My braider referred me to this spa so I could finally transition from the temporary henna ink to a semi- permanent solution of microblading. I know I'm not included in the typical demographic for this process but wanted to take the leap anyway. I knew the end result would be phenomenal based on my braider's eyebrows but my experience was award-winning. The establishment was comfortable, clean and sanitary! The artist, Magda, was accomodating, creative and communicative. I didn't know which technique to choose but trusted her and the process. I guess it's time for a review! I've been here 3xs now. I started out in 2019 or 2020, and I've kept up with my yearly visits. I've been with the artist Magda for every visit. I found them on IG and booked my appointment online. I started out coming when they were in Oak Brook. I get the ombre shading to my eyebrows. And everyone loves my brows. I wasn't happy with the shape and improper healing session of my brows the 1st session (you need two). I tried to fix it with the girls and they acknowledged that it didn't heal properly and i put the ointment incorrectly, which no one gave me clear instructions for. I tried to work with owner and receptionist but got no where. They were both just very unprofessional and blamed me for the improper healing and look as if i microbladed my own brows. Maybe I did some things wrong and acknowledged it but they never apologized for their issues. What really set it off was when I messaged the owner about how unpleasant her receptionist was and her response was: you already talked to 4 girls about this and we know you're unpleased, would you like a refund? Have someone else do your brows. I've always been a fan of Ombré powder Brows but just never had the courage (and honestly I didn't want to spend that much on them.) I'm a fellow makeup artist so I love doing a full face glam. But now that I'm a mom of two young boys, finding the time to do my makeup, let alone a nice filled in brows is limited. But I was grateful when my husband gifted me for a Mother's Day gift! So of course I wanted to book here. I've been following Dee the owner (beadeespa) from when she started a few years back & always loved her work. I was super excited when I saw her salon had availability in June! They are always busy so I assumed booking would be difficult. But their website was easy to navigate & listed all the qualifications & details needed for this service. I booked with Stacey, who has also done some of my friends brows recently too. Due to a scheduling mix up, my appointment was actually moved up sooner to early June so I got super excited. When I arrived to salon, the space was clean & very well lit & decorated beautifully. I went in & was greeted right away from the other artists who were working on other clients. There was no receptionist (probably because it was a Sunday) but I waited in the front til Stacey checked me in. She was thorough & told me how the process would go. Once i was seated at her station, Stacey explained how she was going to map out my ideal brows and make sure we got the right shape. I explained what I wanted, what color I envisioned & showed her pictures of the previous work they've done that I loved. I appreciated how Stacey listened to what I wanted & also collabed on what she recommended for my brows as well. I can tell that Stacey loved doing brows & was very professional so that made my nervousness at ease. She was super easy to talk to & we laughed throughout the session. After she mapped out my brows, I loved the outline we came up with. The mapping of brows took long but I'm grateful that Stacey was very patient & particular to make sure brows were even & exactly what I wanted. The actual process of the outlining and shading was a breeze. Outlining did hurt a little bit (as expected) but once the numbing gel kicked in, shading was fast! Stacey was vocal on every step she was doing & made the whole Process fantastic. I'm so in love with how my brows turned out! It was shaped exactly how I envisioned and I know it'll only get better! I will post a pic for reference. Stacey explained after care & what I needed to do. She gave me ointment to help with the healing & then I paid for my services. I had such a great time with Stacey and left salon very happy. It's only been a week so I know there's still a few more weeks/days to see final look. Definitely went through the unbearable peeling stage but just today (day7) after all the peeling, my brows are looking fantastic again! Can't wait to see once they are fully healed! I booked and paid for an appointment for ombre brows. I showed up for my appointment and was turned away due to a scheduling error. I thought this was unprofessional, but I brushed it off - mistakes happen. I came back a few weeks later and my eyebrows were tattooed by two students during a training session. I was informed the instructors would be monitoring and checking the students' work at every step of the process. The student ended up tattooing an area that the instructor was supposed to do. This resulted in excessive inflammation in the area. Halfway through my appointment, an instructor noticed that one of the students handled instruments without gloves and the numbing agent spilled and mixed with a different material on the tray. They eventually replaced the contaminated materials, but this mishap was very concerning. I am still unsure of the extent of the contamination and mixing of materials. When the appointment was finished, I went to schedule a touch up with a professional artist who might be able to fix whatever the students may have missed. The pricing doubled since my first appointment, from $150 to $300. I asked if they would honor the $150 in good faith due to the initial scheduling error and unsatisfactory experience. My ask was refused. I was referred to the website which states that pricing is subject to change. You get what you pay for - unprofessionalism and a terrible experience. Where do I begin about this fabulous experience?!? Well, I'll start at the end since that is what most want to know about...THE RESULTS. Simply AMAZING! I could not be happier with my new brows. I have been filling them in for 40+ years since I was left with a scar (and missing partial brow) on one. I wanted natural. And I think that is why I was so hesitant for years. And I was a little nervous. I mean a tattoo is somewhat permanent. When I finally decided to find someone, I was so impressed with Dee's approach and rules that she would only do brows that truly made sense and looked good on you. January 2020- I had ombré powder brows done by Magda and loved them. Had a great experience. October 24 2021- I decided to gift my mother new brows and booked an appointment with Magda for Sat Feb 19. December 29 2021- I get a text from Jammy (I assume she is an assistant or secretary?) to inform me that the owner Dee would be holding a training class on the morning of 2/19/22 and gave me the option to reschedule my mom's 10 am appointment to 3 or 5 pm. I chose 3 pm. February 18 2022- (the day before the appointment) I get a text from Jammy at 6:50 am (YES, 6:50 in the morning) to let me know that they decided to reschedule the training class to another day and asked if I'd like to switch back the appointment to 10 am instead of 3 pm. I reached out to my mom, had my husband cancel/reschedule some things and re-planned something for my son. Everything is re-arranged and so I text Jammy back that yes, we'll switch back to 10 am. Not even 3 hours later, she texts me again to ask me to switch back to 3 pm because Magda has a family matter. I told her that while I understand family issues since I have a family myself, no, I could not reschedule again because by then I had re-arranged the day already. I'm not going to keep inconveniencing my loved ones because the company can't organize themselves. I was so frustrated by then that I decided to cancel altogether, especially since they couldn't fit in another appointment with Magda until April 21st on a week day when my mom is working. I was so put off. These recent encounters left a bad taste and I found the most recent encounters very unprofessional. A business should not be texting anyone at 6:50 am. I also have a feeling that no one had checked with Magda about rescheduling before asking me to reschedule; that would be lack of communication and disorganization. While these experiences are no reflection of Magda's beautiful work, it is a reflection of the business. I'm very disappointed and have decided to take my business elsewhere which is again very unfortunate given that they do great brow work. read more

I hate writing this review, because I had been stalking Dee's beautiful work for years and admire how talented she is and how hard she works. But I was disappointed with my training experience. Though I was happy to learn her technique, the course was rushed, lacked detail--how to even properly draw an eyebrow, muscle pulls--and felt more like a cash grab for her vs. a genuine opportunity for learning, growth, and connection. I kid you not, I've learned more from YouTube for free than I did paying $3,500. Thankfully I educated myself on ombre brow basics ahead of time, because if I had simply relied on her teaching and scant manual, there would be major gaps in my learning. Plus, she didn't ask anyone their names or ask about their backgrounds, which felt cold. Model day was chaotic. Considering that we had just learned how to turn on our machines the day before, it would've been better if the music had been quieter while students were tattooing clients' faces. But one thing I will say is that $3,500 did get me a model to work on, albeit with another student. That's something YouTube can't provide. Lastly, the machine she provides...just so disappointing. I have a very hard time believing that Dee uses a cheaply made, private-label machine with needles that fall apart if you blink and charges $950+ for her service. She says it's her go-to pen, but I'm thinking she only uses it in training because she sells it on her website. Overall, this experience was a let-down, as much as I tried to focus on the positive. Yes, I got some good out of it. I did get a certificate to hang in my suite, which is more comforting to clients than just saying I'm self-taught. And Dee's technique is amazing. But I've seen artists on IG who go into A LOT more detail and provide better machines and more robust kits for less. I regret that I didn't go to one of them, but it was only because I'd found them too late. It's obvious that those artists have the heart of a teacher and care more about their students' education and success, while Dee is focused on her money. I first found Dee on Instagram and have been researching micro-blading over a couple months. I have always had very light and short stubby eyebrows. I would always have to draw them in and if I didn't drew them in, sometimes it would look like I had no eyebrows! I realized that a friend also had hers done from BeauDeeSpa from her Instagram photos and asked her about her experience. She highly recommended it and I reached out to Dee on Instagram. She emailed me details after I made an appointment, and was very thorough in the email about what I should be expecting day of the appointment. It's been almost two weeks since I had ombré brows done by PMU Magda. I'm exceptionally pleased. I know they are still in the healing process, but I've been amazed at how natural they look. I have received lots of compliments as well (unsolicited!). I'm also African-American, and was concerned about the right color match being chosen for me as well as color application. I looked at Magda's work on Instagram and saw that she had clients from all ethnic backgrounds, and did a beautiful job on each one. I highly recommend her. The location was also nice and clean as well. I felt very comfortable throughout the process. My eyebrows look great now at almost 14 days. I'm disappointed to say that I do not recommend this business. Not for the brow services nor for the brow training. Long story short, took the $3500 mediocre class that I learned more on YouTube to find out that the master artist, Dee, isn't even a licensed permanent make up educator which is unlawful in the state of Illinois! I'm ashamed to say that Dee has also botched my brows (off centered, crooked, uneven. I had to pay for multiple touch ups for her to fix them. When she couldn't fix them, she offered to "pay" her junior artist to remove it for me bc I shouldn't trust any other artist to do it. When I asked for her jr artist's work with removals, her response was she just learned so she doesn't have any pics. So I shouldn't trust any other artists but I should trust your jr artist who has no experience in removals?!) Refunds and guarantees are not existent here. They just take your money. They don't care if you're happy with your results or services. (Let it be known, you're letting them tattoo your face! Students literally have about 6 hours of "lecture" and 1 hour of self practice before tattooing a model!) Dee and her business have destroyed my confidence. This business has been reported. BEWARE!!! I have to give this an awful review with proof. I reached out to Dee regarding ombré powder brows. I was recommended to her by a friend. I asked her simple questions as, how much and her certifications. I think these are completely normal questions. She came back with she has "16 certifications" and then more information about the powder brows which I appreciated. I proceeded to ask her what her certifications were. Then she sends me a picture of only 7 pictures from a far. I am unable to read any of the certifications. I asked her then to please just tell me where she got certified/and or school she went too since the picture sending did not work. I think it's only fair to know since someone is going to be taking a blade to my face to know the persons background/experience. I want to make sure my artist is certified. I have no idea from that picture if those are even certifications for microblading. It was all very fishy. Also, she told me the earliest availability was March 8th which I told her I would take but in final email as shown blow it changes to May. She would get back to me normally the same day. Then when I asked her for details on her certifications she went MIA. I sent her 3 emails in that span just because I wasn't sure if she received them. Also, because I wanted to schedule for March 8th. Also, I was super nice and understanding in all my emails. I was giving up on the last one. She then emailed back after almost a week saying "Hi, sorry about the lack of response but we get many inquiries in a day and have been backed up with emails for a while. We are currently booked until May, what is your schedule like? We are certified, licensed, and insured. First, she told me March 8th was available (shown in the email) and I told her I would take it and it's HER fault she replied to me so late. Soo clearly she did not want me as a client because I asked for her certifications... I was never unsure about her certifications I asked a simple question as what are they. Dee has still never told me or showed till this day. Please please people do your research! I'm not sure if this "artist" is even truly certified yet alone having "16 certification" I have all emails to prove it. This is terrible business !!! I am so glad I asked and dodged a bullet before a person off the street did my eyebrows that is truly not even certified because that's what it seems like to me since she could not tell me and got so defensive. If you have nothing to hide you tell a person. My friend was so shocked who went to Dee previously and wish she did research. She will not be returning! You are running a business and if you are certified it should not be a problem telling someone your certification. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Super ridiculous as well you have to do EVERYTHING through an email when a call would have been much more simple. read more

Several years ago I had my eyebrows microbladed by a student at a school that teaches permanent makeup artistry. I thought it would be a good idea to save some money and be a "live model". Long story short, the student messed up my eyebrows and even the instructor couldn't fix it to the way I like. She's so personable, talented and passionate about her craft!
