We hired Just Gill of JGill Installations to build us a deck for our pool. He charged us $110o for…read moresupplies, but refuses to send us an invoice for it. Then he built the deck, or rather his worker's did while he sat under our carport on his phone. The deck looked nice when they finished. However, as we began to use the deck, we found here's what we found: 1)nails that were left pointing out of the wood; 2) one of the support posts was so split that someone could easily be seriously wounded by it; 3) One of the decking planks was also split so bad that it too would cause injury; 4) There is about a foot wide gap left between railing and pool that wasnt even enclosed making it a hazard for children that might fall off the deck; 5) the gate is now not able to close due to incorrect building and installation and we needed the gate to lock out any children from wandering up to the deck. There were other things as well that we have just accepted as unprofessional such as the railing not being sanded so splinters can get into skin, and the stairs were not placed where we told them to build. Justin Gill didnt even go look over the work his crew completed or he would have found most of these problems. After some texting, he did come and correct some of the issues. Now he just is sporadic with responses to come back so we have requested a refund for the labor since we have to hire someone to fix his mistakes. Just found out that he is not licensed, as he says and it says on his business cards. I have found other people he has built for that are also having major problems and he will not respond to them to fix things. Be aware that while he may be the nicest guy in the world, he is young and inexperienced and very irresponsible. We paid him a total of $2200 for the deck.

Empty promises, lies about completion dates, bogus finance company. They didn't event check to see if they needed permits to complete the work and we go shut down for a month. Permasteel gets you to sign saying work is completed so they can get all their money and you are at their mercy afterwards. Owners don't care what your grievances are the look for the next victim to pay. Contractors they hire complain to me about not getting paid by the company. I have a case open with the finance company, attorney general, ar contractors licensing board, and better business bureau and NOTHING. Never finance something like this always pay a deposit and the rest on completion. Still waiting for work to be completed. $50,000+ I'm on the hook to pay with no finished work.

They sent a crew that spoke no English which made it hard to correct things that weren't as agreed to. The main contractor that hired this sub contractor would come by but it was fighting a losing battle. They eventually got all the siding installed but several places not correct. I have gaps a 1/2" wide in places. I ordered a perforated soffit to create more airflow in the attic. The subcontractor left the old vents on and covered them up which restricts air flow. He sent a crew back out that said they completed taking them out but I was able to look at my camera footage and see they were lieing. The left the job in Oct. 2024 while waiting on the shutters to come in with a a promise they would complete all other issues when they returned. One guy showed up a month later and put a few shutters on. Some the wrong windows and broke one. They said they had to order more an would be back. 2 months later after complaining about my new screens laying on the ground, some one came over to repair the new screens, and finally seal and caulk around the new windows on the back. This was the last time anyone has shown up to work. 16 months later I am missing 3 screens, 3 sets of shutters, my new downspouts (the old ones are flopping around unsecured), my front gutter hasn't been repaired after the dropped it and creased it in the middle. I have gaps in the siding joints, some ends are bowing out, my back patio cover leaks worse than when they started and the new posts on my front porch are all crooked/out of plumb. T I have a letter from the Attorney Generals office where they stated fault and would correct it. I call every few weeks but they won't answer the phone or return my calls. I call or text Jason Sullivan with Sullivan Siding and he say we'll get someone over there but they never do. They got all their money. $46,000 upfront because of the finance company they sent us through. They are fast talking liars. I will not let it go and am in the process of hiring another contractor to come assess the installation to see if it was installed correctly before we file a lawsuit. Don't call AR PermaSteel for any projects. Stay away from Sullivan siding and fencing

To begin with, the estimator, Ed, was very professional throughout the entire ordeal. He went above…read more& beyond, including cleaning up the horrible messes the installers left. His bosses are the problem in my opinion. After Ed did an on-site survey, we signed a two-page agreement to proceed. The first insult from Bill's after that was when we were presented a 10-page document, of which 3 pages consisted of verbiage explaining what Bill's would do to us if we didn't pay them. I voiced my opinion and displeasure with the tone of the document to Ed but decided to proceed (against my better judgement, but we wanted to get it done) and wrote a check for the 1/2 down. They had our check cashed in less than 4 hours. BTW, Ingle Fence was 5K less, but we liked Ed's professionalism and demeanor very much. I also referred a friend to Bill's and they did a pitiful job on hers. She has said that she will NOT recommend Bill's to any of her friends. So far, they have declined to correct two of the three deficiencies (1) pickets excessively spaced and warping present in just 60 days (2) picket bottoms just "floating" above bottom 1 x 6 on one section, and (3) didn't bother to even address the first problem I pointed out i.e., the top wood 2x4 cap of one section of fence not being level. They offered to "upgrade" the excessive picket spacing as a "goodwill" gesture by ONLY charging us another $4,500 on top of the 20K we already paid. They claim that the pickets shrank in the 60 days since installation. Buried on page 6 of the 10-page contract, is an explanation of the grade of wood they use. It's allegedly a #2 grade which, after seeing it in an installed condition, is one grade higher than it deserves. In addition, just to add insult to injury, Bill's office girls tried to collect the 1/2 down at the beginning of the job TWICE. They then tried to collect the final payment on completion TWICE. There was nothing nefarious about the duplicate collection attempts, just incompetence. To their credit, they did a site visit and took pictures. I asked that they report back via phone call, as I had already received one of their "FU" emails. So naturally, they DIDN'T report back via phone, instead, I got another "FU" email from them. In the end, their workmanship & materials warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on, other than for Bill's to throw it in your face when a complaint is registered. I have NEVER reviewed a business online, but I feel as tho future prospective customers of Bill's need to be aware that their workmanship is lacking & that the wood they use is substandard in my opinion. Bill's is a very arrogant company for no apparent reason IMHO. Beware, regardless of how much you pay.
