We have had a great experience getting our new sheltie puppy from Sheltiesmiles. Jodi, a very busy…read moremom to 7 human kids, was great in replying to my emails and questions. She happily scheduled a visit for us to come and meet the puppies and pick one out, which is probably the hardest thing we've ever had to do...just pick ONE out of the litter of adorable puppies. The contract is simple and straightforward. Jodi does request that on the day you get your puppy that you not come into the house--this is to limit/avoid the stress to the mother, who will worry and search for the "missing" puppy if she smells strangers in the home that day. Jodi was able to meet us half way to deliver the puppy to us. The stuffed animal and little fleece blanket that Jodi gave us, which had been rubbed on her mother and litter mates was very comforting, I believe, on the drive home and for the first days and nights with us. The puppies are litter-trained. After a few days, we began the house training process as usual, but did keep the litter box outside the door to help with any middle of the night potty trips (I have to carry her down some stairs to get to the yard, so if we're in a big hurry or it's the middle of the night the box was there for our back up. She is very confident, likes meeting visitors, is curious and explores everything, and is comfortable with most household sounds (vacuum, garbage disposal, beeps of microwave, doorbell, talking, laughing, sneezing, etc.). She has instantly fallen in love with our two year old sheltie and it's mutual. From the beginning she usually sleeps the night through--hurray! Incredibly disappointed in this rescue. My partner and I saw a dog online that we were interested…read morein and filled out an application. We requested a low energy dog and was told the one we were interested in was like this. His ad mentioned some training required but that he was otherwise laid back. The shelter told us he was only leash reactive. This was not the case. We brought the dog home and he was high energy and needed an incredible amount of training. Most notably he was highly reactive, which requires special training, and we were never informed he was like this. Reactive dogs can turn aggressive if it is not dealt with. His vet records, which were only given to us after his adoption, showed that he had a long history of reactivity and being on anti-anxiety medication that we were never told about. We reached out to the shelter for help 3 days after bringing the dog home and they didn't respond. It wasn't until we told the shelter that the dog was not a fit for our family that they responded, 2 days after our initial request. The shelter then told us we had to wait 9 more days before we could return the dog to their care, even after requesting a sooner date because he was causing a lot of stress to our household. When we returned the dog, the associate did not let us inside, and took his leash from my hand. I asked if we needed to fill out any intake paperwork. She said no so I asked if we could fill out paperwork because there was a lot of information they didn't tell us about the dog. She said no again, said there wasn't anything else they needed from us, and shut the door in our face. We had to wait nine days for an intake appointment that lasted less than a minute and required nothing but us passing over his leash. This was after we explained the amount of distress he was causing our dogs and the safety risk he posed due to his energy level and my partner's disability. It is clear that the shelter does not care where their dogs end up. This was an incredibly stressful 2 weeks for both my family and the dog because the shelter was not honest about his personality. This dog needs to be with a very specific household, and based on everything we told them about ourselves, we were not it. It seems it was more important to them that he was adopted by somebody, rather than him being adopted by the right family who could provide him what he needs. He suffers the most in this situation.

But my personal experience is as follows. My brother got a labradoodle from Golden Xpress and that dog was amazing in every way. She just recently passed of old age. My brother plans on getting his next Labradoodle from Golden Xpress. I myself fostered one of her labradoodles as the owner was deployed so I was simply raising the pup waiting for it's owner to return home. I fell in love. What a smart amazing dog. It was hard to hand her over. My son and his wife currently have two Labradoodles from Golden Xpress and they are just complete dolls, so incredibly intelligent, and social. My cousin is currently in the process of getting her first Labradoodle from Golden Xpress and I have met this older puppy and she is also just a complete lover. My son's mother in law is also currently in the process of getting her first Labradoodle from Golden Xpress. I met this 9 month puppy and fell in love. I held her for about an hour and she just put her little head on my shoulder and loved being loved. I wanted to take her home and add her to my fur family, but I have too many dogs right now. So, we took my son's mother & father in law to meet this pup and they fell in love and wanted her. So, I'll still get to spend time with this cutie. Stacey is a good solid reputable breeder. She only breeds dogs that the veterinarian approves for breeding. She would never keep breeding a sick dog as I saw in one reviewer say. My son's two females are in a guardian contract and he had to take them to the vet for the vet to issue full approval for them to begin to breed. My brother had also entered the guardian contract with Stacey and his dog had a difficult time through her first litter and because of that, Stacey dissolved the contract with my brother because she refused to put his dog through a difficult situation again. His girl got spay and was his free and clear so, it is complete nonsense that she continued breeding a sick male dog as stated by one reviewer. I saw a review that she sold a underweight and sick dog. I can guarantee that never happened. To that reviewer: Dogs eat poop. Google it, many groups regarding that and no vet is going say what you said yours told you. Its gross but it happens. Back to my review: Stacey doesn't have a property with 100 dogs on it. Most of the females she breeds are in guardian situations which means that someone like me can pick my puppy and that puppy will be a breeder IF her vet approves it. Once the vet approves it the female will be bred, but that female lives with her new family. It is nothing like what you see in backyard breeding situations where dogs are stacked on top of dogs, unhealthy, and pathetic, and discarded when she can no longer produce. I personally work to find these kinds of breeders and rally to get them shut down. So, I'm sorry but those couple bad reviews are just untrue. Years later, after our dog suddenly passed, we contacted the storage facility and learned there were only two. For something this sensitive and irreplaceable, that kind of mistake is unacceptable. If you use this clinic, you need to double‑check everything they do and everything they send out. When we brought this up, the vet denied ever telling us we had three samples and said that the number of samples we needed was based on how many females we wanted to get pregnant. She knew from the beginning that we were not breeders -- our only goal was to give ourselves the best chance at one future puppy. She also told us we "should have asked more questions," which felt like shifting the responsibility onto us. We did ask questions, but we had no way of knowing what we didn't know. That's exactly why we relied on her expertise. Instead of guiding us, she put the accountability back on us for not being experts in a field she specializes in. What makes this even more disappointing is that frozen semen is not a guaranteed one‑try process. Anyone can look this up: Frozen semen loses a lot of strength after thawing, so it doesn't work as well as fresh. Pregnancy rates with frozen semen are often 50-80%, even under ideal conditions. Because of this, many reproductive specialists recommend around 3-4 stored samples to have a reasonable chance at eventually getting a single puppy. So focusing only on "how many females we wanted to impregnate" completely missed the point. We weren't planning multiple litters -- we were trying to maximize our chances of one puppy. We relied on her to explain what we actually needed to meet that goal, and that never happened. Now our dog is gone, and our chances are lower than they should have been. This clinic needs better communication, better accuracy, and better attention to what their clients are truly trying to achieve.
