I hired House for a single session swim lesson while I was visiting Hawaii for a business…read moreconference and needed to continue my training for the Tulsa, OK Ironman. It was an exceptional lesson! House is an excellent communicator and focussed on the very specifics I needed to make improvements. I actually spent less little time swimming and more time talking about the mechanics of a good swimming technique. After practicing what House taught me, I was swimming multiple kilometers with a few weeks AND ENJOYING IT! Swimming went from my activity of most anxiety to being my favorite. This is the best money I have spent on training. I highly recommend her for swim coaching.

I wish I could give ArtLab more than 5 stars because they have really put a lot of effort into…read moretheir business. We found ArtLab in some summer camp guides and thought it'd be fun to try their 4 day 'Little Art Camp'. The space is located right next door to Aloha Crossfit in the business area above Piilani Highway off of Ohukai Road. From the first moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome and excited. Kids were already spray painting on a large sheet canvas and the teacher and her assistant were happily guiding them. The interior is large enough for a good dozen or more kids with tables and other areas to create art in. The kids make different art each day and I was more than impressed and amazed at their creations. The place has such a good atmosphere, good vibes, that we're already enrolling in the next Little Art Camp next month. Fantastic place!

When we got to Makena Landing, Lila was there ready and waiting for us. We had a very informative land lesson where she taught about the importance of reef safe sunscreen and using rash guards/shade, trying to minimize single-use plastic and basic ocean safety. She also went over some of the Hawaiian fish so that if we saw them, we would know what they were. You can feel her LOVE for the ocean. We headed down to the beach where we put on our mermaid tails and lei (I had to bring a few fake lei just for photos--it's MAUI!!) ... She had us take a few photos together and some by ourself. It was so fun and all the other beach-goers were really interested in the 5 mermaids who had "washed up on shore!" We headed out to the water and got busy exploring and learning to use our new tails. It was a little hard at first but she gave us pool noodles, snorkel masks and floaties so that we could get comfortable at our own pace. It didn't take long before we were splashing like real mermaids---because we are! :) It was so fun! The laughter had to have been heard from the beach. Lila had us swim around and she got some fun photos of us as group. We headed back in and got back our land legs. This was such a fun time! This would be such a fun mother/daughter, sister or bestie date. HIGHLY recommended for mermaids and mermen of all ages. Mahalo Hawaii Mermaid Adventures! Hope to see you soon!
