I brought my 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax to him with multiple issues and he was excellent from start to finish. He diagnosed a bad vacuum pump, found an AC compressor leak, replaced glow plugs, and fixed a broken transmission dipstick tube. He also cleaned up a bunch of oil underneath the truck while he had it apart. What really impressed me was how transparent he was. He sent me photos, videos, and updates explaining exactly what he was seeing and what needed to be done. No guessing, no pressure, and no unnecessary upsells -- just straight, honest communication. The AC is now blowing ice cold (around 40°), the truck runs great, and everything was done at a fair price. He even skipped charging labor on a small part replacement, which says a lot about his integrity. It's a family-owned shop that he runs with his dad, and you can tell they actually care about doing things right and treating customers fairly. Good diesel mechanics are hard to find. Honest ones are even harder to find. I'll definitely be bringing my vehicles back here and recommending them to anyone who needs diesel or auto work done.

Pricing on wheels and tires was very reasonable, and everything was explained clearly--what was wrong, what needed to be done, and what could wait. No pressure, no surprises. I think the head suspension tech/owner (Jim) might be the Michael Jordan of tire, wheel, and suspension installation. When I had an issue with something in my suspension, he showed me the part and explained why it needs to be addressed. I know a little bit about cars but Jim would explain an issue in a digestible way that someone with no car knowledge or mechanical aptitude could understand. That's a rare gift in the automotive repair industry. What really stood out to me is they don't move forward with any additional work unless you give the green light. That level of transparency and respect is rare. Also--random but worth mentioning--they have the cleanest restroom I've ever seen in any mechanic or retail shop. That alone says a lot about how they run their business. There was a glitch in communications between my CARB account and the NVD upload, but Jeremy went well above anything I could have expected. Customer service matters! And that is exactly what I got for my dollars from Jeremy and NVD. There is no doubt that any other shop would have turned my wallet inside-out based on the CARB difficulties, but Jeremy was straight up honest and really wanted to see me through this. The problem was with CARB (pretty sure a fault with my account setup - my mistake), not NVD. I will say, CARB did properly, and quickly, communicate with NVD and they eventually worked it out, so kudos to BOTH of them. I very highly recommend North Valley Diesel in Yuba City. You get what you pay for along with a lot of honesty, proper communication and effort to get the job done. Myself and my wife were diesel mechanics in the military and he treated her like she is lower than whale crap on the bottom of the ocean. He treats people like they don't know anything. I can see him scamming ladies that use them because they 'don't know vehicles'. He just cost this business a ton of money. I was going to use them for front end work, APPS replacement and turbo replacement... Not anymore! If you like being treated like garbage, use this shop.
