So this place is pretty popular in Halifax. We also saw one in Sydney and no line so its popularity could be regional. So the beaver tail... we ordered two beaver dogs and one brownie one. I actually really liked the beaver tail hot dog but we could have shared it due to the size. The brownie one was just ok and not anything to write home about. A novelty you have to try when visiting Canada. When I first came across a Beaver Tail food stand while visiting Canada the name intrigued me. That is what drew me in. Once I tried a Beaver Tail it became like a cult to try to find the stands while traveling around Canada. Two years later I was once again in Canada traveling around and looking for Beaver Tails! The light pastry decorated with your choice of toppings gives you a number of different combinations for your dessert. They also sell other items like a hot dog wrapped in the pastry. Sometimes there can be a line at the food cart but I've been pretty lucky that if a line was started I was usually at the front. All the different stands I've been to have had friendly and fast service: sometimes you can strike up interesting conversations while waiting for your food. So we have had Beaver Tails many a time and 2 prior locations this week (Sydney and Halifax). The prior 2 the people working couldn't have been more friendly. This one they clearly hated their jobs. Beaver tail was overcooked and the woman taking the orders went from handling the cash directly to handling the food with no gloves, sanitizer or washing. read more

The pictures are terrible and there's no picture of the Beavertail because we ate it smelled so good, we ate it too fast. The poutine was delicious-the brown gravy was just salty enough that no additional salt was needed for the fries. The Beavertail was outstanding -crispy and light. You could taste the butter under the cinnamon & sugar. We were so glad we went with the original flavor. It was perfect. If you're a tourist and find yourself walking through downtown Saint John a snap at Beaver Tails is always an experience when on vacation. Sure it's not healthy but you're on vacation. It's allowed. We walked up to this small, location in the heart of town and received wonderful service from the two young girls working. They were friendly, helpful and prepared our order within a few short minutes. I wouldn't order poutine here, but you can't go wrong with a Beavertail. Fried dough, packed with tasty sugar, chocolate, maple or another flavor sounds yummy to just about any kid - or adult. You can get a pastry at Timmy's anywhere in Canada. Our maple glazed beaver tail was super yummy! Having a freshly hot fried tail on a chilly day really hits the spot. It wasn't too sweet either. However, $6 and some change for one tail is a bit high in my opinion. There are a few picnic tables close by to enjoy one. Or two. read more

Two of the most incompetent workers. I asked what flavour they recommended, and the girl said, "I don't know, I've never had one before." They had no idea how to make BEAVER TAILS. GUESS WHAT YOU WANT TO BUY WHEN YOU GO TO THIS MOBILE STORE. They said they couldn't get the hot chocolate "hot", and had to give us our money back for that. The beavertail balls weren't hot, either, and we had to throw them out. Hire new staff. This is a disgrace to the Beaver Tail chain name. read more
