I had been on a liquid diet for weeks, had lost a significant amount of weight again (this time I was down to 99 pounds at my lowest), and was feeling really lost about how I would be able to regain my nutrition/ability to eat/weight back. Thanks to medication from my doctor and Lauren's knowledge, patience, and encouragement, I went from barely being able to manage a few Saltine crackers to eating full meals again. And I gained the weight back. I did six sessions total with Lauren, and I'm so glad telemedicine was an option because without it, I wouldn't have reconnected with her (I live in a completely different area now). One major thing that I really appreciated about Lauren is that I felt like she really listened to me, like truly heard me. I got really into everything he was selling. He seemed very enthusiastic about helping me and I bought into it hook line and sinker. I bought the products, supplements, additional sessions, etc. I even read the books and saw the movies he recommended to better understand food and how it works in our bodies. Unfortunately, half way thru our sessions (so after 3 sessions), we both got frustrated that I was not losing any weight. Derek suggested that I go to his "doctor"...which happened to be the other woman I was considering and is NOT a real doctor. (I'll leave her name out of it because I never met her but I researched her through medical boards via other doctors and she is not properly credentialed). So I told Derek this and then never heard from him again. Again, this was a year ago. I was hoping maybe at the end of the year there would be follow up to check in and see if there was interest in working together but there wasn't. So that in turn left me uninterested as well. However, I am disappointed that I lost money on 3 unused sessions but honestly the way this all played out made me not want to call and argue for my money back. So if you are planning on going just beware. Their intentions are not always as straightforward as they may seem.

I have to admit, New Metabolism kinda changed my life…read more I came in last year in a bad state. Bloated and feeling fatigued and blah, I needed help and needed help bad. I thought I would come in for some education on eating. Boy, did I get so much more than that. Derek Johnson is the Nutritionist at New Metabolism. He starts you off with a 9 week program complete with a full metabolic exam, blood sugar exam and so on. Once you take the exams, he figures out your deficiencies and puts you on a supplement plan if need be. Then each week, he checks everything from body fat percentage, your eating plan, your sleep and energy levels. Based on what you tell him, he adjusts the plan as necessary. It turned out I was suffering from high blood sugar, a big vitamin B deficiency, Seratonin deficiency and adrenal fatigue. And after a few months of taking different supplements, my life is like night and day. All my friends say I look better, I'm trimmer, I sleep like a baby and I don't crash out after 1pm. I handle stress better and my mind feels alot sharper. The 9 week package may be a bit pricey for some people but totally worth it. He is also extremely professional from the materials he produces, his advice and meetings. He's extremely approachable and almost all of his clients are from positive word of mouth. He is very organized and punctual and flexible to meet with you anywhere - in person, Skype, or the phone. He really cares about your health and is happy to answer any questions you may have. A year later I still check in with him almost monthly and I always come away from my appointments learning more than the last appointment. If you're looking for a legit nutritionist (not someone who hands you a bottle of fish oil supplements and sends you off), go see Derek. You will not be disappointed!

I purchased the package of multiple visits which cost ~$700. During each visit, she would do this muscle strength test and gave me a whole list of herbal supplements to take, 6-8 of them, and they cost $40-$90 each. So I spent well over $1000 over the course of 1.5 months and did not feel anything or got any better. There are no medical evidence that this particular method of treatment works, I have done the research in major medical journals. From my personal experience, this is definitely a snakeoil scheme, and an extremely expensive one!
