And, where will they find help way out here? Inside you will find a fairly clean restaurant. Seat yourself. Menus and drink orders handled promptly. My usual. My wife went with one griddle cake and a couple of eggs. My plate was okay. The eggs just a little under cooked and the bacon not quite as crisp as I like. It was good food though. The prices are very reasonable. Daily specials and cobblers! The service was friendly. I imagine the overworked cook staff is hoping to get some help soon. If you are in the witness protection program, cooking here would be a perfect disguise. Consider it. It is a clandestine location and you can stay out of the public's eye, secluded in the kitchen. Similar in name, but not the same. Disappointing, and the reason for minus one star; the Twin Hills Restaurant, is nothing like the old Twin Peaks Restaurants.

This is an attractive coffee shop in an equally attractive historical building with a cool name. The building is dated 1915 with a large marquee denoting its heritage to Kunkler family. Colorful book spines paint the tall walls, from floor to the antique tin ceiling tiles. Comfortable furniture for lounging, tables and chairs for dining. "Reservation Worthy" is the slogan for the meat market Looped Square. Opened by the Muscogee Nation…read morein Beggs, this store/processor specializes in product grown and raised in the Muscogee Nation Reservation (of which Tulsa is a large part). The retail area has a large number of freezers and they are typically full of a variety of products. My last trip I went to buy a rib roast for xmas dinner but I ended walking out with even more stuff from a frozen turkey breast and some hatch chili brats to a variety of snack stix. Everything I have ever bought here has been top quality but even more important, what you buy there directly helps the local economy. Local ranchers and farmers generate the meat/produce and the money goes to them. Prices are VERY competetive compared to the city and surrounding area, especially for the quality. They also do wild game processing, although Yelp doesn't seem to have a category for that. Beggs ain't that far away from Tulsa that you can't make the drive for superior meat, especially around the holidays.
