The BECU ATM literally broke while my husband was depositing a fairly large sum of money. Had to wait nearly a month to get our money back.

Great staff, especially Nick Bourdage, who has been extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend BECU.

Ask the Community - BECU credit union

How do I phone the branch?

Hi Janice, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, we do not have direct phones lines to our branches. You will need to call our main line at 800-233-2328. Thank you!

Is it possible to exchange dollars to euro at BECU?

Hi Thais, thanks for checking. BECU only exchanges Canadian currency (no coins) at our Financial Centers in Everett and Tukwila. Thank you.

Does becu have safe deposite box service?

Hi Raj, thanks for the question. BECU does not offer Safe Deposit Box services. While we… Read more

One of their bots caught a PO address on one of the accounts and kicked me to the curb with no appeal to amend the situation. My branch didn't even have a manager to talk to and help out. I knew this bank was bad, but I didn't realize they were this bad. I had to scramble to change banks and with less than a week's notice, I had to deal with all the auto deposits so as to not miss my social security and pension deposits. It was a complete train wreck and I with I could give them a no star review.

Go Pound Salt -- Only It's Not Spelled That Way…read more Wells is known by many in the biz to be the hardest place to deal with. As a customer, my experience is they will always find a reason not to do something. This includes the time I needed a letter written by Wells to the US government so the govt would send US savings bond proceeds to my Wells account, thus enabling me to pay living expenses. I had been their Platinum account holder for many years when they denied this request. Earlier in my career I was their engineer and learned that their technical staff in our division turned over about one third of their 225 person staff each year. They pay little yet demand much, making them the place everyone loves to hate. You have to be able to find a better place than this to trust with the honor of your business. WSECU has worked well for me, though by all means go with the one that looks good to you, just not Wells.

At no time did he ask any of us for ID. He asked for his debit card. My sister pulled a man's wallet from her purse and handed over her dad's card. The fellow came back and and asked if she had the key and off we went. We could have been anyone. As we were leaving my husband mentioned that his father had passed that morning and the employee said he thought we might have to sign something to close the box but by then we had already emptied it. A manager type then came out and asked my husband and his sister to sign some forms but still never once checked to see if they were who they said they were. They have laptops for customers to use to do thier banking online here instead of with a teller. It's an interesting premise but given the total lack of security we experienced I would be reluctant to use these computers to do something as sensitive as personal banking. I would be seriously worried about keyloggers.

The bank insists that I painfully walk the 20 blocks roundtrip every week, to get these laundry coins. Such a petty, small thing, but this great bank with all its resources, is incapable of giving me, say, a two month supply. Because there is a shortage. I have asked myriad times, for a solution. I'd love to see the interaction when a customer opens an account, ready to deposit $50,000, and just as their pen is poised to sign the paper work, asks, of course I can access my money in the form of whatever small change I need, to manage my household affairs? Would the bank administration tell that person that no, it would not provide them change? I am convinced that they are lying to me, and give preferential treatment to business and fatcat acccounts, but that those of us with more modest savings, and who live in the downtown neighborhood, just aren't whom the bank seeks to impress. Overall this branch is not helpful or good at what they do. Much better and more thoughtful representatives at other branches. Their inability to solve this petty problem astounds me. I'm in the process of seeking another bank, because this is so insultingly, in-your-face, a simple refusal to be of service, literally insisting that a disabled person with significant arthritis in their joints, must walk in pain every week, to obey their idiot rules. I wonder if they will advertise this in their next campaign?

I had a safe deposit box at a BofA location (BofA tower, 5th & Colombia) that is closing. I had…read morethis box for 15 odd years, and never missed a payment. To "smooth the transition" I was offered a free years rent at any of their other locations. So I attempted to establish a box at this 4th & Pike location today. I was told that I could not open a box without a deposit account with them. This was never a problem at the prior location, as I have *never* had a savings or checking account with BofA. As an excuse, I was told that they now required a deposit account, to protect them in case I failed to pay the yearly rental fee. WHAT A CROCK. It's not like I can damage the box. It's not like I will make off with it. What she REALLY meant to say was that the $80/yr they charged me was not as an effective a way of screwing me, as all of the maintenance fees they can charge if I was stupid enough to have actual cash deposit accounts with them. Now I have to find a bank to rent me a box w/o having a deposit account with them. Only one thing is certain: loyalty to B of A gotten me NOTHING. It is not like I ever would have opened a standard account with them (Credit unions people: BECU in Seattle ROCKS) but I will actively avoid doing business with them ever. No credit cards, no mortgages. Their fundamental priority is NOT protection of their customers assets... It is FEE GENERATION, and they are unhappy unless they think they are bleeding you at the highest rate possible.
