History
Established in 2006.
The original house was built & owned by Ron Therriault, chairman of the Salish Kootenai tribes in the 1980s. He lived in Missoula to teach Native American studies at the University of Montana. The house was known as the Yellow Raven Lodge, a small retreat center for families, workshops, reunions, and personal retreats. In 1998, I bought the house & the land, which is nearly 10 acres, the majority of which is natural wildlife habitat. After a successful career of over 4 decades in executive marketing in Orlando, Washington, DC, Honolulu, and Missoula, Montana, I semi-retired to create mini-businesses including Bear Spirit Lodge B&B.
Meet the Business Owner: Ann H.
Originally from central Florida, I am a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Rollins College with an MBA, and The University of Montana with a Doctor of Higher Education. I have had a successful career in executive marketing, communications, public relations, and teaching college as an adjunct faculty member. I worked as an executive in marketing in big cities from Orlando to Washington, DC, to Honolulu & loved it. I know that many people need a break from the everyday stresses of work & family life, so I offer a solution to their "nature deficit disorder." I used to be a driven "Type A" overachiever for many years. Now I am living a more peaceful, balanced life in harmony with my environment. I highly recommend the experience of coming here for a short time even for just a peaceful retreat!
