Comfortably cool albeit sparsely furnished rooms right on the main square in town. The…read moreair-conditioner works the best of any AC unit we've had in Europe on this trip. The room was on the fourth floor so that says even more about how well it worked. The rooms have a bed with two small nightstands on either side and a desk with a chair. Nothing else and it's a fairly large room so it feels quite empty and lacking a place to sit. No real decorations on the walls either. This is a chain of hotels throughout Germany and possibly beyond. They have their own brewery on site and a fairly large restaurant. We checked out the restaurant menu and because it looked rather chain like and was a little more expensive than the local offering across the street we chose not to eat here so we cannot talk about their lunch or dinner offerings. We did have breakfast the morning of our departure and can say that it was fairly complete, but not quite as fantastic as the two other hotels we stayed before arriving here so it cannot compare to a five-star hotel breakfast buffet but it was very good. They do charge 1.50 € for a fried egg which is a bummer, although they had scrambled eggs on the buffet. There is a garage under the hotel and it is only five euros to park there overnight. You also get in and out privileges by using your room card. Given the partial pedestrian only square on which this hotel is located that is very useful. The 1300s Benedictine Abbey is one block away from the hotel so this is a very good location centrally located in town. On this block there are five total restaurants, one is a café that closes mid afternoon, one is the hotel restaurant, three others are local spots as well. There is also an ice cream shop that seems to do extremely well. There is always a line at the front counter. There's not much to do in this town but it is a good stop if you want to stay outside of Munich - about an hour and a half away.

The hotel is located in Ottobeuren, near the Austrian border as well as Lichtenstein and Switzerland. In town is also located the Ottobeuren Abbey, which is worth a visit. The hotel itself was good, though the rooms are a bit dated (circa early 1990s). However, looking past that, the staff was great and the food also outstanding. The patio area was also nice. This is a lovely hotel placed within the centre of Memmingen old town. The reception is a small…read moredesk, but with the most polite staff. We booked over the internet, and had no problem checking in. Our room was on the 4th floor, which is served by stairs and a lift. The room itself was very spacious, with a queensized bed in the middle, large wardrobe, tea making facilities with chocolates, tv and sofa. The ensuite was very clean, with both a seperate bath and shower unit. We stayed there a couple of nights and this is probably the quietest hotel I've stayed in. its proximity to town is great, but it is just far enough back to be very quiet. The walls are thick and not a noise was heard all night. Breakfast was served with many options and the staff were very attentive. When we checked out, we were able to leave our bags in a holding area which was very convenient.
