What can I say, Yelp saved my face. I had no idea this was here until I Yelped it...came immediately after I saw the good reviews and cost factor. Got my monstrous chewbacca eyebrows threaded. (I'm lazy, ok? only do it like every couple of years LOL) I did have to wait a little because she was helping someone, but the actual process took about 5-10 minutes. Yes, I was in pain, but who wouldnt be, when thousands of tiny little hairs on your face are getting ripped out one-by-one between two threads?!?! probably why I dont do it that often. 3 stars for the threading. 1 star for the herbal facial. Paying $10 for eyebrow threading is not a good price off Columbia Pike. I have had the same experience for less and within 3 miles from Beauty Fair. I do appreciate that Reena has never made my eyebrows too thin. She understands what it means to "clean up." However, my last visit was horrible. Since I enjoyed the previous eyebrow threading, I decided to have my entire face threaded and then finish with this herbal facial that Reena boasts. Worst. Mistake. Ever. She missed so many spots rushing even though I ensured her that I wasn't in a hurry to return to work. I can still feel strands of hair that she skipped over. While my facial felt decent while she was performing it, my skin has suffered. She improperly removed blackheads and I now have blemishes from her actions. In addition, my face broke out into what appears adult-like acne. Apparently, she knew this might happen because I do remember the warning of "it will be worse before it gets better". My skin hasn't been this terrible since I was a teenager. I should have stuck with my normal threading girl off Columbia Pike and my normal facial (with chemicals). What angers me even more. My total cost for this nightmare was $110. $70 for the worst facial I have ever received. And $40 for a full face of threading. Are you serious?!?! read more

I've been coming here for about 8 years now to get my eyebrows threaded. Anju used to hook my eyebrows up and I loved them every time but I haven't seen her in the shop for about 2 years. The owner Reena does a good job and there is another lady that works in the first chair that does a great job with thick eyebrows but I'm not sure of her name. Her English also doesn't seem to be that strong. The price went up from $10 to $12 which is still pretty affordable. I would suggest making an appointment to avoid waiting when you get there. read more

Customer of Beauty Fair for years now (5/6) Almost always I work with Anju (shorter young lady). However yesterday I went after a loooong break-due to laziness and Anju was off. Note to self: Anju is off on Wednesdays. Either way I had made the trip there, and decided to work with Reena. She did a fantastic job nearly painless after so much growth. [upper lip and eyebrows] Things to keep in mind: Both of them have been threading for years so they have seen all types of brows... There are only three to two employees in the shop at once and if you decide to go closer to closing hour 6pm-8pm you may only have one person there. They tend to rush if there are more people to attend to, be calm that's just business. In all my experiences I have never had an issue, we chat, they thread, I pay, and I am out. I highly recommend this place over any of the rude/busier mall kiosks. read more

I've been coming here on and off for several years for threading services. I started making an effort about 6 months ago to come in regularly. Yes, threading certain areas can be painful (I usually need a tissue to wipe away the tears that form in the corners of my eyes), but it's worth it for the end result. It's hard at first, if you've over-plucked your brows for years, to get them close to normal again. With a little help from some awesome brow powder, my eyebrows look pretty nice, now! I know a lot of people come here for threading but I came for an Indian head massage, shampoo, and condition. Frankie is the best! He gave me a 15-20 min massage that was so invigorating and relaxing! I was in heaven! He massage every part of my scalp, then my temples, and shoulders. I must admit, this place is not exactly a sight for sore eyes; however, the threading services is the best I've had since moving to the DMV. The older lady was very professional and it only took her about 10 minutes to create the perfect eyebrows. she fixed my eyebrows after a bad wax job at the chinese nail parlor. I live in the neighborhood and have been going here on and off for about a year. They do a good job and it's competitively cheap. Parking is easy, it's in a small strip of stores that always seems kind of shady but never dangerous. Sometimes when you arrive, even if they're open, the door is locked and the beauticians are in the back. I had to take off a star because they charge extra to use your credit card. C'mon, this is the 21st century, who carries cash anymore?? I wouldn't mind so much, except that the first time they started charging extra they didn't tell me there was a fee to use my card until after they swiped it, that was a little rude of them. I'll admit my brows look great after I go here and it's convenient enough that I'll continue to get em done here. read more

Sigh! Dropping the rating for this place after my last visit. I got my lip and brow threaded and the lady did a poor job. I asked for a simple clean up. She removed part of my brow and tried to cover it with blank pencil. I thought that was bad, but when I got hone I realized she nicked my lip and it was bleeding. As I was driving down Columbia Pike, I randomly saw this place out of the corner of my eye. There it was, a neon Threading sign in the window! This is not easy to find in Arlington! I walked in a few minutes before closing time and both the woman at the front (I think she is the owner) and the young woman who was doing the threading were extremely sweet and welcoming and did not make me feel bad at all. Now, the important part - the threading! The young woman who did the threading was both fast and meticulous...a very rare combination! I explained to her that my last threader ruined one eyebrow, making it smaller than the other one. She listened patiently, did her thing, and a few minutes later I walked out with eyebrows that looked great! And the price? Only $10!!!! I lived in LA and NYC before moving here and was completely horrified at how expensive any grooming-related thing was...and at how bad most places were, even "luxury" salons. So, you can imagine my joy when I found this place, a few minutes from my house, for $10 threading!!! The best part of the evening? When I got home, my husband said, "Wow! This sounds weird but your eyebrows look really good." It did sound weird because my wonderful caveman husband never notices things like that. But it's just another testament to their work! Now, the salon isn't fancy and chi chi. It's clean and simple and the people who work there are warm and friendly. I am looking forward to going back to try out their other services! read more

Prompt, courteous, friendly, cheap, just as others mentioned -- but the final product wasn't right. After threading, although my eyebrows were each beautiful on their own, they were two entirely different shapes from each other. Yes, my brows look like they want to be on two different heads, but I'm not sure how the woman didn't notice or try to fix the shocking difference in brow shape between the two when she took a step back and looked at me... Fixing it to the best of my ability was the first thing I did when I got home. Later Addition: I forgot to mention, but she also caught a lot of my skin while threading, which means I have little scabs all around my eyebrows now. The internet is telling me now that this could have been avoided if I had pulled my skin tauter(?) -- also not something I was instructed to do at the time. All in all -- if you need cheap threading, you need it badly, you are in the area, and you have a good clue regarding which employees here can do a good job, try it out. Open before noon on Sunday! Walked in and the lady threaded my eyebrows right away. She was friendly, and even better, did a great job. She was very attentive and noticed a tiny strip of my eyebrow that doesn't have hair (no one else has ever noticed). My eyebrows are super arched and very even. What a great $10 spent. Beauty Fair has off street parking outside and they stay open pretty late in the evening. It's clean and bright. So today I'm new to yelp & eyebrow threading. A friend told me the other night threading is way cheaper and less painful than waxing so with my new found budget, I decided to give it a try. I turned to yelp to find a good place near me because I'm OVERLY worried about having my eyebrows ruined (it's happened before). Mine were ruined so badly once that about 2 years ago I started only having them done at Nordstroms for $35. Yikes. So I found Beauty Fair on yelp and decided to give it a try. I give it an A-. The highlights: parking was great, easy to find, no appt needed, only took about 10 minutes to have both my eyebrows and lip done. The lowlights: the lip freakin HURT!, and i'm definitely very red so had to come straight home rather than run other errands. Otherwise it's wonderful and I'll definitely return to threading and Beauty Fair! read more

This is an OK place if you need a quick eyebrow threading. I saw the reviews on yelp and needed a quick threading on Memorial Day, and they were open. It wasn't the best threading I've had done -- she did nick my skin underneath my eyebrow, and the shaping left something to be desired -- but it's good enough when you're in a time crunch. It's definitely cheap, and I was glad to find a convenient location that was open on a day when most places weren't. read more

I've had a few not so great experiences the last three or so visits. Anju has been very speedy and a little rough. The shaping hasn't been up to par.. and worse, I'm breaking out horribly after each visit. I have to time my visits for days I don't have to be seen in public for at least forty-eight hours, though the break outs last a week. And I don't have bad skin! I don't know her name, but she's such a sweet lady who is quick and thorough. She did miss like 2 strands today, but it's not that big of a deal. Good price. $10 for eyebrows. The threading did last me only 2 weeks. I was hoping it would have lasted me at least 3. Oh, and they don't generally accept tips on the card, so bring cash to tip. Overall... Got a coconut oil head/hair massage from Reena here and LOVED it. She checked out my hair, and made her own blend of oils and herbs to moisturize my scalp and hair.
