I took the 6 month certification program on Saturdays and I can honestly say this class changed my life. Last year I had no idea how to make a song in Ableton and now I feel like I have endless possibilities and potential for creativity. Making music is now an exciting process that I feel confident doing. This class goes deeper, though, than just music theory and Ableton tutorials. The instructors talk about how to brand yourself, the ins and outs of the music industry, how to work with other artists, how to get noticed, how to develop a community of fans, and more. This is a comprehensive class that will have you in a new community of creative minds just as passionate as you are about music. Another great feature of this school is as an alumni, you still get contacted about networking opportunities. When you graduate, you become apart of the Beat Lab family for life and I couldn't be more grateful for Yeuda for the creation of this space! read more

Looks like this place is closed. I wanted to buy a beat maker course but Web site is down , phone is silent!

I am trying to get support. NO one answers the phone. Constant busy signal. Website is down. I cannot access the modules I paid for in 2020. I was told I would be able to access them forever. Did the company go out of business? read more

I am an industry professional in audio, and I took the Beat Lab course in mixing and mastering to improve my Ableton skills, and glean any knowledge of modern techniques in music production. I thought overall, the class was good for the price, and the knowledge base was good, but there are a lot of great on-line courses that do the same thing and I recommend shopping around. I have two issues with the company. 1. There was not one consistent teacher throughout the course, which often meant we were retreading over old ground from the previous session. 2. Once the course was done, I had problems getting anyone to respond to emails I sent asking for more advice. Not one response with multiple emails, which means that their after-sales service is severely lacking. It felt like a take-the-money-and-run situation. read more

Beat Lab = Disneyland combined with the Grand Canyon of music learning, loving and smelling. It's a playground for geniuses and babies. Yeuda + Larry + Freddy, are an intimate family team. Yeuda created this school. It's rare to have someone who's gifted at both: making music and teaching music. Completely different things. He's crazy at both, and that combination shines through in spectacular ways. His lessons are simple, powerful, and unique. And his music writing ability is so tasty. Stop by! Grab some stickers, eat some candy, play with toys, talk about music. Thank God for Beat Lab! read more

I can never get in contact with anyone and I can't even get back into my profile for the last few weeks. I've tried reaching out on questions about projects for over a year and never received any replies. I learned a lot taking the course when I first started, but I realize that I'm never going to get the certificate and I'm never going to get feedback about the things I've submitted. The thousand dollars I spent could've just went to a regular school. read more

I've tried out a few music programs, and even one that has very well known brand in the industry. BeatLab is by far my favorite because it was exactly the type of culture I was looking for: 1) The a-la-carte type structure was perfect. There is no requirement that you have to go through an entire year's worth of curriculum before you can actually take classes that you're most interested in. I unfortunately did not get to take any of the classes that would have most helped me in my previous program because they were scheduled at the end of the year. In order to get there, I would have had to have paid a SIGNIFICANT amount of money each month before I got any technical use out of that program. You don't have that issue at BeatLab. 2) The program managers + instructors are great. Jesse taught the sound design master course and he's a very engaging lecturer. You will definitely learn a lot from him whether you're a beginner or an intermediate in sound design. I had come in to the course with about half a year of involved sound design experience and it was still very useful. 3) Yeuda deserves his own bullet point. This man is a legend. An incredible help all the way. He also runs a hang-out session (virtual during quarantine) on most Sundays and this is a great time to: (a) get feedback on tracks; (b) ask questions about various techniques, plugins, etc (the man knows his stuff); (c) connect with other members in the BeatLab community 4) Liliana is the BeatLab Blog Editor and out of all my experiences with music schools so far, this is the first one that has actually made an explicit effort to let its alumni know they are there to help. The artist/music producer path is a difficult one and this kind of community effort goes a long way. TLDR: Great community. Amazing instructors. No strings attached a-la-carte courses. Constant engagement. Absolutely in budget relative to other overpriced programs. read more

My experience with Beat Lab Academy has been nothing short of incredible. The owner and head instructor, Yeuda Ben-Atar is one of the most talented and inspirational musicians I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. Not only did he provide in-depth production knowledge but also extremely valuable mentorship outside of the classroom. My skills and artistry developed enormously under his guidance. Beat Lab Academy has provided me with all the tools necessary to take my career to the next level. For that, I am eternally grateful. read more

I'm extremely happy to have taken courses at Beat Lab Academy. I've visited, and done courses at other schools in LA, but Beat Lab stands out not only for the quality of the teachers (led by Ableton Certified expert instructor Yeuda, the founder of the school, and Mark Parvizi, co-founder of Team Supreme), but also for the genuine care they show, for the student community that they have built. Yeuda is truly inspirational as the school's founder. His passion for, and skill in teaching, is immediately felt upon meeting him. Watching him navigate the Ableton environment with speed and ease, to create almost any sound you can imagine, while explaining his motions with flawless and incisive clarity, is breathtaking. The Beat Lab front-office team (Larry, Freddy, and Mikey) is friendly and approachable, and have been instrumental in creating an environment that is incredibly positive, interactive and supportive. The course material is efficiently structured, logically sequenced, very interactive, and delivered in a way that encourages students to push the limits of their creativity, as well as adopt the technical aspects of Ableton in way that is highly applicable to professional work and live performance. There is a wealth of student events (also providing students with opportunities to perform), and workshops from industry experts. The school itself is an excellent facility, with both studio space and live instruments available for students to use as they need. The curriculum is also always evolving and adapting to the needs of students and the industry, with additional interesting and valuable courses having been added over time as the need has arisen, and more courses being added in the near future. I feel blessed to have found this school. I have gained so much from coming here. I am extremely thankful to Yeuda and the Beat Lab team for their role in helping me improve my music production ability, to a much higher standard, more quickly than I could have envisaged. If you have any interest at all in learning or furthering your abilities in music production, whatever level you are at, whatever aspect of it you want to work on, I highly recommend Beat Lab Academy. Visit, meet the team, check it out, and see for your self! read more

I'm not the greatest with words but here goes. BeatLab's really the best "school" I've been to. I put school in quotes because it doesn't even feel like it. Yes you learn a ton (Mastering Ableton, Mixing, Songwriting, Theory, Sound Design, etc) and just how to make good music in general. But it really feels like a family here. Everyone here has ambition & drive and it's constantly super inspiring. Every time i walk in here i instantly wanna pop open my laptop and get to work. And when I'm feeling down on my music or feeling demotivated in general, I know there's my homies here are BeatLab willing to help/collaborate/hear my frustrations. And I always try to be there for my friends when they're going through that slump too (which will inevitably happen from time to time). What I'm trying to say is it's really a special place here, the community here is just the best. And don't even get me started about the instructors here. I could write another 5 paragraphs on that haha. Just come sit in on one of the classes and you'll see :) read more

I took the 6-month music producer certification course in person and I went from not being able to make a song and not understanding music theory to now producing full tracks, leveraging music theory, and developing my own music style along the way. Not only is the community here amazing, but the teachers know how to explain the material, have industry experience, and truly care about the students. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Beat Lab Academy. I completed the certification program here and have been producing seriously for 1 year. This school is for anyone looking to substantially excel in music production whether you're a complete beginner or an Ableton master. This place is way more then a school, it is a musical lifeline seriously. Yueda is an Ableton wizard and knows the program inside and out. Larry is the bomb! He keeps you updated on basically EVERYTHING that is advantageous toward your career even after you become a graduate. That's what makes Beat Lab different from other programs in the area. They actually care what goes on in your career during and after you leave them and they're so eager to help you go further anyway they can. BeatLab is a very positive and uplifting space. I had attended and completed two different production schools in the LA area and by far Beat Lab had the most organized well thought out curriculum. From music theory to sound design to rhythm to artist development, even composition they cover it all. Beat Lab will make sure you have the tools you need to become a successful artist. I cannot give them enough recommendations! Check them out! You'll wish you found them sooner like I did! read more

If your looking to learn a lot about electronic music production & music in general in a short amount of time. Then Beat Lab Academy might be for you!! Yeuda is an amazing teacher & Beat Lab also hosts a slew of other amazingly talented & Artist/teachers that are constantly touring & breaking the boundaries of creating music with midi & hardware. I myself have been a DJ in the electronic scene since 2001 & felt it was time to take my own production more seriously. I met them through Instagram & after a short courtship, did a drop in class & signed up 2 weeks later! Best thing i did for myself in the past 3 years. Their knowledge of Ableton & the interworking of VST's is invaluable. I'm still learning things even after i graduated from their program. Very small class sizes make sure that each student get's their questions answered & talent concerns alleviated & benefitted in a short amount of time. I wish i was in class year round to learn with Yeuda & the other teachers. It was more then just gaining a new teacher & going to school. It has been an invigorating experience of broadening my horizons & making many new friends & connections. I've even gotten gigs from connections i made here. I highly suggest you do a drop in class & checkout what your missing! Shout out to Larry!!! read more

Where do I begin? The running joke among my friends is how long will it take me when I meet a new person to start talking about Beat Lab. So, apologies to my friends, but I talk about it a lot. I took the semester class (levels 1, 2, and 3) and couldn't be more pleased with with the experience. Yeuda, the teacher/co-founder is THE MAN. He knows everything about Ableton and has a way of explaining things that makes complex topics seem simple. Larry (the other co-founder) and Yeuda are always there to help. When I'm at home working on a project and get stuck, I can shoot Yeuda an email, call them up, or pop by get some help. Larry even met me there on a Saturday to let me do some vox recording. They really go above and beyond. Also, when you join Beat Lab you're not just another student, but part of the fam. The community is so supportive, inspiring, and FUN! Larry keeps folks in the loop about what's going on around town, and who has shows. People are always making some sick beats, sharing good grooves and tips, and looking to collab. Also, also, last thing I'll say is that it's great for all levels. I was totally new to Ableton and others had been doing it for five years, but we all learned a ton. Beat Lab is the s**t, and if you want to ask questions to a former student, feel free to shoot me a message. read more

I recently moved to LA a little less than a year ago.. I had been Doing for a while and was looking to transition to music production.. I knew that if I wanted to really become a good producer, I'd have to go to a school/program/academy that trained me to be better than the average Joe. After countless hours of research I decided to pick BeatLab. I have to say, it was one of the decisions I've made. I was introduced to like-minded individuals who had a common goal, from all different backgrounds. Both in the classroom and outside of the classroom me and my peers challenged each other, helped, and supported each other. Larry, Yeuda, Mike, and Freddy are all incredible. Not only helpful, but they really care about your development as music producers. I would recommend anyone and everyone to give BeatLab a shot if you want to better your overall musicianship. read more

I took the 3 levels course of Ableton Live and I could say that these guys Rock. everybody from the office to the instructors. They are amazing. They truly care about your learning curve and they show you all the tricks and differents ways to approach the Music production. They always make all kind of workshop and they are always trying to improve the classes with the best in the music industry. I recommend them if you are looking for a great Ableton instructor for me Yeuda and Mike are the best. read more

I was not treated like family like everybody else that has written a review. Don't get me wrong the teachers have an fair understanding of the digital audio workspace they teach but it seemed to me in my two courses that they didn't really know much about the music industry. Truthfully all the instructors are not professional artists like you would get at a real school. I love Mikey Weiner and Larry though shout out to them but I really wasn't overly impressed with any of their credentials. Oh and also be prepared for Yeuda's thick Israeli accent. read more

Beat Lab Academy is a super well-rounded music production school that equips you with the necessary tools to not only learn the ins and outs of using Ableton, but also how to apply the program in a performance setting, and easily grasp onto music theory tricks and techniques that honestly, in the long run take your production skills to the next level. Really cool that they offer the option to take 3 levels one at a time or all together, and prices were super reasonable given the amount of things you learn throughout this experience. I highly recommend tho, taking all 3 levels as each has extremely helpful tools/materials that you will constantly use once you graduate. Yeuda - head of education and founder of Beat Lab is for sure the spirit of this academy. Hands down one of the brightest, most passionate, but also genuine professors you will encounter. Knows absurd amounts of things about Ableton, music theory, the music industry etc, and was always an open book for his students. Being part of this academy felt like having an extended family. This place was the first instance where I showed my original music/work to people and it felt safe, nurturing, but also demanding of you doing your best as an artist. Come here and be ready for your expectations to be surpassed!! You won't regret it!! read more

I've been making music for a long time and I figured there is nothing left to learn, boy was I wrong! The amount of cool new tricks and production techniques I learned are amazing! Our teacher told us we would all be Ableton experts by the end of the course and he was right! I love this program and I'm hoping Beatlab will offer more cool courses in the future! I had a blast! Highly recommended! read more

I went to Beat Lab because I felt like I was spending all my time watching endless online tutorials instead of creating. The intensive program provided a space to ask questions whenever I came upon a road block with the software, or with production in general. Being surrounded by teachers who use Ableton professionally, as well as other students eager and willing to take their skills to the next level, gave me the push and confidence I needed to take my craft seriously. I think one of the most exciting things right now is watching other students I graduated with making moves and releasing projects, even those who were beginners when we started. You will get out whatever you put in at Beat Lab, so come ready and willing to put in the time and you'll amaze yourself. #beatlabfamforlife :D read more

The low pretense, highly knowledgeable staff makes this Ableton-based institution a no-brainer. Was at a crossroads point in my life wether to continue learning music production on ableton via youtube videos and online tutorials or make the decision to go to school again.. I can honestly say that the Beat Lab Academy has speeded up my production game so fast that if I had decided to keep learning online it would have taken me years to get to my level of understanding music production today. Not only was the class useful for learning Ableton but also learning music theory in general. Yeuda is the illest teacher around and breaks everything down so simple till you get it.. and shoutout to Larry for being the illest Beat Lab Rep as well. read more

Finished their 16-week Beat Lab Certification Program online back in Dec '16. It was great to have an online instructor that was well versed in Ableton Live, music theory, and one that also works in the music business. Definitely, a place to go and you'll always have a family there. read more

I can't speak highly enough about Beat Lab!!!! I never made a beat in my life before I started the certification program, but with the help of beatlab, I dove right in! I ended up finishing the entire course and couldn't be happier with the progress I made! Yeuda, Mike, Freddy and the entire staff are beyond the best! They all have the rare gift of being able to make dope, progressive music and also teach their methods to beginners and pros alike! The kicker is, the support of the beat lab community continues long after the courses are over as well! I feel like I made lifelong friends and colleagues through my experience here! If I could give beatlab one hundred stars, I would! I'm not even kidding! read more

From the start of the program to the end, Beat Lab was one of the best educational opportunities that I've been apart of. Yeuda, Larry, Mike and all the other Beat Lab teachers are phenomenal! Beat Lab is way more than a music production school. It is a community of musicians that pushed me to elevate my craft. Yes, Beat Lab instructors helped me to become a more skilled producer. But even more important than that was the support I got from the entire Beat Lab staff and family. There is something incredibly valuable about being in a community that views me as an artist. The entire experience has been incredibly empowering in ways I hadn't even guessed. I love that it hasn't ended. I am still part of Beat Lab even after finishing my classes. That kind of music community is very rare and very powerful. read more

Beat Lab Academy is one of the best schools I've ever attended for music production and composition! Yeuda, the founder and head instructor, is an Ableton Certified Trainer. He is a generous, passionate, and motivating teacher. He presents music production techniques and concepts in a way that is fun and interactive. The types of assignments we do in his class allow us to explore and execute musical ideas while learning new ways to make our production sound better. Yeuda, Larry, and the Beat Lab family also provide a great environment and community for artists. A lot of us Beat Lab graduates continue to attend Beat Lab events and workshops, as well as keep in touch with each other, supporting each other's music. read more

I can't thank BeatLab enough for everything they have done, they go above and beyond their curriculum and it honestly changed the game for me. The teachers, jam sessions, class collaborations, and the students were amazing and it was an honor to be apart of the first graduating class. I have nothing but great things to say about Beat Lab Academy. I am now finishing up a 4 month, 3 level course and I must say I am very very happy with the outcome. Yeuda Ben-Atar (the founder and head instructor) is an Ableton Genius... no joke. The man knows everything and I mean everything. If you have any type of question about Ableton or music production he has an answer and usually he has multiple answers to your one question. He makes it fun and easy to learn. I went into Ableton, I did not know too much, I took an intro Ableton online class before enrolling into B.L. My first two weeks I learned more then I could ever imagine and I was making beats right off the bat. Today, I feel highly confident and my knowledge of Ableton is top notch, I basically learned another language and I owe it all to B.L. There are also guest instructors that teach throughout the course and they are ALL amazing as well. Also, B.L. gets the best artists to do workshops on the weekend, free to the public btw(just sign up to there newsletter online). The courses cover everything from music theory to mixing and mastering. In multiple classes the desks are arranged in a circle and then everyone gets to jam out in class jam, it is pretty awesome, no other school does anything like this. Whether you are a trained musician or not, everyone has a blast in the jam and learns. I could go on and on, but I highly recommend B.L. If you are unsure, they allow you to sit in a class for free and see for yourself. You be the judge, but I tell you - if you want to take your music production to the next level, no matter what skill level you are- this is your school and Yeuda Ben-Atar is your man! read more

Most current music school around! Great instructor, awesome workshops and great vibes!

I found Beat Lab on Yelp and since then have enrolled and finished level 1. Beat Lab turned out to be everything I read it was in the reviews and more. I'm beyond happy with my investment and already see it paying off. Something I really like about their class schedule is that if you miss one of your classes or feel like you need a refresher you can take the class again that same week. So if you are signed up for Monday and Wednesday you can take the Thursday/Friday classes. You can also go into class early for a study hall time. I built relationships with my peers and now have some projects with them since I am mainly a vocalist. Level one goes over music theory. It is a lot of information in a short amount of time but you can access the classes online. Most of them are recorded!! Yeuda also does private tutoring with everyone in the class..... And I've even recorded there with some other students. They do workshops on the weekends. My favorite was the womens workshop with DOT from Team Supreme. I LOVE IT THERE!!!!!!!!!! Love you Beat Lab! xo Ady @musicbyADY read more

I believe the technical ability to make music and a strong collaborative spirit are the two most important things that any school can provide to an aspiring musician, and this is exactly where Beatlab thrives. The 4 months I spent taking their Ableton course was one of the most productive and developmental periods of my career. As someone who had some music production experience going into the course, I can personally attest to the fact that this program will help any musician at ANY level of expertise get closer to reaching their potential. The genius and industry experience provided by Yeuda and the rest of the teaching staff, along with the ongoing opportunity to make music with like-minded individuals has granted me newfound inspiration as a creator. Beatlab has my highest possible recommendation. read more

I'm just finishing up all 3 courses at Beat Lab Academy. When I started I considered myself a novice musician with experience in guitar and some light keyboards. If you're reading this then maybe you are in a position like I was. I heard great things about Ableton Live and Push - I discovered that Beat Lab Academy is an Ableton Certified Training Center and that it's lead instructor and owner Yeuda Ben-Atar is an Ableton Certified Trainer. I reached out to Larry, the Lab Rat, and sat in on some classes taught by Yeuda. I was immediately blown away by the supreme talent of Yeuda and his real-world training on Ableton. This alone was enough for me to get into the classes. I did this because I wanted to obtain mastery of Ableton Live. Your time is valuable, how much time are you wasting trying to sift through YouTube videos? Get in a classroom and get proper training from music theory to mastering by one of the best instructors. Be in an environment with other amazing teachers like Mike Parvizi of Team Extreme, Thavius Beck and others. Your development as an artist only gets better when you're surrounded by great teachers and students. This place is it. I'm a proud member of the Beat Lab Family and I hope you will be too. read more

There are two main reasons that I would suggest taking classes at BeatLab Academy. 1st and foremost: if you really want to learn about electronic music production, this is definitely the place to go. Yueda and the rest of the teaching staff really know their stuff!! He knows all the ins and outs of Ableton (which also correlates to other DAWs). Even if you have the vaguest of ideas in your head, the teaching staff will direct you into bringing those sounds to life. My production abilities have exponentially increased in my time at the school. Moving on, the 2nd reason BeatLab is the place to be, is because you are truly surrounded by an amazing group of producers. By the end of the class, you have a new family in this music production world which i find to be crucial to development and success in this field. Yueda makes sure everyone that takes this class is serious about music production, which creates a great classroom dynamic as well as a network of musicians and producers who you can collaborate with and bounce ideas of off. In sum, I LOVE BEATLAB!!, and I'm blessed for having the opportunity to have taken classes there. I would 100% recommend this school to anyone interested in taking their music to the next level!!! read more
