I was not impressed with the selection that was offered on their showroom floor. The salesman was not informative and did not really help me with any of my questions. When I told him I wanted to look around and asked what other stores were in the area he said everything close by was another mattress firm or that mattress firm owned the other beddings stores. Upon leaving I googled other mattress stores and came across that American Mattress was down the street. I figured I would test my luck and see if this store had other options for me with more information for my purchase. When I walked in to American Mattress I was immediately greeted by Jim. He was an extreme pleasure to work with. He understood that buying a mattress is a rather large decision and he made sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted. He had me test out a bunch of different products and asked me questions in regards to mine and my boyfriends sleeping patterns (side sleeper/ back sleeper/ do we snore/ etc). I have never had such a positive experience in purchasing something. Any question I had, Jim was able to give me a quick answer with as much information as I needed to understand and feel comfortable. He was able to help me get the best price I could have ever imagined. On top of everything, he offered for the bed to be delivered next day! I was extremely excited! As it turns out, American Mattress is NOT owned by Mattress Firm, and is in fact a privately family owned company. Continuing, I was so excited to get new furniture for our brand new house. We ordered a chaise and a kitchen table and chairs on November 24, 2024. Our chaise was delivered on December 6. During the delivery, Ryan and Austin busted through the door stop on my front door breaking it and putting a dent in the door and the door frame. (Pictures to prove). I called Ryan after and he said he would fix the door stop when delivering our table. On December 7, I called the store in Valparaiso and tried to cancel the kitchen table as I do not want these people in my home. Nicole told me cancelations are not allowed and that she would have Ryan contact me. He did not contact me and so I called the store again today, January 3, 2025. During the phone call, I asked Nicole when the kitchen table is being delivered and there was still no definitive answer. Again, I ordered on November 24. When I asked about a corporate number I was told there is not one. I was then finally contacted by Ryan about the damages made. Now they want to send a contractor to come and fix it after the table and chairs are delivered. I also asked where Luxury furniture's manufacturer is and Ryan did not know. After speaking to both Ryan and Nicole the two of them started contacting my husband because they "no longer had my number because of paperwork." WEIRD BECAUSE THE FURNITURE IS IN MY NAME. My husband was no where on the paperwork. (Pictures attached to prove it) Ryan was supposed to deliver our table on Tuesday, Janruary 14. Then on the 14 it changed to January 16 because their delivery truck "broke down". Then on the 16th it got changed once again to the 18 of January. Then on the 18 the delivery got changed for a FOURTH time to today, January 21 because Ryan's "co-driver was sick". One thing after another. Absolutely ridiculous when they only do deliveries until 5pm and both of us work full time. We took multiple days off just for them to reschedule. Now today January 21, 2025. After finally delivering our kitchen table, my husband asked about fixing the damages to our front door. Ryan tried to put words in my mouth of things that I never said and was saying that the trim on our brand new house/door (finished being built in August 2024), was cracked prior to him and Austin delivering the chaise on December 6, 2024. It wasn't and if it was I would not have moved into it without it being repaired. Ryan wanted to put a new door stop on the door and call it a day. At that point I told them to get out of my house because they do not want to fix it. Don't do your business here. These people are scammers. They will break your things and not fix them or allow you to get a return. They can eat their pillows now.
