I visited the Floyds Knobs Bearno's last night. The service was so so as my pizza came out less than hot and was wrong. The waitress very nice told me that my Mama Bearno's had green olives on it which I had requested to be removed. The pizza looked like I was used to seeing. I was told another correct pizza was being made. It came out and was less than appetizing. Very few toppings and looked like it had been sent through the oven two times. I have included a picture. I was more than disappointed in this pizza. It looked like the kitchen was upset that the pizza that was originally made for me was incorrect and to be honest, I did not ask for the remake. Quick service in the bar, seems to be a locals restaurant. Plenty of people hanging out mid week and they have bar specials daily. French fries were hot and very tasty, very good. Lasagna was okay. but nothing exciting and borderline blah. Pizza sub was tasty and perfect as is, no changes needed. The restaurant side was empty. There is outside seating that allows smoking. Moved to Fl so it was great to get back to a Moma Bearnos and the spicy baked wings. Both were as we remember and did not disappoint.

Went to Bearnos tonight... Asked a few simple questions about certain menu items in relation to my milk allergy... Was told the following by our waitress: 1. He (my husband) chose the wrong restaurant. -Took that comment as a joke and blew it off as I could see they had chicken sandwiches, wings, etc. Things besides pizza... 2. I must not eat anything but lettuce. 3. I checked with my manager and she said the only thing you could have is lettuce. 4. We don't want to be responsible for your allergy. I have honestly never been basically refused service anywhere and told to go somewhere else but that is what happened tonight. I was dumbfounded. I wasn't asking difficult questions. They refused to look at ingredients for anything. I could have had french fries at the very least... So instead they lost business from 4 people and we went to Tumbleweed where Donna, this very patient lady who has served me there since I was a kid, took wonderful care of my friends and I even past closing time. I hope someone sees this and boycotts Bearnos in Highlander point with me! read more

Horrible bar service. Bartenders overserve favorite patrons but refuse to serve African Americans. It was very obvious that discrimination was the case, other patrons began to shake their head as to why we were blatantly ignored with each time one of the bartender walked passed and refused to acknowledge "excuse me" 3 times. we stood at the bar for 20 minutes, and with the bar barely occupied, both bartenders passed us up to serve people who walked in behind us. We finally decided to leave, and went to Mellwood tavern in Louisville with standing room only and was served in 5 minutes. Horrible atmosphere. read more

Expect absolutely zero customer service skills from the staff. Friday night 8:00pm and every other restaurant is packed but we are able to walk ever in and get a high top in the bar area immediately. Outside temp is 50F and the most important thing is make sure that the staff is cozy not the customers. Ask if we can shut the door to smoking area because it's cold, "sure no problem", order get our drinks and appetizer and management props open the door again. Our table and the table next to us nicely tell her it's freezing, her I don't care attitude immediately points out it's not about us it's about her. Our troubles began when my kids and I tried to walk through the bar to the outside dining area. The bartender was on me in seconds, as if he wanted to tackle me, telling me I couldn't be in the bar. I told him I wanted to eat outside (and you could only get to that seating area through the bar.) He said he'd let me in through a gate, which he did, but he sorta made a scene about it. Apparently, Indiana takes having kids walk through a bar VERY SERIOUSLY. I think our waiter kept forgetting we were out there, but I don't know. He was friendly enough, but he wasn't sure whether or not they could give us a plate of wings that was half BBQ and half spicy. I couldn't imagine why that would be a problem, but he returned from checking on that question saying that they could. Whew! The food was OK. I didn't expect much, and it was fine. I felt like there was way too much sauce with our pasta, but I like pasta with less sauce than most people. Still, this was like tomato soup with pasta bits in it. And I ordered the pasta with a "sausage link." That's in quotes because the menu said "italian sausage link," so I expected some pasta with a meat tube of delicious Italian sausage. Instead, there was a handful of sausage chunks, like you'd put on pizza. If I wasn't pressed for time, I would have complained and sent the plate back. I'm complaining a lot in this review, but Bearno's is a decent enough place with reasonable prices. The food was good enough, the staff was good enough, and they were fast enough. It's not the Ritz. Hire a competent manager. We have had many poor service issues here before but do like the pizza so keep trying. We ordered Pizza here tonight as we have for years - we are a loyalty customer. They we're out of mushrooms which are a staple on the super veggie pizza- we had company and decided to order any way so asked for a substitution - told over the phone any additional ingredients were an extra 2.99 or something like that - I asked to just switch - she said it needed managers approval?.. so I went ahead with the order and would address at the property after driving there to get it. Asked for the manager on arrival and a very young aggressive guy came out of the kitchen and began telling me they never do this, never have done it and he wont for me .. i have been buying pizza at Bearnos longer than this guy has been alive and have always been treated great here - I know the founders and know they understand customer service - this kid had no clue about that.. he was a jerk.. said he was the owners son - someone missed teaching this kid how to treat people who support his family's business.. owner - you lost a lifelong loyal customer over a 2.00 topping, and a crappy attitude. What happened to teaching our kids how to speak to people? He walked away from me without ending the conversation.. I had to call him back out and he asked me if I wanted the pizza or not.. I took it but never again - this restaurant won't last long with such poor customer service - I am a long time member of this small community and will share my experience in other ways as well.... read more

Simply put....stay away from this place. Sorry, but I wouldn't come back here if it were the last restaurant on Earth. The staff (the one we encountered at least, who apparently is bored as hell with her job) is rude and doesn't speak or acknowledge you once you get past the front door. Oh, well, she did bring a drink & the check. Other than that her attitude sucks. Her only response was "uh-hu" once... The pizza from the buffet is terrible. Extremely limited choices & it was often down to just a couple of pieces (PIECES, not pizzas) to choose from. Why 2 stars? The salad from the buffet was very good...who can screw that up? And the dessert cinnamon sticks were good. So, unless you want a self-made salad and cinnamon sticks, please go somewhere else. I understand times have changed but tonight was just downright dumb. They were kinda busy but didn't seem to be slammed. The only good thing about dinner tonight was actually the pizza. Except....when you and just one other person are sharing a pizza, you'd think you'd just split it half and half. Well, ours came out looking mangled and my half was cut so short that I was completely done with my half while my dad was on just his second piece. I left hungry tonight. The two waitresses were running around like they were so swamped yet I watched on lady wipe the same empty table off 3 times as if she were so busy. She was pretending to be busy. The staff seemed more concerned with the bar patrons doing karaoke than the people who were there to eat. We weren't the only booth who felt this way, I could hear the people in front and behind of me saying exactly what I was thinking. We went to pay our bill and our waitress didn't even recognize us. She forgot we were even her table. It was just all around a big mess. I'm willing to give Bearno's another chance but something has to change or I'm done. I went in and forgot my reading glasses. I could not see the sandwich selections. I asked about the sandwich choices. She said I'll give you a minute. She could have given me and hour... I still would have been able to read it. She could have offered to tell me what the sandwich selections were. But alas she didn't... I got the impression she couldn't be bothered. Our bill was $50, and we came here because we had some coupons worth $30. We made sure each coupon could be combined with others, which each one said they could. We gave them to our server, and she brought them back. We were confused? Why? She said the computer would only let her put one in.....No apologies, no talking to manager? This is the second delivery order we have placed. Should have learned after the first order. First time we got a call after an a hour and a half asking if we were going to come pick it up (again it was delivery). Another 40 min went by before we got it. Believe it or not it was cold. Second time it has been an about and 45 min. So I call and asked to be put on hold. Held the line for more than 5 min. Hung up then I called back and it rings long enough to be sent to their fax. I did this twice before someone answered. They said "the driver is on his way to your house now." What a way to run a service business! read more

This place NOT good. We stopped in after a day of snow tubing & was party of 4 adults/2 kids. Was a Saturday evening around 6:45 PM. Restaurant ~1/2 full (maybe less) & I saw 2 waitresses. Bar appeared quite full. We ordered a couple of pizzas & a pasta dish (for one adult) & a lasagne dish (for one adult). Pizzas came out decent amount of time. A good 10 min later one pasta dish came out (no comment from waitress on status of lasagna we assumed was right behind it). By time almost 30 minutes passed we had eaten pizza, etc & I went up to tell waitress just forget it & she was walking out of kitchen. AND...another person I heard right behind me was also checking on food had been 30 minutes I heard them say. I told her box it up to go as we were long done eating. No apologies or anything just an "OK". And during our ~45 min there nobody every checked on us to see if refill needed or to explain why food came out so late. When she brought us check & bag of lasagna to-go she said nothing...no apologies, etc. And to top it off the pizza was only "OK" (a B- grade but edible) & the pasta (& later tried lasagna at home) was frozen food quality at best. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. While the food is usually ok- they continue to use a horrible online ordering system that is now 0-3 over the last year. Tonight we were told by the website our order (a simple salad and meat lovers pizza) would take 30 minutes. No problem, I showed up after 30 min and was told they JUST received my order and it would be 20 more minutes. I am just not a fan. The pizza is ok. I think it's pretty hard to screw up pizza. The bread sticks are just awful. They get cold so easy, they're thin, and they never give enough marinara sauce to go with them. When you ask for extra they charge you. I eat here only when I am out numbered in a vote. read more

After waiting 45 mins I asked waitress about cheese sticks and she came back and reported that our order had been lost and asked again what I had ordered. The cheese sticks then arrived shortly after she reordered them. They were very cheesy and tasted good. Pizza was just ok. Crust was crunchy and bland. They did take 50% off my bill for waiting which I appreciated. With service issues and bland pizza I doubt I will be back. read more

TERRIBLE customer service by the manager SHERRY!!! Will not be returning to the Floyds KNobs location again! Not as long as she is there. When you pay $40 for 1 pizza you expect it to be corrected. None of this was done for us Friday evening 1/11/2019 and we never got a refund either. Terrible terrible customer service. I called to tell them our pizza was incorrect.Sherry the manager got on the phoneand told me that was how I ordered it. She would not listen to how I ordered it and was very short with me implying that I did something wrong. So I packed up the incorrect pizza and went to see her. When I got there she said they made it the way I ordered it. So, I tried to show her how I ordered it, and anyone who tries to order online can clearly see it says "to REMOVE items" . She would not even look to see how I ordered and was very very rude to me. I then asked for a refund, and she flat out refused! Said she would make another pizza. $40 by the way. So, I hesitantly said whatever and went out to the car and waited for 5 minutes. I did not want another pizza, I was pissed. if she hadn't treated me like I was an idiot, maybe i would have accepted the correct pizza. But, it was WRONG!! the way she treated me, and I will speak to her superiors. So, anyhow, after stewing for a minute, I went back in and told sherry I didn't want the pizza, told her where she could stick the pizza, and left. It wasn't about the money, it wasn't about the pizza, it was about SHERRY the manager @Floyds Knobs Bearnos. She was wrong and needs to have some customer service training, she really needs help with her people skills! Hands down the worst meal I have ever eaten. WARNING! Do not waste your money. Almost everything we ate tasted like a frozen meal. My pasta with mushrooms was flavorless - I think the mushrooms came from a can. My husband thought he was eating a Michelina's microwave chicken parmesan. The breadsticks (more like crackers) were the only thing worth eating. I would have been more satisfied with a McDonald's cheeseburger and tap water. Don't mention the bathroom. I have been in gas station bathrooms that were cleaner. Simply gross. Oh, and there's a blue upholstered recliner on the front patio - classy. read more
