Anybody can have an off day, so, will give it another try and see how it goes. What I don't like is that you can't see them making the sandwich. When you can see it , you can stop a situation from turning into a sandwich you hate. I ordered a ham sub. I told a girl that I would like to have it toasted. And then I told her that I liked it to where it was a little over toasted, and would she do that and she replied yes. And then when she gave it to me so, I asked if it had been toasted and she replied, yes. When I got home the sandwich had not been toasted at all. The cheese and everything in the sandwich was still like it just came out of refrigerator. I knew when I took it out of the bag and could feel how cold the sandwich was that it had not been toasted. So I took all the condiments off and put bread and cheese in my toaster. By the time I got that done, and reassemble my sandwich, all of the condiments were wilted and mushy and tasted pretty bad. The ham seem to be a really good quality meat. I really hate that it had to be so poorly made. The other thing when, is that when she put spinach on the sandwich, and lieu of lettuce, I couldn't find it. So I didn't investigation into my sandwich while it was torn apart and I finally found one and a half leaves of spinach on my sandwich. But I guess that was good under the circumstances because it looked like it had been through the washing machine because it had been so long since the sandwich was made before I could eat it. It's a sandwich have been filled with that kind of thing I might not have been able to even eat it. That would have been really unappealing to look at and then eat. It was a bad experience all the way around. I'm going to go another couple of times because I always do like to make room for that sometimes it's just a bad day. I have a job and I go to work and sometimes I just have a bad day . so we'll see how this goes next time and I'll come back and let you know if I can get a sandwich toasted with some spinach. Have a great day and happy eating!

Hubs ordered the Goodfella Pizza, with a couple of deletions, and loved it. I chose the Elana Ruz sandwich and it was glorious! Not exaggerating, that sandwich was such a delicious combination of flavors. We were able to find seats inside while we waited, and then hubs found a table outside right before our food was ready. The weather was delightful so we enjoyed sitting outside. We loved the overall vibe, although inside was a little loud. Their decor everywhere was so much fun! We also appreciated the drink refills as we headed out. As we left, we saw tons of parking in an adjacent lot, which I've noted for future visits. Mountain Goat Market is now definitely a must-do on our next trip to The Caverns.

The meal took only a few minutes to prepare and we were eating by 12:55 The Reuben looked amazing as did the pizza. I was a little jealous. Especially since I ordered the fiesta burrito and found it to be mostly ... just.... okay. I was disappointed that the gift / souvenir shop was closed.

I have been recommended this place by multiple people throughout the years and finally got a chance to give it a try. (Well, I say that but mainly because I go to Gold's Deli everytime I'm in Columbia. So it was time to share the love) They have a pretty large menu of various sandwiches, I wish I had grabbed a picture of them. I asked the cashier if she had to pick one sandwich which one would it be, she gave me a list of about 3 that all sounded amazing. The fourth she suggested was if you're overwhelmed or unsure just get the Italian. I LOVE Italian sandwiches so that is what I ended up with. Everything here is fresh so I waited about 5-10 minutes for my sandwich to get made. I will definitely be trying out some of the more adventurous creations next time but this was so good. This Italian has a freshness to it that I have a hard time describing but their olive oil blend is lovely, the olives, banana peppers and lettuce helped with that fresh taste as well I'm sure. The bread is incredible! It taste house baked, crisp outer crust with a pillowy interior. The house chips were also really good and salted perfectly. The inside is cool, it's a microbrewery and there's subtle like alien themes throughout? Overall can't wait to try it out again, stop by if you're ever down in Columbia!

When we arrived, we were warmly greeted. Inside is clean with 4 tables for sitting inside to eat. The restaurant is small and cutely decorated. The display cases with meats, cheeses and different salads and condiments looked great. The deli meats for the subs is sliced very thin. We started with lasagna and garlic bread that Dave and I shared. The filling had beef and Italian sausage and it was delicious. The cheese pull was good and not too much. The red sauce was very good. 5/5 We ordered foods to go after eating the lasagna in store. I failed to take a picture of the lasagna. Suffice it to say it was inhaled quickly. We tried the eggplant panini in store too. Everything else was to go. I ordered a Bruno Sub and asked for roasted red peppers to be added. Honestly I couldn't taste the roasted red peppers as there weren't very many added. There was a thin slice of 1 onion ring on the sub so I couldn't taste any onion at all. For me that's a fail as I like to taste ingredients. 4/5 The eggplant panini came with a side of marinara. I have had eggplant panini's before and was anticipating this one. When I saw it, I was very disappointed. There were 2 very thin slices of eggplant inside a sub roll that had been put in a panini press or under bricks to smash the bread down. The only taste was bread. Marinara was good but couldn't rescue the panini. 1/5 We bought 1 arancini and it came with marinara. I heated it up along with the marinara. One bite in and I was sold. I would definitely go back and order arancini again. The meat inside was flavored well and the marinara made everything come together well. 5/5 We ordered a pastrami. For us there was way too much fat and we couldn't remove the fat like we can in a Jewish deli because this meat was sliced paper thin. 3/5 The potato salad was lacking in flavor to me. There was a significant amount of mayo in my opinion. Dave liked it. 3/5 The marinated artichokes were delicious and so were the white bean salad. 5/5 Dave ordered a Super Sub. It had 4 meats plus lettuce, tomato, and cheese. There was a tiny sliver of onion but we couldn't taste it. He loved his sub. 5/5 The two cannoli's were delicious. I favored the vanilla and Dave favored the chocolate. 5/5 We will return as the food was good. If you are missing an Italian Deli taste, please stop by. This place makes everything from scratch. It was worth the trip.

The signage is a little easy to miss, but I walked in to two friendly people eager to serve me lunch. They have a fairly large selection of hot and cold sandwiches, and a slightly more gourmet feel to the items and menu boards. I was torn between the chicken, bacon, ranch sandwich and the #1 combination sub, which comes with a variety of meats. I was encouraged to try the #1, so that's what I went with. They were happy to accommodate my modifications to the sandwich (no onions or tomatoes, please). I grabbed chips and a drink from the mini-fridge to complete my meal. The bathroom in the back is a little cramped and hard to find but clean and gets the job done. My sandwich was made fresh for me and brought to my table. I liked the crusty bread; it stood up well to the sandwich. The meats and cheese were sliced thinly and I could taste the different elements. For me, I think I would have preferred some greenery other than the shredded cabbage; the texture just wasn't my favorite. The pepper on top was also a little heavy and aromatic for my preferences. Nothing worth sending it back over, just a few small details. Overall, I appreciate the effort to create a sandwich shop like this one. I would return to try another sandwich in the future.

If you are unfamiliar with Fayetteville, it sits on the Tennessee and Alabama border. It is just north of Huntsville, Alabama and maybe an hour and a half south of Nashville, Tennessee. Hwy 55 is smaller burger chain that started in North Carolina back in 1991 as Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers. In 2012, the business wanted to expand beyond the state of North Carolina and opted to change the restaurant's name to Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries and began their expansion outside of North Carolina when they opened their first location outside of North Carolina in May of that year. They have over a hundred locations now, though they are still strongest in North Carolina. The menu is pretty straightforward with burgers, cheesesteaks, fries, milkshakes and the other items that you would expect from a fast casual burger place trying to capture a 1950's type diner feel. There is nothing wrong with such a simple menu. Hey, who doesn't love a good burger. For a rating, I am going to give this particular location of Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries five stars. While I would not normally give a place like this five stars, I am doing so because of its location in Fayetteville, Tennessee, which certainly needs more restaurant locations and a bigger variety of restaurants. Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries is a wonderful option for a quick meal in a place with not enough dining options.
