Then, when I got to checkout, they again confirmed that I was uninsured and suddenly told me that I had 6 cavities. I asked why the dentist looking at my teeth said I had 4 and the lady at check out said the dentist had mispoken on how many based on the scans? They quoted me approximately $2,000 for the recommended dental work. Going from 3 to 4 cavities during the exam to 6 at checkout, along with a $2,000 treatment quote, felt extremely strange to me. The whole situation just felt off, and I became suspicious enough that I did not feel comfortable moving forward without another opinion. I went to a completely different dental office, had new X-rays taken and a full exam, and they told me that I have zero cavities. I had them double check as I was shocked to hear this, and also then after explained the situation that had occurred here. And they again confirmed that no, I had no cavities. I understand that dentists can sometimes interpret things differently, but the difference between being told I had 3-4 cavities, then 6 cavities, being quoted around $2,000 in treatment, and ultimately having another dentist find none at all is pretty shocking. I'm extremely glad I trusted my instincts and got a second opinion before agreeing to treatment. I would not go here and am at a loss of words for the situation Toothopia nearly put me in.

The XRay tech was super nice and made sure I was comfortable with my X Rays. They took both an XRay and a 3D photo of my bite. Luckily I had no cavities but i needed a very deep cleaning! I think it was geared to complete the cleaning as fast as possible. I am used to get a very good job with manual instrument cleaning. The drilling for dental cleaning is way too aggressive. Actually one tooth became quite painful the next day after and I had to take antibiotics to have it subsided in 3-4 days. The second cleaning. The facility asked me to pay extra for xrays after only 6 months. I am a doctor and most dentists do annual xrays, unless there is a problem. I declined. The doctor came in an was already frowning apparently for that reason. I also let him know that his drill cleaning caused me too much pain in one tooth and that I took antibiotics to make it go away. This time I requested a manual clean. He was superficially working on me, left without greeting after only 10minutes without any goodbye and handed me over for a 5minute polishing job by the dental assistant. Overall the dental cleaning job was the worst ever and even I can clean my teeth better than that office with brush, dental floss, candle sticks, waterpik and dental instrument. Apparently they make good money. The office has beautiful design, especially the flooring. Prices are definitely not worth it. i won't be back.
