Maybe the best burger I ever had…read more My advice: Add jalapeño, add bacon, no mayo, no cheese. It's the perfect combination of meats, crunchy fresh veggies and acidity. And I opt for the tots. The tots are great. Service is friendly and it's a comfortable place to eat, either inside or in the parking lot. It's great for roadtrips too, because you can order in the drive thru, and a few minutes later they'll call your name on the loudspeaker outside, which gives you a perfect few minutes for dog walking.

I've ordered from Grumpy's twice now, and here's the rundown…read more The first time I tried the Philly Cheesesteak, and honestly, it was just okay--nothing special, nothing terrible, just kind of mid. But I believe in second chances, so I gave them another shot. Round two, I went with the Gourmet Burger... and that's when Grumpy's redeemed itself. That fried egg on top takes it from a regular burger to something you remember--juicy, flavorful, and stacked just right. The portion size was solid, and it felt like real value for the price. If you're a burger person in Victoria, I'd say skip the Philly and go straight for the burger. Grumpy's has it down pat. Rating: 4 / 5

I expected breaded chicken and it was grilled nuggets in sauce on a sandwich. I didn't like it... ate half and threw the rest away. Was charged twice for fries (they're included in the meals price but that was due to a new employee who didn't know that and neither did I, so won't fault them for that. Just expensive enough already to be overcharged and not have it offered to be corrected when it was discovered by the cook who gave me two orders of fries. Just posting this as an fyi to make sure you pay attention to your charges when ordering.)

All I can say is - wow! This was my first time visiting Victoria and while staying for a few days I…read morerealized pretty quickly the small town didn't boast too many unique options. However, every time I searched or asked about a place to try, Dairy Treet came up. The original location was not far from my hotel so I stopped just to try the ice cream and fries to see what all the hype was about. Well, I get it!! The ice cream had such an authentic milk flavor to it and was the perfect consistency and flavor, you can tell they've been serving it up exactly the same from day one. It was so good, in fact, I went back the very next day to try more! The steak fingers weren't the typical texture and fry you see on most, but felt more like a Salisbury steak (in a great way) and the gravy was the star of the show. Top off the food with a vibe that sets you right back to the 50's with the lovely architecture and tunes playing while you wait/eat - Dairy Treet is a treat for sure! I live two hours away and have already made up my mind that the drive every once in a while would be worth it!

I highly recommend the Stuffed Hamburger; epic balanced flavors topped with a brown gravy that has to have been made by a team of grandmothers. Homemade fries and old style crispy okra with classic crumbles that reminded me of my Granny's. My wife, usually a finicky light eater, ate every single bite on her plate of the grilled Mahi Mahi. I suspect she may have licked the plate when I wasn't looking. Great date night and we will be visiting again very soon!

Ordered a Freddy's original with lettuce & tomato (must ask for it otherwise only comes with pickles, onions & mustard). NO cheese please due to my dietary restrictions. My husband ordered the Prime steak burger, comes with grilled onions & mushrooms and he added grilled jalapeños. The service was quick and friendly. Well, my burger had cheese and I didn't realize until it was too late, like more than several bites in. Oh well too late. It was really good with the lettuce & tomato I will order again this way. Without cheese of course. My husband said the grilled onions on his burger were bitter, and there might have been two grilled jalapeño slices on his burger. It was also a little on the salty side. French fries were cooked perfectly. Love the shoe string fries next time I'll get a larger size order of fries. Total cost for two burger meal deals with one mini custard was $34.00. Main reason for the four-star.
