After rolling into town on an annual motorcycle trip, we stayed here for one night. Lovely little spot as part of a memorable ride. A few years later we were planning a similar excursion and called to make a reservation for 1 night...because we knew it was a great spot. Gave a credit card to hold the room. BIG MISTAKE! At some random point before the trip, we were charged for 4 nights stay, then told by the owner she would reimburse us after the stay. That's how it worked. Many phone calls back and forth and a subsequent hang up, we called our credit card company to dispute the claim. Fortunately, we easily won that dispute. Now, 6 months later we get a call from the owner stating that they found a discrepancy in their books (blamed a worker) and to not be surprised to see a charge for 4 nights stay. Yep, the owner charged the card again! Our mistake for not cancelling that card after the first issue. As we enter a second dispute, of which the credit card company has all of the information from the first, we have learned the hard way that scheming over the course of year on other people's credit cards is alive and well.
