They went above and beyond to get my guitar setup exactly how I wanted it. They're very fairly priced as well. A good friend recommended them to me. Since it was my first real project ever I decided to have a professional do the finishing touch, a proper set up to make sure the neck I had installed was on the way it needed to be. I decided to take my work to my local guitar shop. I thought it would be a straight forward process, but I was wrong. The worker here had told me that my guitar needed sanding down and even this would probably not work. I was quoted a large amount of money. It was even implied that my guitar might not even be functional despite all this. My review on this place is a separate issue so the last thing I will say about this place is that I took my guitar back heartbroken and not knowing where to go from there. I am lucky enough to work with a lot of great musicians and came to a friend of mine with my issue. He immediately recommended Grayson's Tune Town, told me to ask for Erik specifically. He gave me Erik's information and that same evening I contacted him and explained my situation. The only downside was that Greyson's is about a fifty minute drive for me with no traffic. Taking traffic into consideration it becomes an easy hour and a half. I sent pictures to Erik and he tried to diagnose as best he could without me coming in to the location. We set up a meet and it was on. I drove an hour and a half and to my pleasure this shop is beautiful. The staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating. Erik finally took a look at my guitar in person and said that everything looked perfect. I was cautiously optimistic at first, given what I had been told days prior by the first shop. I left my guitars (I had decided to take another guitar for a set up) and was told it would take about two weeks to complete the work. Two weeks might seem like a lot, but Erik was just coming back from some time off and he was catching up on some orders. He told me it is normally a week turn around. During my waiting period I was in contact with Erik every couple of days to check on any possible issues. He was so incredibly patient with my messaging him and promptly responded each time. I even sometimes felt bad messaging him with questions, but he never once made me feel like I was bothering him. The two weeks were up and him and I set up our final meet. I drove another hour and a half to pick up my guitars. Erik even met me earlier than planned because I had an appointment to make later that day back home. You ever hear the phrase "You get what you pay for"? Well, the level of service I got from Grayson's and Erik went far beyond that. Considering the first shop quoted me so high with little to no promise of any results, but at Grayson's the quote was less than half of the other place and most importantly the guitars came out PERFECT! Especially my build. While paying for the services I even bought a cool tote bag because I wanted to support them even more. Walking out of there I felt like I had just robbed the place and all they did was smile at me lol. To me it was not even about the money in the first place. The level of professionalism and results are all that matter in the end; the price to me comes second to those. Personally I love my guitars. We all save our hard earned money and purchase these instruments that bring us joy, peace, and for some people they even put food on the table. These instruments are important to so many of us and they deserve the best in our eyes. Grayson's and Erik are the definition of these qualities. suddenly the hour and a half drive was miniscule when looking at the big picture. From now on I will gladly spend that time on the road knowing that my instruments will be serviced at Grayson's. Who doesn't like a good road trip anyways? If you are hesitant about this shop, do not be. The standard has been set incredibly high and I'm all about it. One last time: Thank you Grayson's and thank you Erik.

By design these courses are meant for a group of 4 students. Just wanted to ask about it since the schedule was not up to date. But the person responded very quickly and checked in with the instructor to see when he was available to host one of those courses. Once I heard back I paid to secure my spot. My instructor was Daniel Corral, he was an absolute gem :) he was very patient with me, I have no music experience at all and was fortunate that I was the only student in this class. Daniel gave me a 30 min lesson every week with music sheets and things to work on for the week. I felt really nervous about taking this class since I'm an old lady but he made me feel very comfortable. I can't say I'm amazing now but I understand and feel comfortable learning the ukulele because of Daniel. I highly recommend this studio and I'm sure all the instructors are great!

The lady whose name I…read moreremember as Sue, was very pleasant over the phone and after giving preferred time slots, called me back in a timely manner with a lesson slot with a great musician named Nipun. My daughter's weekly half hour keyboarding lessons were a great deal at $25 for 30 minutes. While we decided to stop due to homework obligations from school, we plan to resume next year hopefully in the spring.

Due to Covid, we've had class oudoors, indoors and on Zoom and it works just fine either way. Although in-person class is my favorite. Genna, our amazing teacher, is a professional musician who plays all over LA. She's friendly and encouraging. Class size is small so there is personal attention. My confidence in my playing is noticeably improved. Now i can pick up a guitar and I'm not totally embarrassed to play in a store or in front of others (thanks to my classmates). My chord transitions are smoother and my rhythm is better. Plus I've learned how to create a solo rift which I didn't even think was possible as a beginner. We play different songs and new skills each session so it doesn't get boring. The people in the class are kind and everyone is in the same boat so don't think you'll be the worst one. We share our bits of knowledge and cheer each other on. So glad I joined and I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons. If you're a shy player or need some structure to practice more, sign up. You'll get a lot out of taking weekly class.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Jared Barkan of Guitar Kung Fu off and on since March 2012…read more Jared is an amazing guitarist, one of the best I've encountered. It is a pleasure to hear him play. And whether he's showing you his Bach (yes, Bach on the guitar!) or you're sampling his Christmas CD,which was so awesome I bought copies for everyone I love, it is clear he is a master musician and talented artist. He also performs locally and I've enjoyed his performance wherein he showcases his own unique style and original tracks that are truly out of this world, fun, energetic, moving and poignant. I've also had him over to record songs for me, backing tracks to help inspire me to learn parts I can play with others and to fill out tracks I create with friends or on my own. And, Jared's talent extends effortlessly into his ability to teach. He breaks down concepts into bite-sized chunks that have helped me to learn whole songs and even perform at a friend's wedding. He's taught me anything I've asked, when I've asked him to. And he's also taught me to read short-hand tab which has been so helpful in learning strumming patters and phrasing. I've put in work to get better, but I wouldn't be where I am in my ability to play - and perform - if it weren't for Jared. If you're interested in learning to play guitar, I highly suggest contacting Jared. He will show you the way.
