Beds, wardrobes, chests, bookcases, all that kind of stuff, all very reasonably priced. In fact, some of it was very cheap. The staff, it has to be said, seemed a little hapless. But, hey, it was cheap, so who cares? Probably worth a look in if you're after a new wooden bed frame or similar.

You find yourself walking around countless bed stores looking for a new bed. Archers stood out for one thing and one thing only - no pushy salesmen. We were able to bounce around all the mattresses we wanted to in peace without anyone following us around. Signficant enough reason to buy the mattress we liked from here as well as the bed. Extremely reasonable prices in comparison to other bed stores in the area.

The sales guy showed us the full range of their spring'less mattresses, starting from the cheapos and gradually building towards the tempur mattresses.. which didn't overly impress me despite their proactive advertising with brand association! We laid on and attempted to roll side to side on about 10 mattresses of varying density and price. There were a couple that we liked but we had other bed stores we wanted to have a look at. There was no hard sell. Just a promise of a price match if we found elsewhere selling the same products for cheaper. Their prices were the highest out of all the shops we went to. Quite a large range tho, worth a stop in even if you don't end up buying from them.

In Dreams, not only were we not allowed to test mattresses in peace, but pretty much that we were looking at the wrong mattresses (I really don't like being told I am wrong, especially after making a list of mattresses to check out online). I happened to like the 3k one - had I been left alone to convince myself to spend 3k on a mattress, commission would have been his. But he followed us around, patronised me and wouldn't let me do the bounce test in peace. So, the search continued for a replacement mattress (which was found, for a fraction of the price - lucky for me, unlucky for Dreams).

Easy to get to from our side of town, this is a huge unit filled with every kind of furniture you could think of, all sensibly grouped and fun for browsing. We managed to get an armchair (that perfectly matched the sofa we already had), a dining table and chairs (for £40!), and wardrobes. They also have sideboards, cabinets, chests of drawers, beds, mattresses, kitchen appliances - even telephone tables! Best of all - they deliver! Well worth a trip if you're in need of furniture, and it helps a great cause. They also pick up donations if you happen to be getting rid of something at the same time.

The guy reminded me…read moreof a greasy used car salesman who showed me the measly 2 spring'less mattresses they had then proceeded to tell me that "I had obviously been buying the wrong mattresses", because I didn't want a spring mattress. Rather a different approach to the other FOUR bed shops I'd been in previously, all of which had gone with the "I would never recommend a mattress as it is down to personal preference" school of thought. He pretty much told me that everything I thought about mattress was wrong, but didn't bother explaining why. He then pointed at a spring mattress and said "try that", then pretty much just walked away. Ummm... yea... even if I ended up liking that mattress (which I didn't), I would NEVER buy anything from him. Poor attitude and service from one guy makes me hesitant to return... EVER.
