Snooze have been around for years and have stores open all across the country so they MUST know what they're talking about. Snooze in Nicholson have a wide range of beds, mattresses and everything else that your bedroom needs, and all for an affordable price. But specifically, one of the great qualities of Snooze is the fact that no matter what interior your bedroom has, you will be able to find something to match your decor perfectly. The staff were helpful but left me alone when they knew I needed time to think. Snooze also offers some great bedroom packages so you can fit out your whole room in one foul swoop.

Dwell is the younger sibling of Tempted, a lifestyle store about 50m down the road…read more Where Tempted sells smaller more lifestyle oriented products (think photo frames and vases), Dwell stocks bigger household items like couches, floor lamps, armchairs and dining tables. Dwell isn't a high-end furniture store, but it's not competing with Fantastic Furniture either. It's a comfortable mid-range sort of store that is on par with the likes of Freedom (perhaps a little lower) in terms of price, but the stock is available in MUCH smaller numbers. If you want something for your home that isn't from the usual suspects like Freedom, Ikea, Plush, etc. without paying a fortune, Dwell is a great place to start. Oh, and should you see something you like but isn't quite right, make sure you let the staff know. They have catalogues full of things that can be ordered just for you.

My experience was disappointing though in customer service from the owner. I wanted to redo my home office, and was ready to purchase a few pieces of furniture. I went in a couple of times, and even dropped off wall paper samples to help me match fabrics. I was so very disappointed that the owner never got in touch with me about the samples and helping me to finalise my choices. The staff were great - fantastic actually. They were so wonderful to me, but in the end I felt like the owner was too busy to spend time helping me. Feel sad, cause I was really looking forward to getting a couple of the pieces :)
When I was on a hunt for furniture recently, I went into Sofas Direct without even knowing which…read moreshop I was in. After about five minutes though, the store's name would forever be etched in my memory bank because apart from the low quality that was obviously visible in the sofas on the floor, the salesman kept following me around the store. At first I thought it was because he really needed to tell me in-depth information about the features and availability but even after I asked for some time to wander around myself, he persisted on following me around. And as I made my exit, I wondered to myself if perhaps he thought I was going to try and shoplift a sofa and hide it in my little bag. Perhaps theft has happened before and so they are extra careful but I really didn't appreciate being treated that way and his manner really did push me out the door - faster than I could have said goodbye! Needless to say I am not a fan.

The woman working there explained that the factory would make up one in the style and fabrics that we wanted. We liked the style of their sofas; they were almost exactly what we wanted as far as size, shape and style. We put it down on our list as a possible option however in the end we found a sofa at another shop along Church Street that was perfect and at a better price.

We ordered a bedroom collection and 3 months later when it finally arrived they had sent the wrong furniture! It took a month before anyone could even tell us when we would be receiving the correct furniture. Finally the owner contacted us and was beyond rude and patronizing, had zero empathy, and could care less that we were sent the wrong furniture. So now we have to wait another 3 months to receive the correct furniture and they have already charged us for it. What started as a positive experience at first because the people who work in the showroom were helpful, ended up being the absolute biggest nightmare. Save your money and sanity and go somewhere else.

At almost $1200 AUD…read moreit was a big investment but after six months of consideration and examining sample fabrics I decided to go for it. Unfortunately it was quickly apparent that both the size (which was too big on all the cushions and the cover itself was so long that it was draped on the floor) and the colour were not as pictured in reviews - more purple than pink, presuming they had lots of lights on when they did their photoshoot. It was at this point that I realised - to my detriment - that Comfort Works has a ridiculous system designed to take your money. I would have been happy with a 75% refund and to return the goods to the company to sell again, but they (1) will not provide their address to send it back to (2) want you to take numerous photos of your couch, wash it, and spend more money to get it altered to fit (3) are a no refund online company. What was supposed to help me extend the life of my couches and be environmentally friendly has become just the opposite, I have two too-large couch covers that that will likely end up in landfill. Do yourself a favour do not buy from this company, they don't care about the customer, they care about making money, period. AVOID at all costs, literally.
