I have 10 cats, they do not do through body checks, my cat baby dude they made me to keep bringing him in, each time charged me 70 dollars for exam, even if recheck, I brought him in June 5 2024 because he was not feeling good, so took lab said needed to be on senior food, vet a lady don't remember her name said he could be a mouth infection, which I just had his dental work done, never did a body check, if they would have they would have felt the huge tumor on his back right leg, which his long hair was covering it, they gave some antibiotics for his sneezing, he was very congested they didn't help, I had to ask for a different kind, that helped his congestion, I had to bring him back the end of June because his right back leg was locked, they made me wait over a week to see Dr ! I asked them to do x ray and Dr saw a huge tumor, why didn't he check his legs and full body check the way VCA does it, he said sorry we missed that! Well my baby was on the X-ray table he kept looking at his watch saying they all want to go home and putting him to sleep was the only answer, he said go home love on him bring him back to be ptsed! Very cold and unfeeling, I went to get another opinion at Dr Trudeau at VCA and she did an amputation, getting my baby's records from them is a pain in the ass, the vet had to call to get them, they didn't listen to me, my baby died 10 days after the operation on the way to the vet, I spent 2000 dollars on the amputation, I was tapped out for him to be pts which he passed on the way, they did the cremation at no charge, my question is, if it was caught early when I first bought him in, would maybe have been a different outcome! read more

I hate Yelp ratings and, being a retired advertising account executive, I know small businesses hate them too. That said, Dr Dan McCay and staff deserve full stars for their treatment of our 10-year old tabby, Jimmy. He was diagnosed with kidney disease at a Merrillville establishment that will remain nameless; who followed up on the phone with the lab results; sold us $95 of kidney support (that Jimmy refused) and said come back in a year. Dr Dan's manner is that of a family member with a sick child. He prescribed daily IV treatments that we do at home and weekly shots of B12. Jimmy looks and feels 500% better; even with a decease that he'll eventually die from. I highly recommend this animal hospital! read more

So my little baby boy Cody, who we thought was about 15 years old has been having runny and bloody poops and my wife brought him to see Dr. Christine. Upon registration we discovered that they had Cody's correct age which was 19 years old. He's a Silky Terrior and Poodle mix aka a Silky Poo. His parents lived with us and Cody was the baby we chose to keep out of two litters, the first 5 puppies and the second 4. Cody was from the second Oops group.(a long story). Well Cody has been around a long time and with being with his parents for many years he would get his eyes and ears cleaned by both his mother and father and would return the favor. As a shift worker, many times I would take them for walks at 1 or 2am as a little family and just let them go. They would never go to far away from me and we developed a consistent route that they would follow without my guidance. Once we got back to the house they all got treats and then we all went to bed together and they all had a spot snuggled close to my wife. She had many 3 Dog Nights. Sadly, mom and dad went to Doggy Heaven. Cody and I became closer than ever and I had him by my side wether I was sitting in my chair or outside in my garage. When I go to work he knows exactly when I'm about to be home and is waiting at the door. I absolutely love my little buddy Cody. So now to Christine. Like I said at the beginning Cody has had problems with runny and bloody poops. Dr. Christine is treating him like a sick Dog and not an old Dog. This is important to me because I'm not able to be at these appointments to say anything but I have been listening to my wife who's the one cleaning his messes and is thinking that his life is over because he's got Cancer or is just shutting down. Well Dr. Christine ran some tests and checked Cody out and is willing to try some medicines to stop his symptoms and also said that Cody isn't ready to go just yet. I've been telling my wife, he's not acting sick, he has an appetite and he still greets me at the door with a wagging tail and gives me kisses. Not something a sick Dog does. I am so appreciative that Dr. Christine has not given up on Cody. As I write this he is sitting next to me content as can be. I know he doesn't have much time left but I agree with Dr. Christine, Cody isn't ready yet. Maybe some medicine and a chain diet will fix his problems. As for now, I have my baby boy hanging out with me and he's as normal as can be. read more

rude front staff. judgemental. both the ladies kept lying straight to my face then lied to cover up their lies when I pointed out the contradictions. have brought a dog with chronic ear infection and repeatedly they give the same regiment that has proven not to work. brought 2 stray wounded cats in for help and was judged for their condition as if it were my fault. made me feel like next time I should leave the animals to suffer rather then pay nearly a grand to get them help...for the staff to judge me. the one receptionist tried charging me double what my real bill was. Then sent me home with one of the cats dripping blood from surgery. Will definitely not be returning and finding a more friendly staff elsewhere. read more

I've been taking my cat there since we moved here and they were very polite and they didn't give me any problems friendly and helpful staff and the veterinarian dr Dan is the best they get straight to the point and prices are very reasonable I thank god for them and very knowledgeable and kind to your pet and if it's an emergency they have you come right in I just wish more veterinarians were like them read more

I finally stopped in to bring our dog up to snuff. Super friendly staff. The Doctor was kind and attentive to Shelby. While she was getting her shots the doctor had his staff talk to her to make sure she was calm. Shelby is a trooper but the staff rocks as well. read more

First off... the last 4 times I have called for a Farm call for a sick animal i was told Dr. Dan would have to call you back, I said "please do have him call me," never heard back any of those 4 times. The receptionist does not know the dr's schedule, what animals he see's, etc. Dumb as a box of rocks. Second off... Dr. Dan hired Dr. Paula, pardon my expression but she does not know her ass from a hole in the ground, very poor vet! In the past she had killed one of my animals, did not finish treatment bc she had to go to a conference out of town and stopped all meds at that point. She is greedier than hell. Robbed an animal rescue blind of their $ that were for the animals. Maybe look further for another vet, better ones are out there. read more

I do not recommend Beecher Vet. A staff member named Cindy is rude. She was totally aggravated when I went In to pick up my vet records. I asked for them to be emailed and a hard copy. She said someone already picked them up which I am the only one who would have. She then started to complain about other people who don't pick up their records. I have spoken to her before on the phone and every time she is rude and seems to be inconvenienced. She is one of the major reasons we are switching vets.Hey read more

Love that they take my pets at last minute when something happens. However a bit expensive and have had some issues with the place not being clean. They are doing a great job, but I brought my cat here and they had a dog in the next room with kennel cough. Sure enough my cat got sicker the following day. Called Dr. Dan and they prescribed meds, telling me not to bring her back just yet. Wish they had told that to the dogs parents. read more
