I booked another tour the following week so my fiancé can have a look...We took the tour with Eric. Eric is a blast and his personality lights up the room. He's the type of person you can talk to for hours yet it feels like minutes. Good guy! My fiancé was so quiet I couldn't tell if he liked the venue I was getting worried. when the tour was complete and we were in the parking lot he looked at me and said this is the one I was beyond excited and it was time to start planning. I've never been married before and I felt so overwhelmed. Jodie and Eric were always available by phone, text, or email and I can honestly say without their help I couldn't have done this all. They directed me to the caterer, DJ Mike with Fernando productions, the photographer Jared Cook with JC photography, the florists, etc. I got the best of the best! Jodie and Eric helped with me the colors, the lighting, and table decor. Not one detail was missed and I seen it all come together on our wedding day of 2/22. I was blown away seeing all the final touches Jodie and Eric did. Candles were lit, rose petals were down, music filled the air and they did it with smiles on their faces and were ready to make my day one to remember. This place felt so alive and magical. They treated me like family. I felt so comfortable. I wish I can do it all over again and I wouldn't change a thing. Jodie and Eric was with us step by step. They directed us the whole way through. My hubby and I got lost a moment when we were cutting the cake and all we had to do was look at Eric and we were back on track.I had one of the hardest dresses to bustle and both Jodie and Eric jumped in and got it figured out together.They love what they do and they do it flawlessly. And ladies make sure to tell your guests that the centerpieces aren't available for take home..my mother thought they were and had her eye on a gold glitter tree. I was so embarrassed she ran off with it but it turned out to be one of the best highlights of the night. Eric had a good time teasing me about it and a hilliarious video surfaced on social media that has me laughing to this day still. Upon arriving the door was locked & so we all waited for the owner to open the door. She finally came & greeted us & led us upstairs to where we would practice. We only practiced Friday because there was going to be another wedding Saturday. Anyways, so we are practicing & the owner is smiling at us while practicing. Our hour is up & we all go down the elevator to the front door & leave, very satisfied & happy because we are almost to the altar!!!! A couple hours later, we get a call from the owner stating that her car was broken into & It had to be someone from our wedding party & that the wedding was off until it got resolved. Now everyone lets pause & go over some facts. 1) we all walked out together, waving at her as we left. 2) we had reservations to places that night & all parked in front of the building. 3) we didn't know what car she drove as she was there before us. 4) our wedding party was fully black. Now I hate to throw racism into the mix, but we were definitely racially profiled. How come our wedding party was targeted? Its downtown & she left a purse on the front seat.. that's privilege to even think you could do that in downtown KC! Long story short & a alot of tears later, they finally check security footage of places her card got swiped & what do you think they found? A white man. Walking away with her purse & swiping her card at numerous locations Including the liquor store. We had the wedding there because the attorney said the contract was locked in.. but do you think we ever got an apology? No. Moreso a story on how the owners life partner of 6 years is black. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Plexpod Westport stole from me when their Westport location was open. I was told my suite was being…read morebought out by a larger company and had to vacate in 2 weeks. Turns out they backed out of their lease with the parent company at the last minute and as a result pushed all of the tenants out with little to no notice. Once leaving I asked for the return of my security deposit and was promised it was going to be sent within 30 business days via mail (I have emails). I never received! I was in conversations with the COO and she cc'd the now President to ensure he took care of it. All of a sudden several high executives of the company left the company (communicated to me by the President). I was then told I wouldn't be receiving my security deposit any longer and that I needed to ask the parent company for my money (I did not have a contract with the parent company and they stated they have no accounts or information to assist us tenants who were left out to dry.) The parent company stated that they have received emails and phone calls from several of the past Westport tenants who were asked to vacate as well that experienced the same treatment as they werf directed by Plexpod to ask them as well for their money.

Located in the middle of the Crossroads district, there are a ton of eating establishments within walking distance making allowing you to park your car one place and keep it there all day. During busy times, parking can be a slight problem as there is no established parking lot and you'll have to find something on the street. During "First Fridays" art fair this can be a particular problem. Once you've outgrown working at coffee shops and need a focused place to work and meet with clients, coworking is a great option and Bizperc is my preferred choice in Kansas City for that right mix of amenities and fun.
