I met with one of the owners Becky and discussed my vision, and with her guidance everything was stunning. She captured the look and feel of the wedding and left people amazed with the flowers. She surrounds herself with a team that has strengths different from her own and from each other. The quality of their products is top-tier. Laura has invested a lot into finding ethical, high-quality products and vendors. Planted's pricing is fair, and they value plant care above all else. Matching plants to people's needs and abilities was more important than a sale ever was. I only left Planted to pursue graduate school. Whenever I have the chance, I make trips to Dubuque to visit Laura and Planted. Who can say that about their boss?

They are incredibly attractive and very reasonably-priced. One pet peeve I have about many businesses, and often garden centers, is that many things are not marked with prices. Max, the owner, makes it easy with easy pricing. For example, all the hanging planters are priced the same. And asked about whether he accepts credit cards, he said, and I quote: "I take cash or checks, or You owe me, or I.O.U." So bring cash, or do that girly thing, and write a check. The quality of the plants and shrubs here is excellent. Again, very different from what you may find in the big box stores. Healthy green stuff and lots of fun arts and crafts. The outdoor sign with the name is a little faded so you won't recognize it by that. Just look for the Shark's sign. It's right across the street.
