Do not spend your dollars here! The store is nice looking and well stocked but I have been followed two times in this store. Also, the prices have gone up and products I can find elsewhere for a few dollars cheaper. At first I was impressed with their product supply and though customer service wasn't helpful, it wasn't particularly offensive. The last few times I've been in there, there has been an armed guard which IS outrageous and offensive! A whole store selling as its sole revenue stream Black hair care products but yet hires an armed guard with a bulletproof vest and tactical gear looking like a paratrooper to patrol patrons.. The audacity and disrespect is outrageous!!! Other reviewers who commented on being followed are absolutely correct. This has now happened to me two times. Today the products I needed were right up front, a few feet away from the front door. This armed guard who was posted at the front entrance had the nerve to leave his "post" to come to where I was to monitor me. I was outraged! When I cant make it to my Dominican beauty supply store , this is my go to. They are a beauty supply store that is more extensive than Sallys. Tbh, they are cheaper. Though, I wish they had more Dominican hair products, they have the essentials. The capsules here like Tea tree oil and hot oil treatments are a dollar or two cheaper than Sallys. They have a good selection of lashes, and good lash glue. They also have a bigger selection of bold hair colors like electric blues, hot red etc. Employees here are friendly. I've been to other Beauty 4U stores in the area. This is the 3rd location I've been to and I had a pleasant experience. The lady behind the wig counter was tidying up and asked if I needed help finding anything. She was pleasant, smiled and was welcoming. I am very indecisive so I was taking pictures of everything I liked, so I took a lot of pictures. Nobody bothered disturbed my shopping experience. When I checked out, I did ask for the colored gel for the roots and the the young lady at the check-out said they were all out. She did not try to look any further to see if it was someplace else. After walking around, I found a whole rack of the gels with colors and I showed her and she just giggled because she was clueless. Bottom line, this place has tons of hairstyling products and hair as well for braids, crochet, wigs, quick-weaves, everything and all textures and colors. read more

Okay so shoutout to Lisa who actually has traditional notions of good customer service. I don't know if she's a new hire or was just having a good day but she was pleasant. You don't always encounter pleasant employees at beauty supply stores. This supply store is going to have whatever it is you're looking for. I will never understand why Asians open beauty supply stores, where African Americans are their primary consumers, if they don't like Black people. The owners are rude, racist and the whole shopping experience is very uncomfortable. Sometimes the inventory is good; other times it's scarce. But I avoid this place if I can because I'm tired of giving my hard earned money to racist people who rely on my business for their profit, yet can't provide decent customer service. Beauty4U is a huge beauty supply store that is open to the public. Think of a Safeway size store filled with wigs, hair extensions, curling irons, and other styling products. There are lovely salespeople who are patient and helpful. I was lucky enough to have Lillian and Leslie help me. They were knowledgeable and allowed me to take my time trying on wigs and clip on hair pieces. There are nail polishes and hair clips. There is hair color and all kinds of products. Located right off Route 28, this is definitely a place to visit for a multitude of beauty needs. read more

I have been here a few times and felt uncomfortable with the customer service, but none like TODAY 2/10/24 when I had over $150 worth of merchandise in my cart, asked for a wig cap to try on a wig (per their instructions) and the employee DEMANDED that I pay $1 in cash for a wig cap. This place doesn't have all the supplies like the other beauty supplies stores and they have gone down on their inventory, yet upped their prices. The owner and his family watch you throughout the store. When I came in, they were watching me from the aisle I walked to get my hair gel to the side of the hair vitamins. When I went over to the lace wigs, I asked about the quality of hair and the grade yet the family member there didn't answer my question properly and kept saying "it's good". I highly suggest you do not come here. Aside from the fact that they have the "black lives matter" sign on the front of the store, but that is just a front. I've spent over $1,000 here between wigs, weaves, products, etc. Not only have my rewards been tracked inaccurately, but one employee told me I could return something and then the owner yelled at me that I couldn't. The receipt specifies certain things that I can't return, but doesn't say I can't return anything (even an unopened product.) There's a store in VA that's worth the trip, I will only shop here because it's local but am prepared to be disappointed. read more

I've had consistently positive experiences at this hair store. The staff are polite and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. There are far more staff that speak English here than other hair stores I've been too, which makes it easier to find what I am looking for. Despite the exterior appearance, this is actually a pretty small store. The selection of products is somewhat limited (although I've always been able to find what I need here). This is especially true for the the weave selection. They have a very limited amount of styles and colors, so don't plan on finding anything too fancy here. They do have ton of wigs though (very nice ones too!). If you're in the market for a good one (and don't mind paying a premium for them. I saw one wig that was over $400!), then you should definitely check this place out. The selection of products is pretty thorough. They sell a wide variety of brands from Cantu to Pantene, and ORS, to Isoplus. This is a good place to go if you need to replenish your supplies. read more

There are also gels, shampoo, conditioners, etc. I was looking for a very specific protective style for my non-relaxed hair. The young lady behind the counter answered my question and recommended a specific brand of braiding hair for my needs. This is a large, clean beauty supply with many choices for hair care products, extensions and wigs. The employees are nice but the male manager/supervisor is hostile at best. As soon as I paid I realized that I'd bought 6 of an item instead of the 5 I intended (pregnancy brain?) and he was incredibly rude about refunding my money for the sixth extra item. Another time he seemed annoyed that I wanted an unopened package of braiding hair. It's just odd. The staff was really friendly and approachable, and their selection of wigs, extensions, braiding hair and hair care products is amazing. I wear my hair naturally and it is the first time in a long time that ALL the products I used were under 1 roof. I went in to just get a vacation wig and browsed for a long time. The staff, Mina and Ashley, were really helpful, gave honest opinions and helped me find something in my planned budget. The prices on the hair products were about 10% more than I would usually pay ordering them online or at other discount chain stores but frankly for the convenience of getting something same day, I will definitely think of this store first. read more

Buyer beware!!!! I purchased 5 bags of Batik "Reggae Braid" 1B/30 from Beauty 4U. The bags of hair were thin compared to hair I've purchased at other stores in the area. Once the bags were opened and used to do a "kinky twist" style, there were short pieces of hair in the bags that could not be used. I believe they were included as filler and most of the "1b" color was in short pieces. I've never had a problem with this brand (Batik) from other stores or ordering it online. I was in search of a clip-in hair piece to keep my hair tidy and away from my face while growing it out. A simple jaw-clip with hair. They carry extensions, wigs, falls and other such hair pieces, but nothing remotely close to what I was looking for - with only 3 or 4 exceptions with no color variety or variances. My issue is with customer service. My first visit was a let down. I wasn't approached by sales representatives and had to find someone who could guide me to the area that may carry what I was looking for. My second visit was equally as disappointing. With thousands of hair pieces, bits, strands etc., it's difficult to believe they don't carry a simple clip in hair piece. More over - they didn't take a moment to direct me to a place that does carry them or offer to order one for me. VERY disappointed. As a hairdresser, I have occasions to help a client find a wig or piece to help cover bald spots as a result of alopecia, radiation, chemotherapy etc. I will find a new source for such items for the future. Went to Beauty4U a couple of weeks ago, looking for a wig. And l must say the experience was less than to be desired... this was my second time there as l had visited over the summer and stopped by so now that I've relocated to the area from California l thought this would be my go to spot. I have been to this store a few times. I thought this was going to be a great store to come to especially when they give you points for buying items. But during Christmas time I bought my daughter earrings and the guy had put it in a small bag which he took the earrings out of the spinning case. When I gave them to my daughter she opened the little bag and tried to take one earring out and the ball fell off. She didn't even get to use them. I took them back to beauty 4 u and they said I couldn't return them and I could only get store credit. So they took the earrings and gave me store credit. When I went to get some things they said I didn't have store credit. They said I needed my receipt which they had taken. So now I am out of money which means they stole from me. I've been looking for a pretty nice beauty supply and I think I've found it. I was in the Maryland area and I was in need of some hair products. I browsed through the Yelp recommendations and came upon Beauty4u. I was excited to see the pictures of their products and how clean the store was. I then decided that this is where I needed to be. As I came in the store I was greeted by three different cashiers/sales persons. Thumbs up for having a nice clean welcoming environment. What I love most about this beauty supply is that they cater to both Caucasian and African Americans. I've never seen that done before so I was blown away. I was in a rush so I didn't get to do a complete walk through of the whole store but I will indeed come back to this business. read more
