My two cases had been with the firm for more than a year. During that time, I became increasingly concerned about the lack of progress and activity on the matter with one of my cases. After repeatedly trying to obtain information and clarity regarding the status of my case status, I made an appointment and went to the firm's office in person. Unfortunately, instead of having a professional conversation about my legitimate concerns as a client, the attorney was rude, condescending, dismissive, and ultimately raised his voice and yelled at me. He repeatedly gave misinformation during the status meeting, when advised the information was incorrect he told me to choose a different firm and he'll send me my files. He had done absolutely no work on my case which was with him over a year. His behavior became so atrocious and concerning that his supervisor Albert Cohen, Esq whom owns the firm intervened during the interaction. Following the incident, my case was immediately reassigned to a different attorney. What concerns me most is that this confrontation did not arise because I was making an unreasonable demand. I was asking questions about a legal matter that had been in the firm's possession for more than a year and about which I had serious concerns regarding the lack of progress and communication. Clients should be able to ask their attorneys questions about their cases without being spoken down to, yelled at, or made to feel as though requesting accountability is inappropriate. I am sharing my experience so prospective clients can make an informed decision when choosing counsel. I sincerely hope my experience with the newly assigned attorney will be different. There are so many other attorneys who will be willing to take your case and handle it appropriately for your benefit. I don't have to list any names because with this firm in particular, when you've met one, you've pretty much met them all from the very top to the very bottom. The biggest mistake my parents made was trusting this office. Once I got involved, I realized my parents had been very mistaken. My mom is elderly with English not being her first language and my dad is a stroke patient with dementia. This office hit the jackpot of prey, but unfortunately for them, I got involved and would not allow for my parents to be taken advantage of. The attorney assigned to our case seemed to identify as deaf, mute, blind, and incompetent, and his colleagues turned out to be just alike.
