The salesperson must have been having a bad day. She reiterated repeatedly that she had to have a receipt and that there had to have been a gift receipt with the gift. Rather than issuing a giftcard and concluding the transaction she said that she didn't want to issue the giftcard because it would be for a low markdown amount...huh?! After repeated arguing, I finally told her just to keep the clothes, she obviously needed them worse than I did and left. Unfortunately, sales associates only want to sell, not ring returns. Its so much easier just to shop on line with Amazon. Stores want customers to shop local, but make the experience difficult and embarrassing. Don't shop Belk in Vidalia!!

My reward: going to Toys "R" Us across the street afterwards (this was in Greensboro, North Carolina). These days, it's not my mom taking me to TJ Maxx, but my girlfriend. As an adult, I actually tolerate TJ Maxx now and I appreciate it for what it is - a discount department store chain. You can find some good deals on name brand apparel and goods here. I've been to this TJ Maxx in Statesboro a couple times. My girlfriend was considering buying some Samsonite carry-on luggage at this store. I like Samsonite, but I wasn't impressed with the rolling bags here. The selection and quality weren't the best. When it comes to luggage, you get what you pay for. I prefer Travelpro these days. We weren't able to find any of the dry shampoo my girlfriend likes, but she did purchase a bunch of bottles of hand soaps for her apartment. They had all sorts of varieties that looked unique. I browsed through the men's clothing section and didn't see anything of note. We did pick up a bag of what looked and tasted like green tea Werther's sitting on a shelf near the check-out counter. They did not taste good. Service has been good. This TJ Maxx is located at the Statesboro Crossing shopping center near Statesboro Mall and Walmart. Other big box retailers at this shopping center include Ulta, Petco, Books-A-Million, Rack Room Shoes, and Hobby Lobby. The shopping center is clean and looks well-maintained. I'm sure I'll be back.

Then there is another smaller bargain store, Bealls, that I also like as well. I always walk away with lots of good shopping every time I visit.
