Been here twice, each time with a Groupon for haircut, shampoo, style with hot oil treatment. First time I went was the first time I had ever cut my long curly hair short and my stylist was great. She layered it nicely and gave it the right volume so that it even looked good when it was dry and natural (something hard for curly hair). I loved my experience and a year later I went back with the same Groupon, this time a friend of mine who wasn't getting her hair done was with me. The normal stylist wasn't available so Tina, the owner, did my hair. Again it was great! My friend loved my hair so much that she spontaneously decided to get hers done. Tina was so kind and gave my friend the Groupon price, despite her not having one. (this is normally an $80 ish cut!) Love it, when I'm not a struggling student anymore I'll come back and pay full price. read more

Disclaimer: this review is specific for the hair dresser named Viet (hairbyviet) only, as I haven't had experience with others in the salon but likely won't trust the standard of the salon's hairstylists anymore. I had a very unpleasant experience with Viet for a balayage session. Before the session I had messaged him to make sure he's comfortable with doing dimensions of blonde on black hair, as I wanted something easier to grow out and maintain. He said yes very confidently. I had some doubts as I didn't see many examples on his Instagram page. He spent almost 6 hours on my hair, and it turned out looking like box dye. Full head of brown instead. After I communicated my dissatisfaction with the result, he refused to fix it at a later date unless I pay full price for the terrible result I got from him. He said it was miscommunication from me as he heard me saying "ashy brown" instead of "ashy blonde" even though I have repeatedly said bright summer blonde colors and showed him pictures with messages stating what I wanted. My piece of advice for whoever chooses him: he's good for haircut and full head of basic color dye (brown, dark colors). Don't go to him for anything fancy. Waste of money. read more

Was looking for a local salon for a blowout and decided to try this place after reading reviews online. They had appointments available on short notice. Once you book on the phone you get a text message reminder. Salon is nice and modern and had ample hair stations but only 2 hair stylists were working. Fairly quiet for a weekday. I had Tina and she was great with the wash and styling. The head massage was nice during the shampoo. She used a flat iron to curl the hair and she was done in a flash. I did think she should have used a real curling to curl the hair but I decided to go with this method to go it a try. She met my expectations for a curl style and didn't over use products. I did feel I needed to maintain the look later on In the day with more hairspray. The style lasted one day. Overall great salon for wash and style in the area. read more

I came in for a more elegant look for the evening and Tina did another fantastic job! This time I got waves in my hair. I love the shine from the highlights in my hair. Light weight and bouncy, no heavy hairspray. Again, I got so many compliments!!! read more

I have come twice for cuts. Tina did an amazing cut for an angled lob. She knew exactly what she was doing and was quick and efficient. I loved the cut. I recently came and was disappointed. I arrived on time for my appt, but 10 minutes standing in the freezing cold (-3 weather), I had to go to the coffee shop on the block because I was unsure if the person was still coming or not. They send text messages to confirm your appt and you reply Y or N, so I had the date and time right, but I had not received any call. I scrambled to get the contact info for Tina (owner) to find out if the stylist was coming or forgot or what. She called me back and said the stylist was running late and would be here in a few mins, which would be 30 mins late. If I didn't call, I doubt anyone was calling me to advise of the situation and I would have just left and wasted my time. The stylist did apologize and was sincere. I get that life happens, but a text or call would have been appreciated. The cut was average and she took extra time styling at the end to try to make up for the tardiness. There was a lady waiting a whole hour for a different stylist and in the end left because her stylist must have forgotten. I felt bad for her because she said she came from Langley! I would not have waited more than 30 mins. read more

I went in for a second time to get an eyebrow wax and it was awful. The lady did not seem to know what she was doing at all, putting wax all on top of my eyebrows and then ripping it off in one go, not sections. Thinnest, worst eyebrows I have ever had done. Such a shame. read more

Bought a Goupon, and I was looking forward to a great cut. I do not recall the girls name but she basically shredded my hair in a bunch of uneven wayward strands. Not really paying attention to what she was doing. I did not feel inclined to tip and I could not wait to get out of there. I was not impressed with this person, but others around me appeared to be having great service, so the salon may be good for some, just not me. read more

Went for eyebrow, upper lip and regular bikini wax. I called Beaute for the appointment and was sent upstairs to Maria. She was getting her own color done so her hair was full of color product, very unprofessional but that wasn't the problem. I don't know what she used on my upper lip but she caused bruising and now I have big scabs on my upper lip and look like I have been in a fight. I've had waxing on my upper lip lip many times and never reacted like this. read more

I got my hair done here on the weekend for the first time. I didn't really know what colour I wanted to do my hair but I know I wanted to get rid of the ombre colour I had. I left it up to my stylist Tina to do what ever colour she wanted. The colour she did in my hair was amazing. It's the best colour I have ever had. My hair is black and it's really hard to do blonde high lights right without getting reddish tones in it, but she did it. I love my hair cut and colour!! Definitely coming back read more

Came in for a haircut with Tina. The salon was clean and bright. The receptionist was prompt to greet me and offered a glass of water. I sat down and consulted with Tina about my hair; I wanted to cut off three inches and freshen up my layers. My goal was to have height at the root, longer, side-swept bangs and layers around my crown. My hair is straight and I spend a lot of effort making it look voluminous and wavy. I showed Tina a picture of what I was looking for and pointed at how long I wanted my length to be. We agreed on the specifics and she immediately had me stand up, turned me around, gathered my hair at the nape of my neck, took a pair of shears and cut off almost four inches from the bottom in one fell swoop. Then she handed me the hair and showed me the way to the washing station. I was trying to process what had just happened... The shampoo and hair massage was nice. Tina offered a complimentary conditioning mask. Back to the chair we went where my glass of water and some hand lotion was waiting for me; nice touch. The haircut was quick and Tina worked efficiently. She dry-cut the layers and then put some product in before finishing off with a curling iron. By then my hair was even shorter. Here's my issue: I'm not a fan of the cut. Firstly, it was too short. Could that have had something to do with the fact that she, seemingly, recklessly just cut too much hair off before the appointment even started? Secondly, the layers around my crown are too long which weighs everything down. I had specified I wanted height and volume at the roots. I was expecting interior layers and volumizing mousse or some other product to give my flat hair the help it needed to look fuller. Instead, I had flat roots and Shirley Temple curls near the bottom. I walked out of the salon looking like an aged Soccer Mom (nothing against Soccer Moms! I'm just not one!). Once home and into day 2 and 3, my regular styling products and tools still didn't achieve the look I wanted... the way my bangs are cut make it very difficult to look like soft, face-framing bangs. They're too short and they were cut in such a way that they fall forward and flat on my forehead. It takes mousse, upside-down blow drying, and dry shampoo on day 2 and 3 to get any lift. I believe a good stylist can cut hair so that it works for you, not against you. I've had better haircuts. This is one I know I'll have to grow out and start again. I probably will not come back. Tina was very professional and pleasant throughout the appointment. She graciously offered a 10% discount on hair products and a gift certificate for me to come back and get my nails done. The salon was clean and bright, all staff were pleasant. However, I came here for a hairstyle and unfortunately, this stylist did not deliver. read more

Went here for a mani+ped and cut and colour. Felt the shellac mani and pedi was a bit rushed. Managed to get it done in 1 hour for both, but it looked fantastic. Can't fault the colour. I suppose if you're expecting a quiet relaxing mani+pedi this isn't the place but great if you need to be out the door fast. Lisa was great in recommending different nail art design but her English is limited, so having samples on my phone helped to narrow down what I wanted done. Tina did my cut and colour... love the vibrant red that she suggested. I was worried that it would be too much on my black hair so she used it sparingly. Now in hindsight I should have asked her to do the whole head (which I will do for next time. Otherwise nice place, nice decor, clean. They offer juice, coffee, tea, so the service was attentive enough. But it got a bit noisy with after work crowd around the 4-5 time. Felt like it was a big party. read more

I had a full head of highlights, cut and blow dry with stylist Jerrica Dihn. It was my first time seeing her and I am very happy with the result as it looks quite natural. Jerrica is down to earth, direct and can make great suggestions if you are not sure exactly what you would like, but she will always check to make sure you are happy before going ahead. I purchased 2 different groupons for a haircut with two different stylists from here and had to cancel both. One of them tells me theres an extra 10$ for long hair and also that she is moving salons and locations. The second one tells me she is only available 3 weekdays 10-4...which is literally during a regular persons work hours. Soooo for the future, they should ensure all important information that would impact a person's choice to purchase is listed on the site. read more

The service was horrible, some of the stylists were nice and friendly but one named Mona was not good at all. Highly recommend against getting anything done by her, she is out of focus and always dazed like she is high or something. Anyways I am so disappointed, bad hair day! read more

I got a hair cut here a few months ago and I wasn't pleased with. Tina isn't very good with customer service, at least with me she isn't. She did a haircut that wasn't what I wanted. Then I was charged a whopping $65 just for a cut. I was mad when i left, but happy because its the last time Im coming here. read more

Went to Simon a few times. Sometimes he was professional and attentive, other times distracted and talking more to others around the salon. Great blowdry. Cut one time was fabulous, other time more of a trim with my hair left damp. Highlights are no where near the scalp, I had to go for a root touch up a week later. For the price ($200) I expected better. No problems with front desk staff or bookings. read more

I was expecting a great haircut from Joji, given her reputation. Checked out the price range for the salon before the appointment and was expecting to pay $65 or less for a cut. I was totally gob smacked when she asked for $80 cash. She somehow failed to mention the "cash only" at the time of booking. Its a good thing (for her) that my bank is across the street. If I had had to go further, she would have either had to accept my credit card or wait a day or so to be paid. Not only is she lacking in ethics (I take a dim view of those who cheat on their income tax), she needs to upgrade her texturing skills. I have had better haircuts from Magic Cuts! read more

Worst lash place ever. The glue she used was supposed to be clear but it just dried in crusty visible lumps and to top it off the lashes started falling off the first day. Lost 5 the first day, 4 the second then I stopped counting. The reason I tried this place was because I had a Groupon. Don't go here. read more
