Do not spend your dollars here! The store is nice looking and well stocked but I have been followed two times in this store. Also, the prices have gone up and products I can find elsewhere for a few dollars cheaper. At first I was impressed with their product supply and though customer service wasn't helpful, it wasn't particularly offensive. The last few times I've been in there, there has been an armed guard which IS outrageous and offensive! A whole store selling as its sole revenue stream Black hair care products but yet hires an armed guard with a bulletproof vest and tactical gear looking like a paratrooper to patrol patrons.. The audacity and disrespect is outrageous!!! Other reviewers who commented on being followed are absolutely correct. This has now happened to me two times. Today the products I needed were right up front, a few feet away from the front door. This armed guard who was posted at the front entrance had the nerve to leave his "post" to come to where I was to monitor me. I was outraged! I will not return and will tell anyone to avoid this place. read more

When I cant make it to my Dominican beauty supply store , this is my go to. They are a beauty supply store that is more extensive than Sallys. Tbh, they are cheaper. Though, I wish they had more Dominican hair products, they have the essentials. The capsules here like Tea tree oil and hot oil treatments are a dollar or two cheaper than Sallys. They have a good selection of lashes, and good lash glue. They also have a bigger selection of bold hair colors like electric blues, hot red etc. Employees here are friendly. I've been to other Beauty 4U stores in the area. This is the 3rd location I've been to and I had a pleasant experience. The lady behind the wig counter was tidying up and asked if I needed help finding anything. She was pleasant, smiled and was welcoming. I am very indecisive so I was taking pictures of everything I liked, so I took a lot of pictures. Nobody bothered disturbed my shopping experience. When I checked out, I did ask for the colored gel for the roots and the the young lady at the check-out said they were all out. She did not try to look any further to see if it was someplace else. After walking around, I found a whole rack of the gels with colors and I showed her and she just giggled because she was clueless. Bottom line, this place has tons of hairstyling products and hair as well for braids, crochet, wigs, quick-weaves, everything and all textures and colors. read more

These people are horrible, they take your money and don't like to give refunds. I purchased something yesterday, realized I already had one at home, went back to return it which I paid cash for and they are telling me I can't get my money back only store credit. Are you kidding me. Not shopping there anymore. Actually this is the second time. read more

Okay so shoutout to Lisa who actually has traditional notions of good customer service. I don't know if she's a new hire or was just having a good day but she was pleasant. You don't always encounter pleasant employees at beauty supply stores. This supply store is going to have whatever it is you're looking for. I drive 25 minutes out of the way to come here because I know here's a high likelihood I'll find what I need. Every hair brand and type you can think of is here. All of the hair accessories you need are here too. It's in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking. I wish I could do a product price comparison but the prices are likely better than the smaller beauty supply stores in DC. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! There receipt clearly say you can make exchanges for store credit if product I open however their poor management does not do what they say. Not only do they follow you when you're in the store but they are extremely unhelpful and don't honor what they say themselves. I suggest if you have to get something from here DONT! He said the glass said somehow else HOWEVER how would I be a mind reader if the RECEIPT doesn't say so. TERRIBLE! Never will go here again. Only giving a star because needed read more

I had the worst experience here. I was the only person in the store and was followed around by two of the workers. The return policy is nonexistent it's a gimmick, you will only receive store credit no matter the item. I didn't appreciate the hostility when I asked about their policy I will never shop at any of their locations. read more

It's been a while since I've been here so I will like to go back soon to see if the service is as bad as some of these reviews. Mostly my stars are for the amount of stuff that this store has and the organization of the store! I came before a big trip I was going on and found everyyything I needed and more! read more

I will never understand why Asians open beauty supply stores, where African Americans are their primary consumers, if they don't like Black people. The owners are rude, racist and the whole shopping experience is very uncomfortable. Sometimes the inventory is good; other times it's scarce. But I avoid this place if I can because I'm tired of giving my hard earned money to racist people who rely on my business for their profit, yet can't provide decent customer service. And don't even try to return anything, ever. One time the owner double charged me for shampoo and had the nerve to give me store credit, so double check your bags and your receipts. They hire young Black women to cover up their racist antics but don't be fooled. read more

Never ever go to this store..The manager is disrepecful and rude. I purchased hair for crochet, I went directly to the stylist and she could not do my hair as a result of horrible hair product. She tried for over 6 hours to try to use it and it was not manageable. I returned with receipt and the Manger would not take back the item.. It was less then 24 hours and clearly a damaged product. He was so rude he wouldn't even discuss with me and walked away from me. I have never been treated so poorly. I shop at this store so often that I am now disgusted that I ever gave them my money. Please avoid this place at all cost. read more

Beauty4U is a huge beauty supply store that is open to the public. Think of a Safeway size store filled with wigs, hair extensions, curling irons, and other styling products. There are lovely salespeople who are patient and helpful. I was lucky enough to have Lillian and Leslie help me. They were knowledgeable and allowed me to take my time trying on wigs and clip on hair pieces. There are nail polishes and hair clips. There is hair color and all kinds of products. Located right off Route 28, this is definitely a place to visit for a multitude of beauty needs. read more

NO STARS!!! Do Yourself a favor and CANCEL this establishment!!! I have been here a few times and felt uncomfortable with the customer service, but none like TODAY 2/10/24 when I had over $150 worth of merchandise in my cart, asked for a wig cap to try on a wig (per their instructions) and the employee DEMANDED that I pay $1 in cash for a wig cap. Since I don't carry cash I kindly asked if he could add the dollar to my total of items that I already intended to buy and he was ADAMANT as if I was a lowlife thief who would abscond with paying ONE DOLLAR for a cut off piece of hosiery (not even a wig cap) that they are making a thousand percent profit off of. I decided right then that this establishment was not respectful of me or my kind and that I would share my experience and NEVER return. You can govern yourselves accordingly but remember to NEVER support businesses that don't respect YOU! As for ME and my sphere of influence...it's a hard PASS on Beauty 4U Muddy Branch Gaithersburg!!! read more

This place doesn't have all the supplies like the other beauty supplies stores and they have gone down on their inventory, yet upped their prices. The owner and his family watch you throughout the store. When I came in, they were watching me from the aisle I walked to get my hair gel to the side of the hair vitamins. When I went over to the lace wigs, I asked about the quality of hair and the grade yet the family member there didn't answer my question properly and kept saying "it's good". I highly suggest you do not come here. Aside from the fact that they have the "black lives matter" sign on the front of the store, but that is just a front. They hire young African American females as a cover up for how racist they are in exploiting black women for their money. read more

Things have definitely changed here. The staff used to be so helpful. I went in today and asked where something was, the lady just pointed to the left side of the huge story. Didn't say what aisle or if it was on the wall or table or anything. read more

The owners are stingy racists and assholes do not come here they rang up an item I didn't intend to buy and tell me I could not return it even thought it was the stores fault and gave me a fake store credit on a stingy piece of paper Worst beauty supply store and their stuff is over priced and cheap read more

It's during certain times when people show you who they truly are, so best to believe them. I will only support companies who support me. Won't ever return here again and telling everyone I know. read more

I've spent over $1,000 here between wigs, weaves, products, etc. Not only have my rewards been tracked inaccurately, but one employee told me I could return something and then the owner yelled at me that I couldn't. The receipt specifies certain things that I can't return, but doesn't say I can't return anything (even an unopened product.) There's a store in VA that's worth the trip, I will only shop here because it's local but am prepared to be disappointed. read more

I've had consistently positive experiences at this hair store. The staff are polite and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. There are far more staff that speak English here than other hair stores I've been too, which makes it easier to find what I am looking for. Despite the exterior appearance, this is actually a pretty small store. The selection of products is somewhat limited (although I've always been able to find what I need here). This is especially true for the the weave selection. They have a very limited amount of styles and colors, so don't plan on finding anything too fancy here. They do have ton of wigs though (very nice ones too!). If you're in the market for a good one (and don't mind paying a premium for them. I saw one wig that was over $400!), then you should definitely check this place out. The selection of products is pretty thorough. They sell a wide variety of brands from Cantu to Pantene, and ORS, to Isoplus. This is a good place to go if you need to replenish your supplies. read more

This is a superstore for hair care supplies. They specialize in hair care for women of color. There is a huge supply of wigs, weaves and the like. There are also gels, shampoo, conditioners, etc. I was looking for a very specific protective style for my non-relaxed hair. The young lady behind the counter answered my question and recommended a specific brand of braiding hair for my needs. They have reasonably priced accessories such as scarves, pins, makeup, etc. This is my second visit to this store and I will definitely return. read more

I've been coming here for the past year or so to pick up my favorite hair dye since i can never find it else where and i swear every time i come in their staff is extremely unhelpful and the "owner/manger" is rude. i asked when they would be getting the color i needed and the man took the dye i already purchased and said sorry we're no longer carrying this product after this batch is sold. i was a bit displeased but it wasn't the end of the world so i wasn't tripping but when i asked for the dye back he questioned me and said i hadn't paid for it when i clearly had my receipt in hand and showed him. on another visit i had asked him about earring and completely ignored what i had to say. whenever you ask staff where a product is or for help they have no clue. very disappointed read more

The older gentleman that may be the manager treats customers terribly! He refused to honor a veteran her discount. I asked for help with an item and was shown the sign for no refunds. No effort towards resolution. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I will NOT shop here and patronize such deplorable disregard for customers! I urge everyone to take their business elsewhere, PLEASE! read more

Great product selection, but like far too many Asian beauty supply stores. they have horrific customer service.

This store is awful. It's a shame because it's large, clean, and well-organized. Their customer service policies are awful. After shopping there for some time, I tried to return an unused, unopened product and was denied even store credit. The product was not made for my hair type, but the owners considered neither the reason for exchange nor loyal customer support. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I read all the reviews and even though I saw all the negative comments, I gave this place a try anyway. They are horrible and its not a racist thing. They do not know how to service any one, regardless of race. I went to make a major purchase and they couldn't be bothered. They stood around the register talking to each other. There was no other customers in the building. I took my $2000 purchase this morning to a competitor. read more

Since covid this store will not let you try on wigs. It's been 2 years. I have locs so I need to try on a wig and they will not. On top of that they will no let you return the wig if it does not fit. They expect me to pay $150 and don't care if it doesn't fit. Ridiculous. There attitude is nonchalant and they are rude. If you are black which there clientele is they will follow you around like you are going to steal. read more

This beauty supply store has everything I need for my hair and more. Kinnda easy to miss but still close enough to my home in Germantown.

YES INDEED I really like this store! Its pretty, big, the staff is nice. Only thing I could say I dont like is the slow jam music, but i understand their playing whats popular. Also they don't carry the wig that i love getting so I dont shop here as often but this is my favorite hair store!! Way tah go folks! Keep up the good work! :-D read more

Beauty 4U is the best beauty supply store in the area in my opinion. HOWEVER, I felt very uncomfortable with the way the lady (Supervisor) talked to the young lady helping me. She talked to the girl helping me in a very demeaning and mean tone. (Sunday afternoon 11/24/2017) it is unnecessary to chastise employees in front of customers. Pros- large, organized, clean Cons- over priced, and no one offered to help me If i lived closer I'm sure I'd go back again, but I didn't find it to be worth the 25 minute drive. This is a large, clean beauty supply with many choices for hair care products, extensions and wigs. The employees are nice but the male manager/supervisor is hostile at best. As soon as I paid I realized that I'd bought 6 of an item instead of the 5 I intended (pregnancy brain?) and he was incredibly rude about refunding my money for the sixth extra item. Another time he seemed annoyed that I wanted an unopened package of braiding hair. It's just odd. Good supply stores are hard to find around here but I'm determined to find another one with better customer service and less hostile management. read more

The staff was really friendly and approachable, and their selection of wigs, extensions, braiding hair and hair care products is amazing. I wear my hair naturally and it is the first time in a long time that ALL the products I used were under 1 roof. I went in to just get a vacation wig and browsed for a long time. The staff, Mina and Ashley, were really helpful, gave honest opinions and helped me find something in my planned budget. The prices on the hair products were about 10% more than I would usually pay ordering them online or at other discount chain stores but frankly for the convenience of getting something same day, I will definitely think of this store first. read more

I just found myself coming to this store for about the 3rd time now. I'm a man so it's rare that u would catch in a beauty supply store, but they have something there that is really important to a man with a beard. That's beard Oil, it's the best & my girl loves the way it smells! read more

Buyer beware!!!! I purchased 5 bags of Batik "Reggae Braid" 1B/30 from Beauty 4U. The bags of hair were thin compared to hair I've purchased at other stores in the area. Once the bags were opened and used to do a "kinky twist" style, there were short pieces of hair in the bags that could not be used. I believe they were included as filler and most of the "1b" color was in short pieces. I've never had a problem with this brand (Batik) from other stores or ordering it online. I do not recommend purchasing this hair from this store. read more

I was in search of a clip-in hair piece to keep my hair tidy and away from my face while growing it out. A simple jaw-clip with hair. They carry extensions, wigs, falls and other such hair pieces, but nothing remotely close to what I was looking for - with only 3 or 4 exceptions with no color variety or variances. My issue is with customer service. My first visit was a let down. I wasn't approached by sales representatives and had to find someone who could guide me to the area that may carry what I was looking for. My second visit was equally as disappointing. With thousands of hair pieces, bits, strands etc., it's difficult to believe they don't carry a simple clip in hair piece. More over - they didn't take a moment to direct me to a place that does carry them or offer to order one for me. VERY disappointed. As a hairdresser, I have occasions to help a client find a wig or piece to help cover bald spots as a result of alopecia, radiation, chemotherapy etc. I will find a new source for such items for the future. I've been looking for a pretty nice beauty supply and I think I've found it. I was in the Maryland area and I was in need of some hair products. I browsed through the Yelp recommendations and came upon Beauty4u. I was excited to see the pictures of their products and how clean the store was. I then decided that this is where I needed to be. As I came in the store I was greeted by three different cashiers/sales persons. Thumbs up for having a nice clean welcoming environment. What I love most about this beauty supply is that they cater to both Caucasian and African Americans. I've never seen that done before so I was blown away. I was in a rush so I didn't get to do a complete walk through of the whole store but I will indeed come back to this business. read more

THE WORST!!!! Although they are somewhat overpriced I was a frequent customer and drove over 10 miles to support this store BUT THEY DO NOT APPRECIATE THEIR customers. I wasn't asking for money back (so sad) The manager was rude..really poor customer service. read more

Went to Beauty4U a couple of weeks ago, looking for a wig. And l must say the experience was less than to be desired... this was my second time there as l had visited over the summer and stopped by so now that I've relocated to the area from California l thought this would be my go to spot. WRONG, l was followed around as if l was a thief coming to steal a wig... for starters l am a professional woman of a particular age that could afford anything l wanted in the store, so l don't need someone's attitude insinuating anything less... and the woman had the audacity to yell at me because l tried on a wig... if she wasn't so adamant about running back to re situate anything i touched as if l had the coodies, she could've explained to me their policy when providing me a cap.... don't think I'll purchase a wig there again... and if l can get my beauty products elsewhere l will in the future... l only spend my money where my business is respected/valued... read more
