Moraa's return was long awaited! I've been a client of Moraa's since 2016, and I am so happy to tell everyone about her amazing service and incredible quality. Moraa takes care of your hair, from root to tip your locs are in excellent hands. Her work is magnificent and worth the time, great conversation, and end result. I've never left her chair without feeling like I was on cloud nine. I've never had another Loctician that was as skilled and as invested in my hair as she is. This is the total package wrapped into one amazing service. Best advice: book now! read more

The best Loctician I've ever encountered. Her skill level is mastered as she does not rely on any product whatsoever. Highly recommended for anyone with dreadlocks. She is the absolute best. read more

I am very picky about my locs. I started them myself and I don't like other people touching them or twisting them unless they do it just right. I have to say that I was a little worried when Moraa said she has a "special method" for locking, because I'm very protective. But I will come here every time I feel too lazy to twist my own hair. The atmosphere at Beautiful Loks is great, and Moraa is very knowledgeable and skilled at what she does. This is the place to go to get your hair locked and retwisted. Believe me when I say it, because I'm the pickiest person in the world. read more

I was a client for a good 3 sessions then an emergency happened and I had to reschedule. 2 days later I came in for my reschedule appt only to be told I would have to pay for the session I did not attend. I can understand this rule if it was coveted to me when I initiated cancelling or even prior to me becoming a customer but for me to get in the chair and be told I must cover ($150 for loc maintenance) a missed session I called in advance to cancel because of a family emergency was disappointing. I paid and left for the current session and left. You can't possibly need need money that bad you push off a returning paid customer. Tried to reschedule and was denied services. Bad business and terrible customer service for what would have been a loyal customer for years. I will stir my associates away from Mora Bey and her loc services. read more

Moraa has saved me from the nightmarish land of gummy products, hours of too hot hood dryers and sore arms. She is the only I will ever trust again with my locs. And my hair loves her right back. It has grown at an astronomical rate since she has been locking it. She always responds to my requests for an appointment immediately and I almost always have my first choice. As for Moraa, she is wonderful herself. Warm, soothing, knowledgeable, skilled and wonderfully humorous, I consider her more than a "hairdresser." She has become a friend. read more

Moraa is the best. Seriously I probably would've shaved my head by now if it wasn't for her. She's come through in the clutch for me multiple times, especially recently when i was getting my hair done before eloping with my bride to be ;). She's such a calming spirit and a wonderful person. I always come out of there feeling fresh and clean. Her technique for tightening up locks keeps them looking fresh and clean for weeks - and they're really easy to take care of too. I love supporting local small business owners and Moraa is a small business owner with a heart of gold. Definitely check her out! read more

UPDATE: Moraa is the BOMBDIGGITY and my locs have never looked better! 5 Stars So Moraa was recommended to me by 2 people who didn't know each other so I was VERY excited. She returned my phone call quickly, scheduled me quickly (like had an ASAP appointment available!) Her workspace is peaceful and soothing, the aroma of Sage & something else I couldn't put my finger on..... I just had my first appointment, and my hair was instantly transformed. Smoothed out locs, no frizzies, tight but not uncomfortable at the scalp. I look forward to seeing her in 6 weeks and having the experiance all over again! read more

Hi I am one of Moraa's oldest work of hair,I have returned to her when I was living in NY & AZ . As long as I have locs I will always have her maintain them, she is go good.... PEACE & LOVE G read more

Moraa was amazing from the second a picked up the phone for a consultation. She worked with my schedule to get me in ASAP, which I was very fortunate for. I learned so much about her process and how passionate she was about her skills while I was there and knew as soon as I sat down that I had chosen the right place for my hair style. I will definitely be back repeatedly to have Moraa tighten my locks. The atmosphere was very peaceful, and she made sure I had a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Thanks again! read more

I've had palm twists for about 10 years, Moraa's locking style was a welcome change - my hair and scalp already feel better. She was able to add me to her calendar with little notice. Studio is a pleasant, clean - peaceful environment and Moraa is a great person to be around, a very calming spirit. Highly recommend Beautiful Loks and can't wait for my next visit. read more

Moora is back in the bay area! And I am super ecstatic! She is one the best loctiaican's out here in California. She's professional and very detail oriented. I never have to ask her to repair one of my struggle locs. I love that about her. I always know my hair is going t look amazing when I step down from her chair. read more

In the past year my fiance' and I have found there is 1 other loktician that provides hair services similar to Moraa's. By coincidence this Loktician happened to be my future hubbys lifelong friend (see my review for Nyansapo Wisom Knot) and she had been keeping his loks well kept up until about a month ago. That would be fine and he could wait under any other circumstances but as our wedding is this Saturday he will be looking forward to re-visting the comfort of Moraas shop. She is the proper lady for the job as she has a very careful eye for detail and her knowledge of locking is so extensive. The reason we no longer give her 5 stars is that it seams her prices have went up substantially. :( read more

Moraa has got some serious skills. I got loc extensions from Moraa almost 4 years ago. None of them have fallen out and my natural hair has grown beautifully with them. I like to play with color and her locking technique even stands up to the coloring processes my colorist puts them through. Best choice for professionals who want permanent dreadlocks but can't go through the awkward fuzzy locking phase. read more

I've had locks for five years and Moraa has been maintaining them for the last two. This sis is the bomb! I've been in beautiful locification and growth ever since. She also does exquisite up-dos and styling. A++ read more

Moraa is really friendly and an excellent loctician. Most importantly, she is fast and professional. She returns phone calls, is on time, and was considerate of my time. Her shop is really nice with a comfortable atmosphere. My mother and family do hair, so I very rarely have anyone else work on me. I'm very particular about who I go to see, but she did a great job and I'll be going back again. read more

My locs are 7 years old and I've always maintained my loks. My partner recommended Beautiful Locs and after I saw what Moora did with her locs, I immediately called to make an appointment. Moora called me within a couple of hours to schedule my appointment. The studio was CLEAN, very intimate and cozy. I felt I was at home or my grandmothers house on the floor of her living room. Anyone who wants a professional, positive experience, call Moora. Im thankful for her expertise, good vibes and beautiful spirit. read more

Moraa is the best loc specialist in the bay area. Her technique is amazing and she has helped me gain my confidence. Her studio is very clean and peaceful. She has an outstanding personality with excellent professionalism. I am so happy that I made the decision to go to her. Highly recommend beautiful loks! read more

I hope those of you reading believe the "positive" 5 star rated comments versus the one negative comment written by someone who apparently hasn't been happy with any experience she's had from local business. From my experience, Moraa NEVER does anyones hair without a consultation and a test of her method on the clients hair before hand to determine if they like the method. She's very clear this is a different method from twisting, and I personally love the method !!! My hair no longer thins from the constant twisting, I can wash and go as soon as I leave the chair, and she is one of the fastest locticians I know. So I'm not clear how one could be misled. I highly recommend Moraa, and her prices are reasonable given the quality of work and for what you are getting when you leave her salon. Ashe' read more

Moraa has been caring for my hair for the last two years. I have had locs since 2003 and my hair is currently the healthiest it has been. Moraa is easy to schedule appointments with, always on time, and gets you in and out. I do not hesitate to give her 5 stars. read more

I enjoyed my initial appointment with Moraa. She was very quick and efficient. I am starting my locks and decided to have Moraa do them for me as I saw her previous work with other clients. I was very impressed and I love my hair even more now as a result of having her fix my hair for me. Her work space is very relaxing and is a stress-free place in which you can do something nice for yourself, like groom your locks. I will be seeing her in the future and hope you all do the same. Lastly, Moraa is such a positive person with good energy. The whole experience was favorable. read more

I have tried locking my hair several times over the past twenty years with little success. Parts of my hair just don't take to traditional twisting and I never liked having to use oils or other products to make the locks hold. After spending a really nice morning with Moraa I have a head of locks that have taken hold without any products and almost no maintenance. I've never been this happy with my hair. Moraa made the whole process great. She has a great space that is really comfortable. She was very easy going and I had a great time with her while she did my hair. I also loved that she was right on time for the appointment and we finished within the time she estimated. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to start locking. Thanks Moraa read more

I am so thankful for Moraa. My loctician decided not to do my hair anymore. I had no idea on how to take care of my locs. Moraa is a blessing and a beautiful lady, who rescued me. I love my hair. I can workout and wash my hair without it unraveling. It still looks good. read more

I had locks for five years. Moraa maintained them for 4.5 of those years. She always did an excellent job. She was timely, very accommodating in scheduling, and always most professional. Aside from the wonderful work she did one of the best things was being in her presence. She is charming and delightful. She is open, has a fine sense of humor, and from the beginning treated me like an old friend. Going to see her felt like going to a spa. I always felt pampered. I cannot praise her highly enough. read more

I have had my locks since 2000. In that time I've had several people care for my hair including myself with many compliments but I have had Beautiful Loks as my hair care person for a number of year now and the style that Moraa uses has lasted the longest and is by far my favorite. I have recommend her to anyone that is locking or has been locked and is looking for someone to take care of them. You can't beat beautiful loks. read more

I made an appointment fairly short notice for my sister. I was asked to come in at 2pm for a consultation. When we arrived we waited outside on the street for about 15mins. I called the shop 3 or 4 times. I could hear the phone ringing inside but no answer. As we decide to leave someone comes out and let's us know that the stylist was actually not in the shop and would return shortly. She was nice and let us in. We removed our shoes in the doorway and sat down in the living room or "waiting area". The salon us in a room off the living room. About 2:30-2:45 the stylist arrived and conducted the consultation. We made an appoint for the next day. She did a great job on my sisters dreds. I don't prefer to have my hair done in someone's home but I respect the small business owner. That being said you have to respect customers as well. If your going to have a salon in your home then your home should be clean and neat like a customer would expect a business to be. read more

Were should I start...... Moraa is a gifted healer of the hair and the heart. I enjoyed my appointment with her and felt as if I was having lunch with an old friend. I was so happy to have met her and have my hair and soul nourished. She took her time with an attention to detail that I don't usually find with other hair caregivers. The method is very different then I was used to but the results were fantastic and long lasting. I got caught up with the flow of life and neglected to leave a review at my first appointment and happily have another appointment set for this evening. I'm looking forward to putting my locks in her loving and gentle hands and feeling renewed, beautiful and transformed upon leaving. Sista is worth the extra expense and if I could give more then 5 stars I would. Being 5 months pregnant I would forgo any craving I have to save the money needed for a extra dose of beauty. That should say it all. Well worth the investment. read more

Still flying from SoCal to the Bay every other month to have Moraa maintain my loks. She is well worth it. Her great spirit and professionalism are at the highest level. I can't begin to tell you what a pleasant experience it has been seeing Moraa going on five years now. She gives outstanding service, is a person of integrity, and is committed to providing a warm and inviting environment. I unequivocally recommend that you give her a try. read more

Morraa does an excellent job. I have had my hair comb twisted / palm rolled for about 3 years. I had to find a new shop I came across her website while doing an internet search and gave her a call to set up a consultation. She promptly returned my call and I had an appointment scheduled for the next day. Parking was easy to find her studio is very clean beautiful bay windows with lots of sunlight and even had some calming music playing. I love her method because I can work out and not worry about my hair getting frizzy also washing my hair wasn't a hassle either no loose/frizzy hair like I had with the twisting/palm rolling method. My hair stayed nice and clean looking for at least a month and a half. and that was after working out and daily hair washes I was amazed. My wife also likes the clean look of the locks with Morraa's method This is now my go to place, Thank you Morraa will see you soon. read more

I was looking for someone to wash and retwist my locks. I had a bad experience at Nappy or Not and was excited to find another hairdresser that specializes in natural hair. I relied on all the positive reviews. I honestly, had a TERRIBLE experience. Moraa doesn't twist hair and that is a serious problem. Her "alternative" technique is more like making slip knots, it creates knots in your hair that affect future retwisting and has made my consequent retwists far more difficult. She also took about 3 times as long as I usually do, retwisting and washing my hair. And the cost, was just astronomical. She charges for the time that she spends on her clients, but it is as slow as it is because of her inefficient approach to handling locks. Stay away from this woman!!! She's very nice and I don't mean to ruin her business but what she did to my hair was AWEFUL and the only thing worse than that is that I had to pay for her to mess up my natural locks.. read more
