Went here for a tour. our tour guides were very nice, and they could hold conversation, were nice and knew a lot about the campus and area around the school. they have plenty of majors to choose from. and the school seems very nice. i found that the style of the dorms were a bit hard for me to wrap my head around due to the fact that it's a victorian house. the dining hall is also a bit on the small size, but still has plenty of food options. i enjoyed the idea of the blue light app on your phone to alert people if you need help, and the hands on ability you get in the nursing school that can have the patient be realistic in them being able to puke and bleed. i also thought the criminal justice program and there ability to have mock crime scenes adds to the major. i will definitely consider attending this college if i get accepted read more

Although it is one of the oldest colleges in the country as a result of it's merger with the former Leicester Jr College, Becker is is not Harvard, nor does it try to be. Becker is job focused, with almost a "trade school" atmosphere. The faculty is supportive, and the school is fairly easy to get into. To stay enrolled, you need to work hard, but help is given to those who lack study skills. If you want to be a nurse, and want to avoid the loooooong wait list at public colleges, Becker will get you there. Because it is next door to WPI, an under femaled engineering school, women often find husbands while at Becker.....but that is another story....lol read more

My child attended Becker for 2 years. There was no conformity or unity in the program at all. The online portion of the program was terrible and the professors had no idea how to assist. The advisors just seemed to push them along. Many of the professors have left (including a great President) and my child got out in time to not rack up thousand of dollars in this school. Car was vandalized on campus and the drive from one campus to the other was awful with Worcester traffic and professors on the other end were not understanding of the traffic/commute. Since the first year they screwed up all my college transcripts and did not want allow me into the vet science program (which i eventually won that fight after losing out on a year!) After the first semester in the program, they told the vet science students that the schedules for the following semester would be made to the faculty's convenience, NOT the student's, since they were not expecting "so many students to pass into the next year"...so they are not prepared for students who actually can make progress??? So many conflicts with schedules from that point, not taking into consideration transfer students who need the extra credits to be full time and are stuck now taking extra classes that are not required or relevant for the major. All in all, the school's expectations of you as a student is that you are straight out of high school, you live on campus or 5 mintutes away, and have no real job or life at home...so if you have those characteristics, then Becker is for you! Unfortunately, it was not the case for myself being an older student.. I would of loved to of completed my 4 year bachelor's degree there since I had so many transfer credits, but I could not stand being part of their program any longer than for my associates degree. read more

It's hard to really recommend Becker. If you are interested in like nursing or veterinary tech or playing bad division III sports then you might tolerate it even when the cost is outrageous. The college always seems to be in financial distress and the services and facilities are at best low end. Go to a state college or community college if you can. Spend your tuition dollars more wisely. If you really need to go to Becker make sure you shop around for the best loan deal before signing up. read more
