This bank is a joke. They have a Mobil app that does not reflect correct information. I was told by one of the employees to get the app. They said it was the easiest way to do business with them. Little did I know, the app gives false information. What false information may you ask, information that gives account balances as well as status of payment. When I called to complain, they said they know it's messed up but there is nothing they can do. I then asked if they would refund me charges they applied since I had false imprisonment and the answer was no, even though it was their fault. What a joke. A real bank like USAA wouldn't treat folks this way. read more

Adios! This place - one of their in person reps at the Puyallup Branch, gave my ex husband my information! According to the ex, he was at the branch to sign for an RV loan and the lady there asked him if we were getting divorced. He claims he was surprised and ask her why she would ask that question. Then she tells him I was in earlier that week and took him off as the beneficiary on all my accounts. Which I did but it was not her place to tell him that. He stated he thought she was "hitting on him" which would not be delusional - he was an attractive man - just totally unprofessional on her part. I confronted the staff member and all I got was a denial, followed later by an "oh sorry". Been divorced since 2017 and then all of a sudden in 2022, BECU starts reporting his information on my credit report. Took over a week to solve. When I closed my accounts with them, my Visa remained open for months when I thought it was closed. I only found out because they continued to report it as open on my credit report and 10 months after it closed, I started receiving statements again. Have had one major violation of my privacy, which would not be appropriate to air here - just know it was horrible and these people still too no responsibility at all. i should have sued them....It was major, caused me issues at work.....For NADA. All I know is whenever I get anything in the mail from BECU, its always trouble. Any idea how fun it is to call them to solve these kinda when you don't have any accounts with them...Yeah...They have no issues wasting my time. No matter what goes on, it is never anyones fault, no one takes responsibility - its always a computer glitch.... read more

Every experience with this BECU location has been positive. Was with SeaFirst my whole life until they later became B of America, and was not happy with B of America from the get go. Fees were crazy high and I got fed up having to pay for checking. So happy I switched. Love the phone app and its ability to take photos and deposit into your acct. Such a time saver. Check your credit card statements. As of November they are raising their interest rate 5% "due to current ecomonic conditions". So when people are suffering the most in a pandemic, BECU decides to profit off of them! No compassion for those struggling. Closing out my credit card and looking for a new credit union. read more

I came into the office totally stressed out and not sure what I needed to do about a wire transfer to the IRS. Sarah sat me down, listened to my issues and helped me figure out exactly what needed to be done. She was so helpful and kind. At one point, we even called the IRS to get more information and then she discovered that the IRS person gave us the wrong information and Sarah kept digging until she found the correct information. I love BECU. I have been a member since I was 18 years old and headed off to college. I have always, always, always had wonderful costumer service through BECU whether on the phone or in person. Today I visited this Maple Valley location because my account had had fraudulent checks written against it. Ugh. Angie at the Maple Valley BECU helped me and was very sympathetic. She brightened my day which had started out awful! We stumbled through a few things together, for the paperwork, but otherwise the whole time spent working with them was smooth! read more

Me & my wife visited Maple Valley BECU, we applied for a auto loan, we were approved immediately, so we thought. We picked out a vehicle at a dealership, took the vehicle home & come to find out we were never approved. It's been 1 week plus trying to get financing, to not avail. So we're left high & dry due to their incompetence. It feels racially motivated as well with underwriting. They should have made this right, & financed this anyway, this is not our fault. read more

I went to BECU after talking to my friend who works for Boeing. All the folks in the office were extremely nice, but I was lucky enough to get Samantha Long as their representative. She had through answers for every question I had and continued to communicate with me online to solve all the small issues and questions that I had long after I left the office. I opened up 2 accounts and got a loan I needed with little effort. I was with Bank of America for 27 years, and Chase now for 15 years. I will move to BECU ASAP! She is awesome! read more

I have worked with multiple banks in my life. Their customer service is outstanding, and very welcoming. They're very knowledged, and well organized with their customers. From the first time you open account, to the next time you go in to do something. Their staff is very prompt with answering questions, or figuring out any problems. I have always worked with credit unions, but have to say this tops them all. I moved to Seattle recently from Cincinnati and dreaded the idea of having to change banks, I looked at Yelp for others comments and opinions, and decided to see for myself. I signed in to the electronic kiosk which was simple and easy to do. I, was able to enjoy surfing the internet using their guest Wi-Fi which was short lived due to the amazingly friendly, professional, cheerful greeting I received from BECU's customer service staff. At 51 years of age, I've experienced many interactions with good & bad customer service staff. Trust me when I tell you that if you're looking for friendly, helpful, knowledgeable money saving advice, I challenge you to interview any of them. I have never felt as appreciated and respected as they've made me feel. Even "over the phone" help line, I called them with an after hours issue with my ATM card. The gentleman that I spoke with eased my frustration by eloquently explaining what the problem was and staying with me until the issue was handled to my satisfaction,. I was planning to do some more banking with them and possibly switching over my main bank account which is with another bank - instead I will be researching other locations for my loan and account I currently have with them.
